  1. Thanks for the suggestions. I mainly wanted to see the visual stuff. I didn't know about TacView, I will take a look at it. My PC supports ShadowPlay it can help too. The only think is that recording software only records the image and can't change views on the reply. But it will help.
  2. Thanks for the information. It's a shame as it would be great to have this option, and will make the replays more enjoyable.
  3. Looking at replays is great, but I think it's very hard to see some best moments as is impossible to control or acces the replays. Some times I like to watch a landing replay and I need to go though all the replay to see it. It would be great if replay can be accessed at any time during the flight and have play controls to go back, forward, play and pause and jump to a specific time.
  4. Thanks for the advice. But of course if I've already paid for BS1 and the update to BS2 I will not pay again for the same product. When I purchased the upgrade I knew BS1 was needed, but not that I will have to reinstall everything and validate every time. I think is better for the clients that once BS1 activation and purchased the update this should be converted to a BS2 license.
  5. It would be great if we can register BS1 and bond it to our user account or validate once and then have BS2 ready to install. After formating my systems now I have to install BS1 + Activate + DCS World + BS2. This is a lot of work and time.
  6. I think he has problems starting the APU. So must be the APU fuel shut-off valve. You can start the APU, but not engines, with rotor brake on.
  7. Did you open the APU fuel shut-off valve? I can't see this step in your instructions and is basic for the APU to start. For the APU to run you need electricity to spin the APU and fuel. So basically if you have batteries on, fuel pumps and APU fuel shut-off open you can start it. Then just select starter to APU (to the left) and click the start button. You should see the APU EGT indicator raise and the green lights on in the APU indicators.
  8. What I really miss is the antialias options in the DCS graphical options menu. I've tried setting this from nVidia control panel but is totally ignored. So no antialias at all. :(
  9. I first used some curves to soften small control inputs. After reading some comments about not using them I've restored curves to default linear input. Now trimming works perfect with my force feedback joystick. I had some problems before and it's possible this was due to the axis settings. So I've only added a small (10) death zone on all axis and using default curve settings.
  10. That's great! Thanks to your explanations I've learned a lot about how those fire suppression systems work. Now I have everything more clear and I see that a fire agent discharge on the engine it's not as dangerous as I thought. Thanks a lot for you help! :)
  11. This is totally clear and, in fact, is how I understood it works. Ok! Here was my mistake. I though that the bottles used some kind of solid agent that will destroy the engine if discharged. Now I find more logical to use Halon or Freon agents as they can't harm any system. But I suppose that discharging a Freon bottle on the engine will cause an engine flame out. So you will need to execute some engine restart procedure. Right? It's a shame there're no emergency procedures check list on the manual. With the amazing detail of this simulation will be great to practice and learn this procedures.
  12. Does this mean that the Ka-50 has a system that doesn't allow to discharge a bottle if there's no fire warning active? Or this system is not totally simulated on DCS? I understand that after a bottle discharge the affected element (engine, APU or gearbox) should be totally damaged and inoperative.
  13. Thanks for confirming it. I agree it would be great to have voice IP included inside DCS as doing multiplayer with text chat while piloting the Ka-50 and trying to attack targets would be crazy.
  14. I've still not tryed multiplayer mode. Can you tell me Schutz if there's some kind of voice IP communication on multiplayer?
  15. Tartan thanks a lot for your clear and detailed explanation of how the fire suppression system works. I will test it as soon as I can. I agree with mckee14. If you press the button you shouldn't be fliying the helicopter. But as normally this switches are more complex to use in commercial planer I just wanted to know how it worked in the Ka-50. On a Boeing 737 for example you have to pull the extinguisher control out and then twist to one side or the other to discharge the bottles. I understand that possiblities of an engine fire are more provable in a militar helicopter and just pressint a button is faster in combat. To Xjikz: That's right in auto mode bottle 1 should discharge automatically and you can pray for the fire to extinguish. I understand that if this is not enought fire warning will remain lit and you need to discharge bottle 2 manually. Of course after a fire and bottle discharge the engine will be totally ruined and useless. The fire suppression system is used to extinguish the fire so the helicopter doesn't blow on the air when the fire goes bigger. So you can land with your remaining engine and survive or even save the helicopter.
