  1. What makes you say that? They are a legitimate option. Seldom used, sure, but still legitimate. -Shadow
  2. In the special menu there is an option to apply to both the Mi-8 AND the L-39. Currently I can only see the GPS installed in the Mi-8 (that makes sense). Enjoy that piece of information. -Shadow
  3. Maybe it's a Gr7. I don't know the difference, never took the time to learn about the British Harriers -Shadow
  4. I would beg to differ. It's pretty hard to find a photo of a Gr9 without the outriggers rigged Source: Google Search: "AV-8 Gr9"
  5. Very cool information. Thank you. I've only ever seen a few pictures of US Harriers with the LAU-7s on outrigger stations, though the Brits seem to use them alot on the GR9s. Learn something new every day. Thanks Ramsay. -Shadow
  6. You should be to set the countries when you create a new mission. They are probably neutral in your mission currently. I do believe that Ukraine has an IL-78 as well. I would suggest you try different altitudes. I usually set my takers to around 25,000 feet and I think 380-400 kts. -Shadow
  7. I see, I figured it was something like that Thanks for the info. -Shadow
  8. But does anyone know how much they weigh? -Shadow
  9. I'd second that. I'd also buy both -Shadow
  10. Does anyone know the weights of the actual pylons for Stations 1/7, 2/6, and 3/5? I can't seem to find them. I'm curious why the Harriers tend to leave them attached when not in use and the performance impact. -Shadow
  11. You can set the speed of the tankers orbit in the orbit menu page in the mission editor. That is the speed that it will fly when you call to refuel, the speed in the route editor part is what it flies the rest of the time. (Note, the speed switch occurs when the tanker tells you to move to precontact) You can use the IL-78 in the USAF Agressor or add the IL-78 to other countries, but I'm not at my computer to tell you how to do that. I think it's in the Lua file for the liveries. -Shadow
  12. You may be right, I don't know. I always figured, dare I say, size mattered. But really, I think it boils down to hose legnth. The IL-78 has a much longer hose than the S-3. Which leads me to believe that the acceptable connection area is much larger than the S-3 as well. I have never really noticed much of a difference between the two (other than the initial spotting be free joining). But I haven't refueled on them other than in the Mirage. -Shadow
  13. Well, the S-3 has 'little man' syndrome. His hose is so...short, compared to the IL-78................ -Shadow
  14. Does anyone know what how the RWR is displayed in the Harrier? -Shadow
  15. Wasn't there just a video where they were dropping GBU-12s? -Shadow
  16. Every week the Weekend Newsletter that gets posted to the site produces a notification for Tapatalk users like 5 or 6 hours before you can actually view the post. It's a weird Tapatalk thing. I never have the issue on PC. -Shadow
  17. This, 1 Million times this. -Shadow
  18. Nothing is stopping you from still using it. It takes a small amount of imagination to pretend you need it. To me it seems about the same as the lights and tones test. I always do that and I know the lights are never broken. -Shadow
  19. See I was thinking something simular, but expanding the area that the current FARPS allow for all that. Same concept but the FARP object has a bigger bubble it's effect at. But it near a road and give us a, I don't know 50x50 meter metal grating (simular to the helipads at FARPS actually) we could place on the other side of the road for the jets to taxi onto done. -Shadow
  20. Proof of concept is already in game, RE: Black Shark and Gazelle. I'm sure it will be. -Shadow
  21. Oh, you know what I meant. -Shadow
  22. As a generality, you're not going to VTOL with more than the lightest of combat loads. Even weighed down during a stovl you will probably need less than full fuel. One of the things I like about this aircraft is that you need to think things through be free the flight to be successful. I've heard that on the blue flag server they managed to get viggens at a farp. Not sure how or what it looks like, so there is hope -Shadow
  23. You can fall just about anything is all just s matter of using the mission editor. Poke around and find what you'd like. The helicopter uses an ins assisted by GPS. Effectively, if everything is work is pure GPS, but because if terrain masking or other factors you may not have a signal, it will then switch to INS. I forget what the symbology is but it's explained in great detail in the manual. The PVI 800 uses an internal INS that works like every other INS system, they aren't terribly complicated. If you want a challenge, turn off your abris, and PVI and navigate via NBD and dead reconning. You'll have to fly a specific heading and airspeed or track an NBD all at the same time. It makes you really good in the helicopter. Then do it in the fog, in the rain, at night, from one airport to another. And land all with like 1000m of visibility. -Shadow
  24. Sounds like an ED issue. But adding the take off from ground option should solve it as if you set the jet up on a road and build enough around it you can do pretty well. -Shadow
  25. You mean like this? -Shadow
