Hey, just installed this very cool tool with the release of 1.5.6 OB update to branch. I guess I did something wrong. Now my DCS UI is very dark now after updating from 1.5.5 release to 1.5.6 OB. This is at all times in the 2D It's a very similar brightness to when the UI is loading information, like logging in or when you first click the modules button. I'm not sure how to fix it. I've tried removing the .exe and repairing both with and without this tool. The brightness is correct once the 3D world loads. But in the 2D UI it's always this dark. I've been looking around and searching but haven't been able to find this issue anywhere else. Thanks.

Blank AC information knee board pages
Shadow_1stVFW replied to Shadow_1stVFW's topic in Resolved Bugs
Images as promised Here we see blank kneeboard (all three pages look like this Here is a downloaded check list Here is the default pages I've tried this with no mods installed, on a repaired install, same results. Happy hunting, I'd be happy to provide anymore info if needed. -
Not sure if it's just me, but after updating to 1.5.6 my keyboard no longer displays any information for the 3 information pages. All the other pages work, both default and standard. I've deleted everything from the knee board folder and repaired my install and still blank. Other modules are alright. I'll attach a screen shot when I get on the computer. I have the same issue. I don't know exactly what the issue is. I've done a lot of testing so, a few things. On your dives, check if you are faster that 0.8 or .82, or something like that, I tested that and it was a a break X every time. Moving too fast. I don't know if that number is correct, but it's there. The accuracy, I think it has something to do with the radar ranging and such. I believe the TAS mode is currently less accurate than RS because they don't have the ground mapping nailed down. But that was a while ago. So that may have changed. Lastly, something you may want to look at is your load factor on the jet at the time of the release. If you are not at 1G your CCIP pipper is inaccurate. And the more you are off the more inaccurate it will be. Those are the three best answers I have. I feel you. Hopefully we get an official answer on this. I've been very curious too. I just don't like asking too many questions as sometimes the community is a bit tough on asking questions. But good luck Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

Same way I feel. I don't really like doing either. Even if it were just inert weapons with no warhead and motor. The Police mode with this would be pretty good. This is one of those things for those really interested in realism. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

Since we have a rash of people doing it again. I'll remind us that we're on a public forum and everyone is entitled and free to give their opinion, in fact, that's how online communities work and thrive. There is nothing wrong with dissenting opinion and even very large corporations fail when no one accepts constructive criticism. Seeing as the OP felt obliged to post his project here, he's going to have to accept the community voicing their opinion on his project. In fact, he'd be well served to hear the thoughts of the community he allegedly wants to provide a product for. Keep the questions coming, I enjoy your conversations. By the way, great point about the licensing, when I get some more free time I'll have to look into that. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk -

Agreed, that's what I was saying. And you're right, my choice not to purchase was my own, I acknowledged that. I disagree with your statement "not being released when you hoped for." in a general sense because sure, I hoped it was going to be released when he said it would. Which is kind of besides the point. The part of what I said that you replied to I agree with you on. I've read all 153 pages of this thread, when it is on topic or off topic. And I'd also like to see a thread limited to product updates. But what we have is a thread for discussion. And I see where most everyone is coming from on most sides of all the issues. Either one, one person actually has the power to quickly change the conversation here, as discussed a few times now. Sounds like people would like to see more prototypes being worked on. I don't think that's an outlandish request. It's been voiced. So lets see what happens? -

Oh, absolutely. I generally try and keep my post substantive. (Haha, though sometimes people seem to be asking for sarcasm, but that's niether here nor there). But, especially in this thread, constructive criticism is necessary. That's why I suggested Hegykc send in something for a third party review. I think it'll give everyone a little of what they are looking for. He gets feedback on his design and construction, everyone else gets a closer look at it. They can drool over it, dream about it, or make suggestions. I don't know. Respect is key in a forum. Too often I think people confuse respect with affirmative feedback. That's just me. I don't not like hegykc or what he's doing, I just disagree with some things. And when and if I can make a logical point or counter point, I try too. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk -

I actually wholeheartedly disagree with you. This is a community forum, what bettet place than this for people to speak their opinion? That is indeed the point of a forum. Hegykc has a right to know what people thing of his project. Good or bad. It's gained a lot of attention here. And as a future small business owner, I'd hope that he at least listens to the base that he will, at some point, hope to serve. Side note, it is irksome when on a forum any group of people try to silence another because they don't agree. Communicate, respectively of course. But that's the point. Yu don't always have to agree Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk -

