That's awesome! Thanks for sharing. I didn't even know there was a campaign you pay for! And 20 missions long! That's excellent. I love long campaigns. I've flown Georgian Oil War several times, so I could use a change.

Press Control + P, then try the switch.

Howdy, Finally got back into flying recently, fired up BS2. And first mission in, had two very close calls. I think they were TOW missiles, not sure. The first one I saw but it was too late so I accepted my fate, but it missed! Whew. The second one I saw it coming, and moved just in time...it may still have missed, but it was still exciting! **sorry I can't get the embedding to work..ugh.

Since my good PC is down for the count right now, I'm only able to play Combined Arms. Let me say this - The ability to control the air units makes this a whole new ball game. It really does make a huge difference with your strategy, and now ground units can get the proper support. BUT - if you are not careful, and your recon missed a SAM or AAA, bye bye air support. LOVE IT! Biggest impression so far? ED's work ethic and commitment to this genre.

Haha, no worries, the day after 1.2.3 comes out...people will be asking for 1.2.4. It never really ends does it?

Any tips to survive the modern battlefield?
Madman777 replied to IonicRipper's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
As with the Blackshark, my advice is to keep your head out of the cockpit and constantly scanning the area around you. Constantly. You will see threats before you meet your maker. -
Thanks EtherealN! Appreciate the quick response and I'll kindly wait for a fix. :-)

Hello, I had two accounts under one email address. I was asked to merge them into one account several months ago, which I did. The problem is that all my gamesI puchased under the username I didn't want got deleted or vanished and I have no record of there sale on the DCS site. So now, I'm missing the following purchases in my payment history. 1) Blackshark 2 Full 2) Flaming Cliffs 2 3) Blackshark 2 Upgrade In addition to this, issue #2 is I recently changed my hardware and I'm now locked out from playing all of them, accept Combined Arms (recent purchase) I have opened tickets in the past about the first issue, but it was closed with no assistance. I opened new ticket about this issue, but I don't feel like waiting a couple months then having it close again, all without playing. I'm posting this thread hoping that it will speed up the process on my tickets and I can finally play during the holiday and salvage what's left of it. I miss my Shark :-( Ticket #1 18279 (merging account / missing payment history issue) Ticket #2 18322 (A-10C activation issue) Ticket #3 18323 (BS2 Activation issue) Thanks!

An F-15C in DCS World sounds great. I will be buying for sure. That F-15 cockpit looks stunning!

I was feeling hopeless myself at one point because I was putting so much effort into it and I couldn't stay connected for even a few seconds. Until I read something about changing the response curves on the joystick. I put both pitch and roll at about 30-40 smooth curve and suddenly I could stay connected. Shortly after I had first complete refuelling without disconnecting. I'm using X-52 so that might had something to do with it. :-)

Yes sir. Everything that could be on was turned on. All slider were up to the max...etc. I'm getting rock solid performance from MSI 660ti. This specific card, without any manual overclocking goes up to 1.23Ghz. Extremely fast. But on any resolution higher than 1920 x 1080 I can't speak for. I know someone who said the card doesn't perform that great on higher resolutions...but that person was basing this on Metro 2033 and games like that.
-
I had a GTX 670 that worked perfect all settings max. I recently sold that card for other reasons and just picked up a MSI 660ti. Basically it's performing identical to the 670. For $300 it's worth it. I have everything maxed out, including the clutter and tree distance..etc. I'm running on a 27" monitor at 1920 x 1080. I can't speak for any other higher resolution.

I really like controlling tanks in DCS! So far it's been a blast. Being able to finally sort out those idiot AI bridge crossings will be a big relief in the future  I'm still kind of in dis-belief this is actually happening. I don't think it's sunk in yet. We have ground and air warfare together in a simulation! yaaaay This is a video of my first battle. Simple mission. I'm M1A1 vs 2 x T-55 Tanks.

Fatal Error: Can't process CombinedArms_protect.exe

Thank you. This worked for me as well. -
Very nice! Thanks ED! Now that we got this stuff out of the way...time to announce something soon? :-)
-
Hahaha. Yeah that about sums it up. If I win the lottery I will be the first to kick start an apache :-)
-
For sure that would make a difference. You would prob notice it more on a busy mission.
-
Exactly.. 4.8ghz is a real sweet spot for this sandy bridge.
-
It really does add to the immersion when the scenery and graphics look top notch. My GF is starting to get jealous cause she see's me staring at the KA50 for long periods of time. :-)
-
Only 4Ghz? There is something wrong there. 2500k should get up to 4.4Ghz without an increase in voltage. There are a few guides on OC'ing Sandy Bridge. I followed one exactly and managed to get up to 4.8ghz. I've had it up to 5Ghz a couple of times, but the 1.45v scared me..hehe. I used to have windows on an SSD, but I got rid of that drive and decided to go with windows on normal HD. Big mistake. Very ugly loading times.
-
Thanks KaspeR! The most recent upgrade was the GTX 670. The 60GB SSD has only DCS and Rise of Flight on it. Until I get a second SSD for Windows. :-) And 4.8Ghz is actually not that difficult. Sandy Bridge is so easy to overclock. :-)

Very disappointing. Even a Cobra, or MI-28...etc. Helo's are fun, challenging and so worth the money.
-
Haha! He's thinking "Crap! I left my labels on, next time if I don't want to get bombed, turn labels off!"

Howdy, With a newly upgraded computer and the ability to run ANY sim or game at high settings, I look at my HD and try to figure out which sim I want to try out first after my upgrade. I keep going back to the KA-50. Even after four years of spending thousands of hours, I still get excited and motivated to fly the KA-50 faster and lower, while engaging and killing the enemy. I think I know the reason why. The flight model for the KA-50 kicks *ss! It's challenging to fly, and especially fly and fight.. Yes, the A-10C is amazing and the tech is awesome, but it's just so easy to fly. The reason for this post? To give credit to the amazing flight model and a big thank you to DCS for giving me something challenging and fun to fly, even after so many missions. And now, with a PC that can run it on high settings, the world and helo itself looks stunningly beautiful. I really *hope* we get some new helicopters. I would gladly pay hundreds of dollars for an Apache A or D model. :-)

I believe I put the slider up to +100 core clock and +250 on the memory, in the EVGA OC'ing software. My experience with overclocking video cards is almost nill, so I'm keeping it light OC for now, until I learn more. I'm not even sure what temps are being produced yet when running games at high settings. I will have to do some testing at some point. Maybe a few days off work..heheh. :-)
