My thoughts exactly. Seems like a simple fix, but I don't know the coding for it, maybe it's complicated Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T707A using Tapatalk

Has the possibility to create a custom throttle range option been explored at all? Namely for the use of afterburner detents that some HOTAS already have? I know that it is possible to create a curve that will put the military power stop as whatever position you like. But since this is a curve, the power movement will not be linear to that point. Closer to higher settings more throttle movement will be required to change the engine RPM than at lower settings. Here is an example of what I mean vs what I'm suggesting: My suggestion is to have a button, preferably in the controls screen that allows you to set a custom point on your throttle curve, beyond which, the afterburner will be engaged. For example, I move my throttle through 80% of it's play, now I push the button. From now on 80% of my throttles' motion will move the throttle to the mil power stop, 81% and beyond are only afterburner settings. Allowing for a linear progression through all power regimes.

I know he said he was working on it back in July, just haven't heard anything from him since, either in PM or his threads.

Are there any good English cockpit mods around for the Mirage? I used to use "gospadin's" english cockpit mod, but after an update in June his version 0.87 was rendered obsolete due to some changes in the texture files. Ever since then I haven't been able to find one. Anyone know where I might find one?

Any updates since .87?

Despite the frequency for Class A mishaps this year, the mishap rate is still lower at this time this year than it was at the same time last year, at least for the US Naval Services

F-18 grip, WARTHOG compatible
Shadow_1stVFW replied to hegykc's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Serious thought though, there are a lot of recent announcements from 3rd part developers on aircraft being released in the "near" future that we haven't heard any progress on any control stick of throttle grips for on this thread. I know he's said he's planning on releasing something for every module. If it's possible, I'm sure I"m not the only one who'd like to hear some news on the newer module announcements and their grips coming down the pipe. There was a graphic a while back with a bunch of the prototype mock ups a while back, can we get a new one of those? -
F-18 grip, WARTHOG compatible

I only check the thread when I see updates because I'm sadistic. Haha, and maybe one time it'll actually be finished -
It was kind of tongue in cheek. I just never understood why, with such a beautiful one piece canopy, we chose to install the HUD pictured here, which is on the block 40. Kills forward visibility.
-
I see your point, but then with the block 40 came the War HUD. Because, you know, that bubble canopy was too good.

Didn't actually watch the video, but very well. I stand corrected Hummingbird. But HiJack, no, it is not still under development. Not by the definition of the word. If you were to think of an anology of writing a paper, under development would mean the paper isn't complete. That the body of the paper still needs work. The F-35 has been developed. It's in its proof reading stages now. Last year it reached IOC (initial operating capacity) and as of this month 3 USMC squadrons have been stood up. Clearly foreign partners are receiving aircraft and the USAF has started accepting aircraft. What's happening is, like every other airplane in existence, one it starts getting produced more bugs are discovered. They'll be documented and sent in for study, a fix, if any are necessary will be produced, and the existing jets will be retrofitted and the new ones will have the fi off the floor. That's not development. Most aircraft undergo this type of upgrade cycle throughout their life time. Like I said, proof reading. Now, what confuses the casual observer is that the USN hasn't started accepting aircraft. The reason is, from the get go, the Navy said it wouldn't accept any jets until software update 3F, I think it is, might be J, but I'm fairly certain it's F. Is released. And that is supposed to happen at the same time that the jet reaches FOC, (Final operational capacity [side note, which I think is a bogus term, but that's besides the point]). And that hasn't happened yet. The software for 3F is still in the developmental stages, yes. But to call the entire airframe under development because it doesn't have software for functionality for weapons and sensors that don't exist yet is a bit of a misnomer. Point being, if you want to say the jet is under development until at least all the US services accept their aircraft, then we'll just have an "incomplete" aircraft taking the fight to the enemy until the Navy hops on board. But they are weighing options against the Advanced Super Hornet.
-
Not really. It means it's probably going slower than the F-16 during the pass. Which means it's controllable at a lower airspeed which means it performs better at lower speed. Kind of how the hornet can hold a much higher AOA and remain controllable at lower speeds.