  16. I was following a checklist where it says to test the fire warnings by placing the switch in test mode. I've tryed many switch combinations and pressed all the fire warning switches without any lights or indications working. Does this system work at all? Also I've seen that the red buttons to use the fire extinguishers can be pressed with a single mouse click. This means that clicking one of them by error can totally destroy one engine during flight. Some body knows how this buttons work in real live? They must have some kind of fool protection. Regards!
  17. Thanks for confirm it. Then it seems that replay controls will be a good addition to DCS wish list...
  18. I've found that after finishing a mission I can click the green watch button and I can see a full replay of the last flight. This is great and it even registers and reproduce my TrackIR movements and mouse clicks. But I've found no way of controlling this reproduction. I think it should be some kind of play, stop, rewind and f.forward buttons to control this. I'm missing something or there's no way to control the mission replay? Regards!
  19. Thanks a lot AlphaSix for this check list. It's just what I was looking for and I hope to see the Taxi Checks, BTO, ATO and BLC sections finished soon. :) They are really useful when in the Ka-50 cockpit!
  20. The Cessna 172 that I fly at my school and in fact all Cessnas without IFR equipment. :music_whistling: All Cessnas has same lights (Beacon, Nav, Taxi and Landing) and many also strobes. But not all of them have full IFR equipment. My Cessna don't have DME or ILS, that are required for IFR flying, but has beacon, nav, taxi and langing lights. Lights are used in the same way during day or night.
  21. That's right! I've read many times that I have to press trim then move cyclic and then release trim. But maybe this is due to a limitation on not FF joysticks as I don't see many sense in doing this. What trimmer does is set a new center on the current cyclic position and eliminate forces. So I think is more naturar to set desired attitude and when reaching a stable helicopter click and release trim to keep this without any pressure. I will try to change centering force and diferent FFB settings to see the effects on the trim system and come back with the results.
  22. I will try to make changes on the FFB as you suggested and report back the results. I think there must be some problem related to this. What seems wrong is that sometimes it seems I get some timming and FFB functions and others nothing at all. I haven't swapped any axis. One weird thing is that looking at the control input visualizer (RCtrl+Enter) I can see clearly that the trimmer is not working for the pitch and roll axis, but works perfectly for the rudder axis. I command right pedal, click trim and the right pedal control indicator stays exactly there. I command cyclic right roll, click trim and the control indicator returns to center. Really weird.
  23. I've been doing some testing and search information about the trim system on the Ka-50. After many test I reached the conclusion that there's something wrong with it. I've tryied to create a mission for a test fly. I've tryied a cold start from the parking and a running start from the runway. On both situations trim button was totally ignored. No force feedback response and no trimming on the cyclic. Trim button was working becouse when activating auto-hover mode the small square reseted when pressing trim. I've activated control visualization with RCtr+Enter and noticed that cyclic always returned to the center of the cross position. Then I tryed instant action and suddently trim seems to work and I have also force feedback, even joystick vibrates during flight. I've checked input visualization. The cyclic positon diamon was on a forwar centered position. Then I tryed to add some roll by turning to the right and press trim. The diamond on the input visualizer instead staying on the right as commanded returned to a center forward positon. I've also noticed that when activating flight director I have a double line indicator in the HUD that seems to keep attitude every time I press trim button. The only axis that seems to react as expected to trim is the rudder axis. If I press right pedal to get about 50% right yaw and press trim the rudder indicator on the visualizer stays exactly there. I've still not found any logic on this behaviour and I'm totaly confused.
  24. Buggy trimmer behaviour I've been doing some testing and search information about the trim system on the Ka-50. After many test I reached the conclusion that there's something wrong with it. 25. Thanks for your reply. As you say when I move the stick the little diamond moves according to my control. When I click and release trim buttom sometimes I feel a force change on the stick. My joystick then stays in a different position and seems more loose. It doesn't stay in the exact position but centering force is different as if it was in the original position. Maybe this is a hardware limitation of the joystick (Logited Force 3D Pro). Sometimes it seems that clicking the trim button has no effect. Here's where I can't understand what's happening with trimming. As I said there isn't any clue of the trim settings on the controls visualizer. It would be great if the cross center sets his position according to the current trim setting.
