[FIXED] Very degraded performance within Beirut terminal area
Mirknir replied to Midair's topic in Fixed Bugs
Not really ; I have good performance in this map and around this very Beirut area with the 2 other planes I fly (F16 and F14). This issue only appears with the JF-17 which I forget to specify in my initial post and will add (Thanks for making me think of it) My friend had the exact same problem in the JF17 but not in the F14. On top of that, the fact that the 'simulation' DCS profiler is spiking indicates more of a system going crazy on CPU. -
[FIXED] Very degraded performance within Beirut terminal area
Mirknir replied to Midair's topic in Fixed Bugs
I've noticed in my mission that when jumping in the cockpit of the JF17 I placed in Beirut, I drop to 8 FPS while in other JF17 parked in other airports, I have 40+FPS. Its seems like something strange is happening ; the profile says the simulation is taking forever. You can test the bare mission I created to illustrate this bug by jumping in the JF17 and checking your FPS. This performance drop only happens with the JF17 ; the same spot with the F16 or the F14 was fine. Additionally, you can see on the screenshot that the 'simulation' profiler is spiking. It's very strange ; the performance goes back up when you leave the parking area and take off and goes back down if you come back. Thanks JF17_Syria_Bug.miz -
F-14B Air to ground weapons not attached to pylons
Mirknir replied to Warmbrak's topic in Bugs and Problems
The problem is you can't really reason this way ; it's taking a problem and making it way too simple. First, the importance of a fix or feature is subjective and while the F14A is more important to you, it's not to me. I want my F14B to be finished first, my bombs to be attached to the planes, my Jester to be able to lase targets... You can argue that as a company wanting to satisfy its customers, HB is the only one that can gather proper customer feedback and put a meaningful importance to features / fix. And as such, posting on the forum to ask what's important to you is how to make sure HB has a good picture of what's important for the community. Then you need to add development time. If you take 9 month to birth the F14A but 1 week to have quick fixes/wins on a the already released product that is the F14B... is putting the F14A first really a cut dry decision? Quick wins and fixes also create a good relationship with your customers and indirectly promote your product to more customers. Then you add dependencies. Even if everyone wants better AIM54 features ; is it really HB working on it? They often state that they are waiting for some ED's framework feature or such. Then you add the DCS development schedule: there is no schedule. 90% of the product are late or have no release date and when the are released, they are in early access for a long time and the quality vary ; what a wonderful experience the F16 early release was! In this context, I feel its understandable that some people (I am one of them) give more importance to a concrete fix that a big ass feature that will most likely be released in a uncertain state even if I have to agree that HB has a good track about releasing products in good state. All these to say that not everything is cut and dry and importance is relative and not the only thing in the balance. Every time you ask something, there will be more "important" stuff they can do and I feel it's because of this kind of reasoning that we have so many unfinished products or products with many annoying bugs that give you a bad taste in the mouth. I think it's better to let HB answer why they chose not to fix this seemingly easy bug after 1 year ; I think it's a legitimate question by Zeagle. I also think it's better development etiquette to finish the product you released before releasing more but again, it's DCS :) -
[RESOLVED] Missing bomb/rocket rack in some loadout
Mirknir replied to Mirknir's topic in Bugs and Problems
Came back to the F14 after 8 month and it's still not fixed! Is this going to be fixed for the next big update you guys are releasing the 18th? I don't see anything in your release posts. -
@QuiGon Ok I wasn't sure it was automatic. I am always confused about the missile logic and whether the ground crew, the pilot or the missile decides about the behaviors. HoJ or not, Loft or not, if a Fox3 goes pitbull and when... Some aircrafts seems to have some options they can setup like loft or not and some doesn't. I've also heard that the active guidance of the Sparrow was not always activated and sometimes it could only be used as Fox1 (I think in PD STT) Also to me, automatic HoJ seemed dangerous in a fur ball so I thought it was an option the pilot needed to setup in the SMS I'll have to read more about it ; about how this different missile parameters are activated in real life and how it is in DCS ; maybe there are shortcut taken by DCS or features not yet implemented since 90% of the modules are in early access :) Thanks

For more context, in the mission, the F15s are AIs and I gave them AIM7-M. I am not sure AIs even use HOJ feature but maybe...

In what some would describe as a pure self-less and heroic act, I turned back and sacrificed myself to save my teammate Vyrtuoz to avoid having to say to his wife and his 6 kids that he didn't come back from the front... All this for nothing because I didn't know the AIM7 was secretly a fox3

[RESOLVED] Missing bomb/rocket rack in some loadout
Mirknir replied to Mirknir's topic in Bugs and Problems
Any information about this? Is this being worked on? -
When I rearm with the loadout in the screenshot, I don't have racks inbetween my bombs or rockets and the belly of the F14 like you can see on the screenshot. It's not critical but I figured I would still report it. Thanks

ME: Take off from Ground - Uncontrolled
Mirknir replied to Highwayman-Ed's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Here is a way to do that: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4245880&postcount=9 -
I search for this too and I found your post so I am going to post my solution here in case someone else find this. In DCS\MissionEditor\modules\me_aircraft.lua Find updateVisibleUncontrolled Replace the local bVisible = (bBotUnits == true and vdata.group.route.points[1].type == panel_route.actions.takeoffParking) with local bVisible = (bBotUnits == true and (vdata.group.route.points[1].type == panel_route.actions.takeoffParking or vdata.group.route.points[1].type == panel_route.actions.takeoffGround)) then start/restart your DCS This change will be wiped everytime you update your DCS tho but at least, it's working

Thanks a lot ; I was sure I was missing something.

Hello, I am not sure it's a bug or part of something I haven't seen yet in my training. However, when I select a waypoint, the HSD gives me wrong dst/hdg information. On my screenshot, the blue information seems incorrect. I have selected the waypoint 5 (set in the mission editor) which is at Hdg:324 but the HSD tells me Hdg:246. Are these information actually not related to the current WP? Am I reading this wrong? Am I missing something? Thanks for the help Attached screen and miz. I was on the JF17 from Lar Airbase. I was playing with a friend in multiplayer and we noticed that my laser was still on even after I stopped lasing ... then I shut down the pod and the laser was still there ... then I cut the power to the pod and the laser was still visible. My friend could thus see my exact position with NVG which made me the opposite of stealth :megalol: Can you guys take a look at this bug? If needed, I can find a way to give you the track file but it's huge and I don't think it's specific to the mission. Having a blast with the JF17, thanks!

Thanks for the quick answer. Individual keybinds would be super nice. What's EA? :)

Hello, To access Jester command faster, I would like a key to open a non contextual menu from which I can remember what key sequence to type to get to what i want. For example, when I bvr, menu - 2 - 2 will lock the target but when i get to wvr, it will switch to the menu to 'drop tanks' (whether i have tanks or not btw) Is there a way to make menus more predictible so I can type the command super fast without wondering what mode Jester dexide to be? In the heat(blur) of the battle, it can be frustrating to have Jester change context on you. Or.. Is there a way to map Jester individual commands on specific controls? Thanks

[FIXED] RWR new contact sound bug. Constantly beeping.

oh nice. ty. I didn't check this part of the forum ; I wasn't sure it was a bug since my mission was very busy with air targets. -
[FIXED] RWR new contact sound bug. Constantly beeping.
Mirknir replied to DarkStar79's topic in Fixed Bugs
[FIXED] RWR 'New Threat' sound constantly triggering Hello When I am playing the JF17 in a busy war theater, I have the New Threat sound constantly triggering and it's a long sound :hmm: I was wondering if there were settings somewhere to configure the RWR more precisely. Beside lowering 'MSL' volume which can be dangerous  or changing 'ThreatNew.wav' to something more subtle ; is there a way to silence or decrease this spam? Thanks -
Ok thank you for the answers. I will wait until i see some fixes in the patch notes. Is the mirage still being worked on or are they full time on new stuff? Ive seen screenshots of the m2000 pilot so i guess its still being worked on?

Hello I've been wanting to get my hands on the M2000 but I've heard / read of lot of complains about new bugs. Is it a good time to buy the M2000? Is the plane in a good state? Is it still being worked on? I don't see much of Razbam in patch notes Thanks for the informations Mirknir

[FIXED] CTD since latest update, not sure what's causing it.

Hello Testing the JF17, I've also had a lot of massive FPS drop and crash / crash to desktop playing this test mission. Take the JF17 SEAD and launch LD10 on the SAMs. I've attached the mission and some crash logs. I hope it will help. Unit Testing.miz Logs.zip -
Hello Guys, For the few of you maintaining this thread alive: yes I am still alive :) When I closed the server, I actually quit DCS as well because the game seemed shallow for me without my baby to play on. On the up side, I felt somehow unburdened. As of now, I don't plan on coming back. I miss the server terribly and interacting with you guys even more but I also remember all too well the struggles and the stress of hosting this server. I just don't want to fall in the same situation of struggling for time, money and dealing with toxicity and broken features. I got burnt trying to maintain a certain level of quality and I am afraid to end up there again. Even if the online was not addressed by Wags in his November letter, I am still secretly hoping that ED will someday create a special status for public server owner. It could decrease the time and money needed for hosting a server and create a better communication and synergy between the 2 parties. I have yet to test 2.5 but I am kept informed of the progress by the Wardogs. I am glad to learn the 2.5 seems like a new game and also less of a shit show that 1.5 was at the end. When I have a computer capable of running it properly, I'll try it and see if I can still kill stuff with my Su27 :) I hope you guys understand and won't too be disappointed! I feel like I should end up with another inspiring quote of Taylor -Icewoman- Swift because she doesn't get enough credits in DCS: "There is more to life than dating the boy on the football team" Reflect on this next time you are choosing F15 :)

You are welcome and thanks for playing my little server. Developing Skynet and the exotic support missions was a blast and one of the fun part :pilotfly: And happy new year everyone!

Thanks for all the messages guys. I didn't know my ghetto server hosted under my TV was so appreciated  It means a lot to me...

Oops... I got confused. Fixed :)
