  1. Part of the overall I am doing to Skynet include more purpose to helicopter and more opportunities and consequences for delivery / rescue missions. Delivery is being extended to deliver cargo / deploy team. Rescue is being extended to rescue pilots / recover cargo. Consequences will also be extended to work with some new concepts I want to add like FARP/Airport capture and Intelligence/Fog Of War. Also, I would like to include DCS cargo slinging in my virtual cargo system and will soon need helicopter pilots to help me investigate this system and the information I can monitor. My cargo system is made to work in collaboration with all other systems Skynet has and also to make the -tr and -re mission available to other aircrafts like trainers or WWII planes. I can't just plug another script on top of Skynet :) I definitely want to use aircrafts specific feature when possible like when I added the radio beacon. So I want to look into this cargo slinging especially since I saw how much new cargo type was added. Also to know that I am sadly crazy busy with my actual work and I am not able to make that much progress on either Skynets at the moment ; sorry about that :(

  3. Yea, I am not sure what is happening. All I know is there is now a 10 min "anti cheat" delay so you should just not have the last 10 min of you flight but still be able to open the files. I will direct Vyrtuoz to this post so he can give you some more information but I can already tell you he will want you to share one of these problematic files so he can investigate :)
  4. Yea Windows 10 is definitely a regression in term of control over your computer and a progress in term of Microsoft pushing their adds and products on you :) Still it's a bit more stable for a server.
  5. The server was killed by Windows 10 force update during the night :mad: I've restarted it this morning.
  6. So I checked and wasn't able to repro the bug on my side. Still, I added more debug logs in the kill tracking and reporting system. When you kill an AI and the combat log doesn't display anything, can you please do a -report at this time so I can track this instance of the bug and see what's going on? Thanks

  8. I don't see this problem, both red and blue sides have proper combat logs including AI kills. There is a DCS bugs tho where your aircraft can be so damaged the game will considered it destroyed and send out crash events and stop registering your aircraft action BUT it's still somehow flyable and you can land and go repair. Then, Skynet doesn't receive any events about the dead but repaired aircrafts and your hits won't register. An AI dying without registered hits won't output a combat log. Can you please do a -report next time you feel this bug happens? I will be able to trace what happens.
  9. Thanks a lot for the help. I am now able to connect to the TS :thumbup: Flushing the DNS didn't work and it was something I've actually already tried before. What did it for me was using google DNS instead of automatically obtain one in my TCPv4 connection properties.   10. Yea, sadly, I have the same problem. I was never able to connect to this teamspeak while I can connect to other :cry: I was never able to find out why but I wouldn't say I dug deep since I am usually playing with a friend on Skype. CrimsonGhost is actually the one generously hosting the teamspeak for my server. You can try to message him.

A crash is always a game issue and should be reported to DCS / Viggen developers with the corresponding dcs.log and DCS-XXXXX-YYYYYY.crash files located in your C:\Users\ZZZZZ\Saved Games\DCS\Logs. Open Conflict doesn't run code on the client side so I can't trigger Open Conflict code specific crash. However, this crash can be brought up by a special setup my mission is using and other don't ; like the fact that I have a UK AWACS on the red side. It's a small distinction but it means it's harder for me to fix this kind of bug as I have no idea what the Viggen doesn't like in my mission that is ok for every other aircrafts. I can try to find this problematic setup and change it until the crash is fixed by developers but it's even harder since I don't own the Viggen (if the developers are reading, PM me some dev licence please :)) For this, I would need more information like: Anyone else experiencing this crash? Does it happen only with the Viggen? Does it happen on both side? or only on the red side for example? Does it happen on different slots or on a particular one? Can you attach or PM me the related dcs.log and DCS-XXXXX-YYYYYY.crash of when the crash happened? Thanks

