  8. Thanks guys. A compressor and airbrush will set you back at least $300. Paints go for about $3 a jar and can be used for several models. The kit costs about $25.
  9. Here is my rendition of the Tamiya 1/48 P-51D Mustang built to represent 41-4151 which was named "Petie 2nd". Hope you enjoy the photos!

    DCS: F-5E!

I wonder if other variants of the F-5E will be modelled like the F-5EM of the Brazilian Air Force etc. Mark
  18. Concur with TooTall. Mitsubishi J2M Raiden.
  19. If they do an Iranian Tomcat, I wonder if they can simulate the air-toair version of the I-Hawk SAM.
  20. That's a D model though. Not part of this release but I do hope LNS does release a D some time in the future.
  21. Well, I was't exactly saying that FTD is the only source for good markings out there. Just that aftermarket decal companies in general tended to put a lot of effort into research and that they would likely be the best source for getting detailed information on the various schemes. It'd be nice to see some of the more exotic paint jobs done such as those in the NSAWC Adversary and prototype schemes.
  22. If you really want to get the markings and paint schemes right, you'll want to look up the guys who do decals for model aircraft such as Fightertown Decals.
  23. Ah. I didn't know that. Thanks. Only the cover that was attached to the probe was removed as seen in the photos that Demongornot posted.
  24. Probe doors were removed from the Tomcats as the metal drogue baskets (affectionately known as "iron maidens") used by KC-135s and KC-10s had the tendency to rip the doors off, potentially causing FOD damage to the Tomcat's engines. Thus, the decision to remove these doors from Tomcats operating with ground based tankers such as during ODS, OEF and OIF. The Tomcats delivered to Iran also did not have these doors.
