1.5 Server can't be seen by host. help!

Thanks for the info. That must be the problem, I have 1200 units, briefing, sounds and some radio voice over. I will do some test in this direction and report back! -
Hello guys I am trying to host a server on the open beta on the same computer that is running a 1.2 server without a problem. However, people can't see the 1.5 server in the list but they can connect using direct IP! I wonder if the 1.5 needs more firewall rules and ports access than the 1.2? - Client can connect using direct IP connection - DCS is allowed thru my firewall - Port 10308 is opened on my modem - Computer is running 1.2 server fine - Computer is on windows 7 What I am missing?

Update The server computer is now updated and reinstalled. I am encountering so much problems trying to host an open beta 1.5 server so that's lame. I will try to host 1.2 server again and see how it goes. 1.5 hosting problem I encountered and need help solving if you have ideas: - No server tool working to keep trolls out (SLMOD or ServMan) - No 3D renderer mode so the server has to have a relatively good 3D card - Client can't see the server but can connect via direct connection - Shader crashes Still working on it!

Update Hello guys The server is currently down as the dedicated machine became unstable and need fixing. This, combined to the mysterious random freezes I've witness the past months made me shutdown the server. I am in the process of fixing the server computer and reinstalling a new OS and everything needed. Also, on my main computer, I am making a new map from scratch with the 1.5 open beta and also updating my scripts. I will try as soon as possible to have a my server back up, on the open beta, with the new map, in order to make sure everything is working. I still have a lot of work but it's going well so far. Here are some screenshots of the new map in the mean time. Thanks!

I am not going to switch right away, especially with the current problems I have with the server machine. However, I might test my map and the server on a separate 'open beta' version of the server that will be public but not dedicated. I will update the title of the server(s) to make sure people knows what's what. Then if all goes well, I will transition to full open beta

Yes, the protected zones stay the same but are now better enforced. Thus, the gap between Senaki and Sukhumi is still there for the central battle and the pvp.

Intrusion Detection and Response Hello As you probably know by now, the server map maintains a protected zone for each side in order to be able to train in peace, do some acrobatics in peace and of course have places where you are not spawn-camped. However, maintaining those safe zones in those trouble times of game bugs (like groups not spawning after reset) and of ever-increasing player sneakiness and blood thirst (:smilewink:) comes with challenges. The map has become more and more loaded with defending AIs like rows of SAMS and Warden CAPs. As a result, a lot of computer resource is spent on having those units with no gameplay purpose except to enforce a simple rule and when they fail to spawn, chaos reigns. To help with this dilemma, I programmed a script to automatically protect those interdiction zones. The script will detect the intruders, warn them with text and sound message then proceed on firing increasingly dangerous flak-type explosions. After a certain delay, if the intruder didn't turn around, the explosions will be so near, the plane will be damaged. I am going to ship this script soon and monitor the results to see how good or bad an idea it is :lol:

Server crashed again. It's one of the callstack I see a lot. NextEvent@wWakeupTime The last log lines are The last lines are from my script so it may be related to it but this code is running for hours without problems. I am not sure how to prevent this kind of bug. It seems it could be related to the long time I am running the server even if I do a reloadmap every 4h. Any advice? DCS-20150904-153305.crash.txt

Server crashed to desktop in: IsTransparent@gCloudGenZW The map contains dynamic weather with light clouds Also, the server is running without 3D rendering. options.graphics.render3D = false options.graphics.maxfps = 20 The crash didn't even pop-up the windows 'This program has stopped running' message box. Another update! In the next map update, version 2.0 and above, the server will change its respawn system for AIs to help with stability and fix the 'killed a building' bug. I will stop using the script combo MIST/automan to use a more simple group activation approach. I will monitor the server as usual but don't hesitate to report bugs to me in a private message. Thanks for the feedback. I like the new setup of having a center battle with 2 main destructible bases and 2 big convoy assaulting those bases and the player needs to intervene. It creates a bigger frontline than the Sochi map and more opportunities for team work and pvp without involving an airport where player spawns. However, I don't like the placement of this setup because even if the map from Anapa to Krasnodar has a nice coastline, I feel like it has a really boring low rez inland landscape. It's too flat and monotone for me. :mad: I guess I could have better checked the region before doing the map! So because I am crazy, I am changing the map again! :helpsmilie: I am going back to the first open conflict placement and putting everything cool from the other maps in the new one meaning: * Red side main airport is Sukhumi * Blue side main airport is Senaki * Center battle will be Gali vs Zugdidi (so with mountains and valley nearby for sneaking) * Center airspace will not have AIs for full pvp * Bombers will still attack blue side and drop shit over the airports * Recons, convoys, spies and training zone still remaining.... Here is the next map update I am preparing: The war is progressing north around Krymsk. The idea is to combine the best of the last two previous maps into something more compact and providing a bigger front line for more team work and pvp opportunities. The red team will become a more complete side with the addition of a2g aircrafts and objectives. The safe zone for trainees will still be there on the blue side.

Hey Guys, Since the last patch, I noticed that the server will sneakily freeze without any crash popup or any reasons in the log or any actual crash dump to explain what's going on. I am under the impression that I over-use the dynamically spawned groups system and it already causes some rare server crashes and also the 'John killed a building' bug. (See: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=124084) I am in the process of redoing the entire mission to use a finite number of groups as well as no more external scripts. Using the basic features of DCS, DCS Editor and no fancy shits, I hope the server map will grow more stable, less heavy but also be more ready (or readier?) for the incoming big patches. Ok thanks for the info. However, since it's a map for my server, I can't predict when they will need to fight. I will replace those planes with planes without onboard ECM or with ECM pod I can remove :thumbup: Bye F15, hello F16!

Hello I built a mission with some AI's (F15 and Tu22) and they are constantly using ECM/Jammers even when landed! I would like the clear the war theater of some ECMs to make the mission a bit clearer on radars. I was wondering if they was a way to tell the AIs to not use ECM at all? Thanks

It's a known DCS bug that people sometimes have on servers. I can't do anything server side. If the communication radio is not available and the rearm shortcut (Lalt + ') doesn't work, you sadly need to restart your game. I don't have the mig21 but I've tested and seen mig29 and almost all planes with weapons on my server. The only weapons airports don't have are nuclear bombs so everything else should be available. Sorry about that. :( I had a lot of abuses of some payloads and a lot of complains about that so I added a integrity check for the related files. When you click of the server, the first line of the description notifies you before you actually join. However, it's a small message: FILE INTEGRITY CHECK: Weapons & Payloads "Config/Weapons" & "Scripts/Database/planes" I have no other way to communicate this except now, with this thread. You can fail the integrity checkin different ways and I wish DCS would output a clearer message than 'Connection Interrupted' that you can get for 20 different reasons. If you installed a mod or tweaked something in one of the files or doesnt have matching files comparing to the server, it can break the check.