It's not so much a scam. Not at all. It just erodes my ultimate confidence in what will be his company. Remember, this is the very beginning of what could be a company. Some of us will be his customers. And when it comes to his reputation, this is what will be the beginning of his customer support. So right now, it's all about reputation. Hegykc, this past day or so has lead to an interesting conversation, hasn't it? It's very polarizing. Personally, I'm kind of on the fence. I both agree with you and I don't at the same time. You are 100% correct that you don't owe me anything. You never took my money, no quid pro quo, here. But at the same time, you have also, as pointed out earlier given a date for some of you products to be released. So, the way I came across your products might help you understand where I'm coming from. Around 2 years ago, a member on a different forum came to us with your thread, this one, about the F-18 grips. It had been a while since you started the thread and it was still about the grips. Owning a TM warthog myself, I was interested in the grips. The idea of changing my setup to help me was nice. Extendable stick, very interesting. I was on the fence about buying another HOTAS at the time, but figured that I'd wait it out. So I understand that you want to build an inventory first, so I stand by, remember it was supposed to be later in the year when you released. Then I think the A-10 panels started showing up. Cool. I think the printer was the issue that made you put the grips on hold. Cool. Then the printer came, but so did the FC3 panel. Then the Headclip. Now, at that point I was a bit perturbed that the grips weren't the focus, but I was still fine. Then you said the Headclip would be out by christmas. That was exciting. TrackIR works well, but yours seemed to be better. Was actually perfect because mine was falling apart, was ready to replace that. But Christmas and the new year came and went. If I remember, we didn't hear from you for a while. Then more panels came. Ect. I might not agree with your business strategy, but it's your business strategy, do as you wish. I do take a little offense that you give dates, be they general or not, then extend. Only because it grows distrust and skepticism. But your products do *seem* nice. I say seem because no one can take anything but your word. Which, as we discussed, isn't exactly held in the highest regard. Now, I do appreciate that you do at least update your progress and projects. That communication, to me at least, let's me know that you're passionate about what you're doing. Which is important to me. But I'm reminded that early in this thread, about the grips, you said that you started that project for you and some friends to make your simming better. Which is just as fine. My recommendation, take it or leave it, it makes no difference to me, just my opinion. I would at least send one or two prototypes to a reviewer, I can name a few that are held in higher regard around here, but if you're interested we can PM about that. But what that does is it shows the community that you make an actual product, and gives a second opinion on it, hopefully a non biased one. Send a grip, and the head tracker for a product review. Receive some constructive feedback on your designs. And keep a profile of what you're working on and what your ultimate plan is. It's easier to follow if we know what you've done, where you're going and what the end state is. Should that change, fine, but a forum is a community and we'd just appreciate seeing what's going on. I'm sure others, like me, have changed plans on what hardware to buy or not buy based on what you've said in this thread. That's my only rub, is I've made decisions based on what you've said. So directly, no not your fault. But you do have a role in that, can you at least see that point of view? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk -

KA-50 ADF Plaque in Russian
Shadow_1stVFW replied to Shadow_1stVFW's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
So, in the mission editor there is a tab to program the ARK presets to whatever you want. Just need to look up the frequency and tune it. And that will change the panel accordingly, albeit still in Russian. (Haven't tried in 2.0, but I bet it works) My original question was how to translate that panel. No luck with that. I mean, if you know what you programmed in there, come to find out, it's not overly challenging to decode Cryllic. But I'm still looking for a translation. You're arguing that "people who can't afford it won't be able to afford it"... duh. But there is more to the bell curve also. Every new technology has people who can't afford it I'm say (just like 4k is now) it will become a lot more accessible to the average user. VR isn't that far from achieving that now, in its first generation. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk -

Simple, look at the price drop in LED screens larger than 14 inches in the last 5 years. Between the American, European and Russian simulation communities and the rising popularity of space sims there is indeed a lot of evidence that VR will drop. You've got the technology moving into cell phones and gaming consoles. It's not a niche market. Graphics cards, sure, they will stay about the same. But VR is fine Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk -

ED has very consistently, and rather recently stated that they still plan on releasing the F-18 in 2016. So seeing as the year is slowly coming to a close, that puts it's prospective release soon. Sure, you might not believe that they'll come through on that, but there are indeed plans to release it soon. And I'm sure a lot of people want the hotas prior to the module being released for day one enjoyment. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk -
