  2. The update is not online yet, I need to find a moment to push it. I know the server is full often but I am not sure how to fix that ; the server is more popular than I thought when I started it as a lol project. You can always send me a powerful computer, the server's hardware is super old :music_whistling:
  3. Nope, I don't own these WWII planes so I can't do specific experiment with them. :( However, can you be more precise? Experimented what? Why the EWR would be different from AWACS for WWI Planes? For me, it's not an AWACS problem, it's a radio problem. I can't find a common frequency that all the planes can reach ; every aircraft radio freq ranges are different so I assume the problem to reach EWR would be the same as AWACS. I would rather know why some plane's radio don't accept 124Mhz in their channels cause I also have this problem with Korean-war planes. I always guessed it was a bug or some realism things and yea, I guess these old planes didn't have top of the line radios. But still, the P51 and bf190 can reach this freq so I don't discard the possibility of a bug. 124MHz is my best candidate freq so far; almost all planes can reach it. Maybe someone with a aircraft radio PHD can tell me a better freq that all the aircrafts can reach better? :thumbup: ... and I ll change the 350 playable aircrafts :(

  5. Mirknir, our lead programmer did some skynet fixes and Mirknir, our lead level designer prepared the new map. The update is in the hands of Mirknir, our quality control expert.   6. Not enough money :) I can't host more slots on the server's current hardware and internet connection, both of which I am trying to upgrade. The server is opened to donation for this purpose. If you like the server, consider supporting it :smilewink:
  7. Hehe I will lower it if I found out that it doesn't bug some aircrafts like the ka50 that only had one engine starting :) Snow, esp snow storm, is hard on performance but also limit the visual spotting disadvantaging the old planes.
  8. Yea I usually leave the temp between 15 and 25 Celsius even during winter because some people reported unstartable aircrafts at low temp like the ka50. I may wanna try low temp again but I am not sure it would be fun for people to have to preheat their aircraft. :)

It's ok, it's not easy to understand the mechanics underneath but when you play on a server, you are referenced by many IDs :) You are a player loging-in with your unique clientID, you enter the server and are given a ServerSlot (from 1 to max player count), you choose a playable aircraft slot which has a groupID, unitID and seatID. Then, when you spawn, your aircraft gets an instanceID. I did a longer explanation here if you want :) All DCS systems reference the player at different level and sometimes, it's just too restrictive. I can kick a specific player but I can only send a sound to a group. I can send a chat message to a specific player but I can only send a text popup to a group. But you don't need to care about that, I ll try to see if I can work a bit more around restrictions.
  13. Yea it has not been reported but I want to have a better support for multicrew in OC. However, I am limited by DCS's API that references players by groupID for radio menu, popup text and sound functions. A player is in a seatID, in an aircraft instance of a mission unit in a mission group and referencing the player with groupID is too limiting to properly support multiseat. I will still investigate if some new script functionalities have been added since last time I investigated and see if I can do better :thumbup:

  15. The maintenance has been done and some problems were detected outside my line, in the building installation. In the next episode of The Real Wives of Open Conflict, a level 2 repair team will be sent... Will the internet connection be better? Worse? Stay tuned on NBSN :thumbup:

  17. Yo guys, don't forget tonight's maintenance on Open Conflict internet connection, around 5pm+ east coast. Here is also some thought about some of the posts: AI CAPs: I've read your posts and lemme explain my views on AI CAPs. AI CAPs are the minimum protection you get when entering the conflict zone, the 'Skynet Care' for you americans. Since I don't control (but could) the team balance, without AI CAPs, people could just stack a team and rule the conflict zone making the map less interesting. And yea, this situation already happens even with AIs. I've noticed that blue side usually gets more ground pounders and rescuing helicopters while red side gets more blood-thirsty-trash-talking-fighters. AI CAPs also offers basic targets after all the fighters went red side and ask "Where are these blue pussies in their unarmed helicopters? Be a man, come to fight!" At this point, you will say: "Mirknir, aren't you exaggerating a bit?" and the answer would be yes. But still the AI CAPs serves a purpose and I am not sure I should get rid of it. Now the good question brought up by Cosmiccookies suggestion number 3 is: "do AI CAPs really need to be in powerful planes like the best fighter in the world that is the Su27 that Mirknir pilots so well btw?" - legit direct quote :lol: And the answer is thank you and yea, the AI CAPs could be in weaker planes. Could there be a gradual raise in power of AI CAPs as they get blown up? yea. Do you have an ETA? Yea, before the F18 full release. Without AWACS, I've found out that I can't request bogey dope from EWR ; they don't speak. The EWR data is only available to datalink and AIs as far as I know/tested. If you are talking about Simple Radio (that I don't know that much), don't be shy and explain what's missing and maybe Ciribob can change some settings.

  19. I think I am having some internet problem right now ; I am checking with my ISP. But yea, I think the first step towards more players is a greater internet connection ; more upload and shit. hehe, yea Update: Yep, my ISP is detecting some crap on my internet connection ; they will be sending help soon.   20. From airport starving empty slots to people not using WWII planes that much to me being lazy, no WWII planes on redfor. But if you guys found a new love for them, I can fix it. Like Gelend, Sochi might get some FARPs to free slots :)
  21. I don't want to reopen a debate on the datalink :lol: But yea, as a su27 pilot, I can tell you that the combo datalink, IRST and R27ET is a bit crazy good. But so are Fox3 or US super cool RWR.... I've already put the AWACS further from the CZ to give it more of a role of overwatching your territory more than the enemy's. I don't want to kill the AWACS, I was wondering if you guys would be interested in some sessions without AWACS :)

  23. Since the patch, the server is regulary losing connection to dcs lobby server.... Not sure why. So server is online but not visible. I ll make sure my internet connection didn't become crappy too. I ll restart everything when I get home
  24. I didnt change anything about this but there was a new patch so maybe something changed. I know the AWACS is sometimes spamming too much and prevent other messages to go thru. Any special bases? Speaking of AWACS, a lot of people - dustoff, bent :) - have been vocal about the OPness of datalink even if I moved them a bit further. However, removing datalink means removing AWACS. What do you guys think about trying sessions without AWACS? If so, do you think I should give the "fighter in vicinity" warning to non fighter planes? (If the option is on)
  25. The server doesn't allow or not mods ; ED's integrity check does. The server just requires ED's integrity check to pass. It's a small difference but it means I don't have control over what files the integrity is checking. To know what mods is breaking your Integrity Check, you can click on the red shield and have a list of failing files. Then, you can identify what's wrong. I know for example, textures addon are ok if you don't install the changes to shadow.lua Here is an example of how my local changes to edit my map breaks my integrity check. Btw, these changes to add every vehicles to every countries shouldn't break the check for example. I have to revert these changes when I go from map edition to playing on the server :thumbup:
