  1. Thanks for the tips, Fries. I went out and got the Warthog and Saitek pro combat pedals so that's now sorted. I've been flying a lot of Su-25T, or I've been *trying*. Damn manpads... Lately I've been thinking about getting the Ka-50, but think I'll go Huey first then. hehehe fun seeing EF2000 again! Think I'll pass, though :D
  2. It's not like you have to download every time you load up :) It's a one time download, just put it on overnight
  3. Oh... I was just about to buy Black Shark 2, but not too keen on playing with textures I can't read... Got a link to that updated version so I can have a look beforehand? Edit: added "2"
  4. Where can I find this promotional material? Would just like to sift through. I guess DCS appeals to a more mature crowd where the hype machine has limited effect, good thing Bunyap, thanks for the summaries so far. I watched the stream, but for some reason missed the Q&A so this was great. Keep making 'em :)
  5. I'm really starting to regret not buying Black Shark 2 when there were sales. The more videos I watch the more awesome it seems. DCS World 2.0 with higher res textures on the ground will probably make it even better! Oh well, I'll just get it for the full price knowing it's for a good cause :)
  6. That tutorial series is what made me get into simming and DCS actually. I watched the first 6-7 or so a few years ago but the series was not finished. He just finished the last ones not so long ago. I've got a few hours in the Su-25T now, but that ball on the HUD I have yet to completely understand. I normally just fly the needles on the HSI
  7. Maybe ALT+C ?
  8. Woao that's great! I was hoping for maybe once a month or just every-once-in-a-while. Weekly is great! And 18 UTC is also quite perfect. Lots of people will be very happy that they can watch the archived version too.
  9. - RWR OFF! - Ingame volume down - Voice up - More action - Helos! I hope to see more of these streams! I do wish they would be an hour or two earlier, especially during working days
  10. Not too sure about the NTTR map.. Seems quite desolate and boring to be honest. Whatever content is created there willl just be whoever has the best aircraft wins because hardly any place to hide or use trickery in. Weather there is more or less always sunny and clear too, no?
  11. Awesome, thanks. Eagerly waiting for the feed to start :D
  12. For us timezonely challenged - HOW LONG NOW?!?
  13. In the graphics options try setting "Res. of cockpit displays" higher
  14. I take it the first post of this thread is outdated now(?). Is there an updated guide I could follow without reading this whole thing?
  15. What a great idea! I'll be doing this before the summer is over
  16. Great link, just the clarification I was looking for! I'm about to give up on the frogfoot so this was a good place to check out what to try next. I was set on the F-86F but was majorly disappointed to see it didn't have any traning or campaign :( Then I thought Mig 21! I only played through the first training. Seems like it was not taken very seriously and was more of a joke than actual training so nah.. So now it's time to try my hand at the P-51D! I know, the grass is always greener... :D
  17. Howdy, I was wondering if there is a list somewhere that ranks the different modules by how deep they're simulated? Like, as far as I understand the FC3 ones aren't the most detailed aircrafts whereas the A10C is quite deep. I would like to know this list from top to bottom
  18. I got all of them apart from the trainers, helo and Combined Arms. :) I must have missed the 75%, though.
  19. Thanks for the tips, much appreciated!
  20. Great link, thanks! I'm slowly starting to remember what is what. I think I've flown the first campaign mission around 20 times now and have yet to make any progress. How I am supposed to fly close enough to identify AA stuff, lock and fire without getting shot down myself is a GREAT mystery to me. I've tried running with the phantasmagoria pod and moving waypoints far out to sea to give me time to wipe out AA before I go in for tank kills, but I always get shot down. Quite the mission to throw at beginners as the very first mission they'll fly! :p Edit: 24th time lucky I guess! F***ing finally made it through. Not sure what I did differently than the other times, though. Editedit: I realize this is getting way offtopic, so I'll refrain from posting more of this here
  21. So, I've completed all the training stuff for the Su-25T and thought I'd start the campaign... jesus... Flew a couple of waypoints and then the RWR started screaming and wingmen were spamming - I was like a deer in the headlights; had no idea what to do and got shot down soon thereafter. Is there a trick to know what weapons are TV, IR or radar guided? There seem to be a whole lot of weapons and remembering fifty names along the lines of SPH-KGB529-3.2 300mm Mark 2 Shikram Bulgur seems impossible!
  22. Can I just ask quickly off-topic, when you are in landing mode in the su25t, where exactly are the HSI and HUD pointing? I was thinking it would be the start of a good approach (and it may yet be) but I haven't really gotten a sense of where it's pointing. Normally I see the airport and think something is wrong, let me just line up as I see fit and go from there.. Edit: Also the return mode, where is that taking me exactly? Editedit: actually, nevermind. These are probably just stupid questions that goes to show I must have missed something in the first tutorials. I will just refly them a few times and youtube a bit :)
  23. I like the idea of starting with the ww2 planes and working my way forward. I have however started with the su25t. Loving it so far. Took me quite a while to figure out how the HSI works (still not 100% sure), but it is fascinating stuff. The hard landing tutorial was also quite the challenge. Quite stressful to worry about glide slopes, speed, heading, hud mode, all at once! Anyway, loving it!
