  1. He really wanted to see Montana... Glad he did in Jurassic Park, oh and he had a RV too!
  2. This sheds more "light" on the particular subject... Forgive the pun haha https://www.passagemaker.com/technical/dim-white-at-night-red-night-lights-a-scientific-blunder
  3. Make a DCS video recording or track... I wasn't able to turn the aircraft around at all trying to follow the movements of what the cockpit video showed the aircraft was capable of doing. I tried to use visual in cockpit references of where the aircraft is positioned in relation to the ship. You can see in my DCS video I move the mouse cursor around in horizontal plane showing the edge of the ship's bow in relation to the right pilot mirror. The RIO glare shield for the radar being in line with the edge of the deck of the ship when the aircraft stops moving forward and begins the turn to point aft and park. These aren't exact 100% visual references but they are close approximations based on line of sight and spatial relationship between 2 objects... It is the same principle as flying off visual references in formation.
  4. We had selectable white/red overhead lighting in the cabin on our firetrucks. And also, during my short experience on the USS Gettysburg they used red overhead lighting in the passageways that were immediately connecting / leading to the exterior of the ship for this very purpose too.
  5. Maximum NWS deflection in the real Tomcat is 70 degrees.
  6. Red, unlike white flood lighting preserves your night vision and you don't lose it.
  7. You are correct, sir (as far as NATOPS says) The toe brakes thing is again another Hornet thing lol
  8. You guys constantly making me break out this NATOPS PDF to refer to lol...
  9. Different voiced AI than a Jester AI? Maybe something more authentic to a Persian cat both in callsign name and voice acting?
  10. https://www.navair.navy.mil/product/E-2D "Initial Operational Capability (IOC): October 2014" 2014!!!
  11. IDK why ED decided to model a E-2D instead of the ubiquitous E-2C...
  12. You gentlemen are most welcome, I love this aircraft and the work you all have done and continue to do to fine tune it.
  13. Except that the nose wheel can't move when the aircraft is stationary, where as on the real aircraft it can... And, this certainly effects the turning radius of the aircraft. Again, not a large issue right now as we have the benefit of empty space... But once these carrier decks get crowded to realistic levels it will become one.
  14. I want mustaches for the pilot models. LOL Also, the ability to remove the external fuel tank pylons (I'd like this for the USN Tomcats too, for when operating ashore as well)
  15. Pretty sure that you think that is what is happening currently in DCS, but if I have provided compelling proof here that it is not emulating the ground movement behavior of the real aircraft even in the slightest. Pay no attention to the [NO BUG] flag as it was added prior to my response and is in relation to the OP's post.
  16. Naquaii, I just wanted to draw your attention to this posting I made on here a while back visibly demonstrating that the NWS in the DCS Tomcat isn't actually behaving like the real aircraft. Not only is the NWS not doing this but also the OLEO on the nose wheel is like there is no constant force being imparted on it. "in DCS our nose strut doesn't compress on wheel brake application or when brakes are held also on power up" And the reason WHY in particular this NWS authority is important to solve sooner, rather than later is when our carrier decks become completely crowded with planes and equipment and personnel all over the deck, just like in a realistic environment. In this video you can see a Tomcat taxiing mid-deck in between cats 1 and 2 and it is able to turn around and park effortlessly alongside the other Tomcats parked abeam cat 2. In contrast, in DCS you can't do this even with an empty Fly 1 deck. Also, you can see how meticulously slowly they can inch the aircraft up using precision while taxiing... There is no crazy tire friction like we have in DCS. I made a video in DCS trying to mimic as best I can the taxi behavior seen in the above video (granted the real video is taken from the USS Eisenhower class of carriers) the result was abysmal. I also included a track. f-14a_cdeck_taxi.trk
  17. I know this was for the F-15C but I found it interesting to see in the patch notes lol because of the very discussion we had about the F-14 on here with different stores loadings. DCS Flaming Cliffs by Eagle Dynamics F-15C. External stores do not seem to generate a drag penalty - fixed.
  18. Hey guys, regardless of WHY the stabs on the Tomcat do X,Y,Z... The fact remains that in DCS currently when you watch Tomcats shot off the cats, they do not exhibit this characteristic behavior. I always thought the Tomcat looked somewhat unique doing something like this on cat shots, almost like it is pouncing into the air.
  19. Bingo! That is the one. So, the video I found shows the pilot execute pulling aft on the stick after the cat stroke and not throughout it. After pulling aft, she then adds roll to execute their deconfliction clearing turn.
  20. I also found footage of launch bar only lowering when the wheel is moved, ah it can also by lowered by hand by the deck crew too!
  21. Hey, I found this video from Nimitz CVN-68 from the 80s, but it shows how the meatball looks like from the Pilot perspective from an A-6. Also, the video seems older so I'd guess this is not IFLOLS.
  22. I swear there was a thread here that I read that said the pilot didn't and that it had to do with inertia force on the flight controls from the force of the catapult.
  23. Also, I just saw this! What appears to be a clean jet and 145ish knots... Granted, a tad bit faster than on-speed as shown by the HUD Staple (I'm guessing this is a D model or a upgraded HUD B model, etc...) In all of my testing at MAX Trap in DCS, I never got above 140 knots as IAS for on-speed AOA.
  24. Yeah, but there was a thread on this forums talking about the stabs on cat launch and people were saying it had to do with inertia and bell weighs and pulleys and all kinds of stuff regarding the flight controls reaction to the catapult launch. I looked for that thread and couldn't find it, if someone knows the thread I'm talking about and can find it I'd appreciate it if they could post it here.
  25. lol, I laugh because my friend in multiplayer did exactly that because his wings weren't swept forward. And just prior to that I hook-skipped into a 3 wire haha