Yes, yes. I've never flown the Mirage, but having flown other tactical jets, this is great. Like I said, the feeling that you get flying it around is awesome. The fly by wire is beautifully modeled. Every day I've been testing new regimes to take this aircraft to and I'm always impressed. I look forward to more work from RAZBAM
-
Ah, I see. Thanks. Didn't come across that one on my search.

To start, I'd like to say great job, and thank you for a wonderful module RAZBAM. I've been eyeing the Mirage as a module for quite some time now, toying with the idea of finally getting into a fully modeled fighter in DCS. A friend of mine purchased a few month ago while it was still in EARLY early beta and was not too pleased. I've been keeping an eye out, watching videos and reading the updates for it. With the flash sale this weekend I decided that for 35 dollars I had no real reason not to give it a try. Can I just say I was not in any way disappointing. I just can't put this module down. It feels great to fly. The FBW modeling is very well done. The external model is outstanding. The overall feeling of flying a tactical jet is superbly captured, great job. I don't want to get into the minutia of what's not completed yet (I mean, it's still beta, I can't hold that against you) but from what you have already completed, I very excited for the rest to be complete. I'd type more, but I need to get to work soon, and this module keeps taking my time, haha. A friend and I just practicing some formation Me refueling and my buddy up in observation We got three friends together to do some work Gorgeous modeling, I can't say that enough Skins available here Courtesy of coronaman

I'm not sure if this is user error or not but I have found 3 spots in my cockpit that seem to be missing textures. First two are the ADF frequency readout windows, they are partially covered in a blue rectangle. The frequencies can be observed to change underneath and the INOP yellow flag, when active, displays over the blue rectangle Second is the turn coordinator beneath the main attitude gyro. To note, these were discovered following a brand new install of the module with Devrim's English cockpit mod installed with JSGME. These bugs are present with or without the English cockpit mod installed. And they are present without regard to cockpit lighting.

Hello, I've sent you a PM, I pill be willing to help if you need. USMC pilot. Flown 100 hours in the T-6, which is pretty much derived from the Tucano, and a lot of hours in tactical jets. Let me know. Thanks

Out of curiosity, how large is you F-16 fleet?
-
Well, looks like not so much. They agreed to buy 28 as of now. http://www.defensenews.com/story/defense/air-space/strike/2016/06/09/denmark-f35-buy-official-lockheed-terma-joint-strike-fighter/85640718/

KA-50 ADF Plaque in Russian
Shadow_1stVFW replied to Shadow_1stVFW's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Alright, so after some messing around, here is what I have, maybe I'm doing something wrong. The avionics language is set to English: I'm using Ricardo's Cockpit Mod I changed a couple of the presets. Belsan, Mozdok and Nalchik And here is what it shows in game: At the end of the day, it isn't the worst thing in the world I guess. As I understand it, this should be in English though and I'm just trying to discern where I'm taking a wrong turn. -

Shadow_1stVFW replied to Shadow_1stVFW's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Yeah, I've already done that. I really don't know what's causing it. I'm planning on making some custom plates tomorrow. I don't know, maybe changing it around will do the trick. It's a stock KA-50 just with Ricardo's black cockpit mod in English. The avionics are set to English and such. I don't know. the panel always comes up in Russian. -

Alright man, I've been trying to figure this out off and on for months. I keep coming back to this file: I don't know what to change, if you don't mind, can you help out? -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 5
Shadow_1stVFW replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
Maybe instead they respwan quickly after capturing the base . 5 or 10 minutes maybe minutes maybe. If the attack stalls and you can't close it. It's kind of a natural consequence that your foretold is down for a while. That's what happens after an attack. No more dedicated slots, so it shouldn't be a killer that the bunkers respawn in order.
