  1. I really do hope some public SDK will see the light of day that allows map creation, if anything that is what DCS needs!
  2. The first week was a "All hope is lost, woe is me!" moment, but I am sure such moments will arise for either side again during this campaign!
  3. Step 15 in the PART 4-START-UP PROCEDURE, is supposed to be the Fuel Cutoff and ought to be closed(cover down) during the start-up. It looks correct in the pictures though so maybe it was just a error in the writing. In step 14 I always put in on D or G and not VENT since the Engine Start sequence in the official manual put's is as "G or D as required". Anyway, I have no idea how valid my steps are compared to how you have written it down, I might just be going about it the wrong way but achieving correct results.
  4. Well, no they are more alike the AIM-7M then the AIM-120. The 120 doesn't even need guidance compared to the 530D.
  5. I think so, they look pretty out of place to be fair. Almost as if they are the wrong kind of particle/shader in the engine.
  6. ZHeN, could you post a track showing what you did at what time stamp? Then we might have a good idea what went wrong. I've only shot at helicopters a few time but so far with a pretty good succes rate.
  7. Make sure the throttle on the left has not advanced beyond idle cutoff, if it is slightly forward click on the red button right next to the throttle, sometimes mine starts a bit forward so I tend to check the throttle before anything else. Also note that Chuck's guide is outdated and is only useful for a quick primer I've discovered. Can't blame him really since the aircraft is constantly being updated.
  8. I've noticed that the missiles pretty much fire as soon as you depress the button, you do not need a lot or any special permissions. Perhaps that is not realistic?
  9. Voted yes, fits in the turboprop trainer range but is weapons capable, would probably be great to operate together with helicopters!
  10. Awesome! Count me in, PM sent!
  11. What sort of experience is required? I have mostly flown the helicopter campaigns and haven't gotten far yet with fighters.
  12. Round five was great as red, lonewolfs4ever ;)!
  13. Honestly, radar and GCI is important to find the helicopters when in a fast mover, haven't spotted any with the ol' mk2 eyeball. Nor have I seen them get slaughtered in a bigger way then last campaign on TACVIEW.
  14. Small enlargement seems to work fine, haven't noticed any glaring issues with it though. It's worth a shot using it for a while to see if it really works well. So far the server seems very stable compared to last round, and I love the information the new website provides! The M2000, although having some issues seems to be handling fine in the MP environment. Unfortunately I do not know how the Mig-21 handles this round, I picked BLUFOR to fly the M-2000C this time round. Does the Mig-21 perhaps the nuclear option? I saw a massive crater a few days ago that looked like a AN-24/28 impact zone. I do hope LNS will be able to fix the radar before the round starts! Well done so far Greg and the rest of the team!
  15. Cheers! I do hope so!
  16. Perhaps not allowing players to switch teams after joining a FO slot? Perhaps even shaming them publicly if they'd attempt that?
  17. Had a look in the editor at the campaign missions and most start at 0900 and all use the same weather settings.
  18. It's been a pleasure fighting with and against you all! Perhaps the 1st Air Cav, 229th will be there in force next time!
  19. Ah I see, well the first 3 campaign missions are also playable as single missions, could you check in 1.5.3 if you have that installed if the weather is any different between those 3?
  20. I am now in Mission 4 in the campaign of the Mi-8MTV, and I've noticed that the weather/start time has been the same for all four missions so far. Is this by design or is it a bug? I am playing in DCS 1.5.3.50487 So far the campaign has been a joy to fly!
  21. Turning zoom off is a terrible idea, often times I use it to actually seem my instruments correctly or have a look in the mirror in the Mi-8. Not everyone has a 4k monitor with plenty of pixels!
  22. I have no idea either Maverick, they are doing a excellent job!
  23. NaCH speaks the truth! I quite often find a airfield run completely dry in the morning!
  24. Excellent news Deadbeef! 2.5 hours might be nice, although I already find it a bit frustrating that any defensive measures that might take a while to setup get wiped every round restart.
  25. Daniel, why not take a chopper and do a refuel run? Or spawn on krasnador which is only a small flight to maykop. Both krasnador bases are much easier to keep resupplied. Spawning aircraft on forward bases is a really bad idea given that choppers cannot redeploy defenses anymore if all fuel is used.