Yea, it has already been reported ; I am going to change the F16 payload However, they each have only 2 AIM120c so the entire CAP have 4 AIM120c, so I am not sure if it qualifies as spamram :) I think some aircrafts have to activate their IFF or they will never answer IFF interrogation and appears as enemy to everyone. Anyone know about this? Any aircraft actually have to switch on their IFF? It might be something I can track and warn the pilot about.
  16. Yea thanks guys for the donations, it really helps me maintain the server and keep it growing. This combined to all the positive feedback also keeps me going in my crazy endeavor that is the new Skynet :thumbup: Yea a new version of the map will come soon and I'll add this to the list. Haha thanks, it's a lot of job, maybe more than I thought I could give you the password but except for my play sessions with Vyrtuoz where we test both the next Skynet and the next Tacview, my solo test sessions don't last that long :) Right now, there is not a lot to see as I am building the foundations for a lot of systems and creating some boring algorithm for space partitioning, building placements and location generation recipes. If you are interested, here are some ghetto screenshots even if it's not that exciting and everything is Work In Progress. ReGenesis - Addon: Skynet Regen is now a DCS addon in a DLL. ReGenesis - Factory - 1: Factory generated dynamically from scratch by Skynet (nothing you see was edited in the mission editor) ReGenesis - Factory - 2: Another version of the same factory So yea, it's progressing but not as fast as I would like :megalol:
  17. Thanks for such a cool server Cosmic :lol: This is where I don't agree. Even if DCS is a simulation, I've to do compromises because of DCS features and limitations. In what real conflict... did you see F15 fighting P51? did you see a pilot entering an aircraft he's never flown? did you see pilots firing on a radar contact without any regards to ROE? having thousands of SAM makes the battlefield lag? can a pilot still fly after killing teammates? can a pilot still fly after being killed? I am trying to get close to a real conflict but I have to do compromise for gameplay's sake and to create space and opportunities for everyone to have fun. In the next map, I am trying to put more space between red and blue protected zone or at least a clearer border but it's not easy as I don't control where the airports are :thumbup: I might try to use more FOBs with on ground planes.
  18. Hey guys, Haha, the AI CAPs again. Yea the AI CAPs are difficult to control and while sometimes, they are super dumb, sometimes, combined with the AWACS, they have an OP awareness and thus fighting skills. While these problems are in ED's hands, I can understand how it can be frustrated at times. Also to be noted that I forbad them to attack helicopters until these same helicopters started to troll enemy homebases and kill people on spawn. In addition to providing some AI air targets, the AI CAPs have also a big role in protecting your side of the conflict zone. They offer minimum protection, prevent people from sneaking too deep and trolling enemy homebases and allow me to not add thousands of SAMs in every valley. These being said, in Project ReGenesis (the next Skynet), I am designing away from having AI CAPs for policing the map and towards a more player centric approach. I am creating my own CGI/AWACS codename Overwatch that will behave a bit more realistically. Overwatch will take into account what ground/air AIs see, what players see, what base is under attack, basically everything that happens. Overwatch will thus naturally know less the deeper you go in enemy territory and more the closest you are from your homebases. Killing enemy asset and especially some units/buildings (EWR, everything with radars or antenna) will cripple enemy Overwatch system. Overwatch will then dispatch players or spawn AIs a bit more realistically. Without a DCS AWACS in the map, the AIs will go back to being "normal" For example: A player being fired upon by a convoy or a base will 'discovered' it for everyone and the threats will be marked in ag menu Recon will be a thing as the -ag detailed information will need to be built instead of already there. A sneaking helicopter that went too deep in enemy territory or attacked a homebase will have some very detailed BRA calls issued about him to enemy CAP players. I am still building the system but you can see a bit more the design intents behind this. I have very limited control over how AIs fight but this could be a feedback for ED. Also, because the AIM120C is fire and forget in some ranges, the AI can actually attack different targets at the same time and target priority may not apply. Yea I will change the payload to less AIM120. As much as I like having constructive feedback on the server, I also liked a lot when you guys posted more stories, screenshots or videos about stuff happening on the server. Knowing the irritants is one thing but also knowing what people like to do and have liked experiencing is critical for me, my motivation and Project ReGenesis so don't hesitate to post more :thumbup:
  19. hehe it would take more money :music_whistling: I am putting a lot of time in the development of the server but I can't put a lot of money. The server went from 20 to 30 recently but yea, the server would need a better computer and a better internet connection. For this purpose, I've opened the server to donation (link in my signature) but I am not very good or comfortable to ask for money :noexpression: Now that the server is a bit more popular, I might also try to ask again ED for some dev licenses so I can better develop the server for all the modules I don't own. Money is always in the way but I want to keep the server public as my first intent for Open Conflict was to create a fun place to discover DCS.

  23. I usually use US / West country skins for blue and Russia / UR / East country skins for red. I should say "when possible" because first, not all aircrafts have many different skins and sometimes, I don't own the module so I don't have all the skins either. I know, for me, the viggen that I don't own have 2 skins so I put bare on red and M90 on blue. WWII planes are also sometimes hard to identify as a US skin for a german plane can just be a german skin with a US flag painted on it :) Some skins have been added since I created the map so I might do a pass on them but it's not like I can put all red aircrafts with a big red flag on it and blue with a big blue flags :) Thanks for this, sometimes, the positive feedback is lost in the all the requests but it means a lot to me that people have fun :)
  24. I created the ground spawn near straigh-ish road so that it's still easier than the grass because the grass, in DCS, can easily be your enemy. In the next map, I will include these ground spawns in the initial design so that they work better. Blue slots are the easiest because they have a nice road. Red ones are the more difficult because the road is a bit more tricky. Because I don't own a lot of aircrafts, all I can say is that I managed to take off from both roads in a P51 :) I've seen people also succeed in other aircrafts with a road take off but Red ground slots are definitely more challenging :)
  25. Yes in the map, I intend to merge ALG into the FOBs. Right now, I am adding capturable airfield and FARP in the next skynet. Airfields are OK but FARP needing outside structures to work is a bit trickier since these outside structures have a coalition that don't change. I will do more tests and research to see what I can do apart from spawning / respawning these structures.
