Here's a tutorial on how to minimize the landing roll for the Viper and the Hornet, when landing at an airfield. A comparison of the landing rolls of all modern jets in DCS is also included.

As the title says. When I render a video from a trk file (Record AVI function in the mission editor), the resulted file has great quality video, but no engine sound is present. Environmental sound can still be heard (cockpit beeps and wind, switch clicks, etc.), but no engine sound at all. AVI file, PNG, or Theora/Vorbis, same problem, whatever the plane. I am on the latest open beta, though I first noticed the problem months ago on beta and stable. Steam Edition is also affected. I repaired the installation folder, but the problem remains. Any workaround?

It's true, I hadn't thought about that. Thanks, I appreciate the feedback.

Yes, thanks! Already printed and bound. Looks like fantastic stuff.

Thank you so much for the feedback. Now it's just a matter of practicing to get it more or less right consistently. :) Is increasing the bank angle actually the right thing to do to counter the extra lift generated by the wings moved forward and the flaps to stay level in the break?

Don't diss the Kuz! It's a hell of a ship, always on fire! :megalol: Thank you. Yes, it's the kind of information I'd give a kidney for. How do Russians actually land their birds? We've all been trying to wrap our heads around their procedure in the Su-33 sub forum. Online videos don't show much. Sigh...

Thank you Shagrat. You're right, of course, about landing aligned with the BRC. Here I attempted to align with the angled deck for "cinematographic" purposes, with heading similar to other jets, and the extra challenge. My problem with the slight rolling while decreasing power on descent for touchdown also occurs while aligned on BRC with the tramline of the Tarawa. I haven't figured out how to compensate for it. You can see it here starting at 9:03. As I lose altitude to land, I tilt from side to side. RL Harrier landing videos seems to show a straight path downward. So I don't know if I mess up somewhere or if RL videos are misleading because of the filming angle, of if there is something weird with the DCS flight model.

I made this video to compare the CASE I landing pattern between all four DCS naval jets (Hornet, Tomcat, Harrier and Flanker.) I'm not an expert with any of them, but I like landing them right. Regarding landing the Harrier, would the maore experienced pilots among you let me know how it could be improved? The main problem I have is staying aligned with the tramline during the vertical descent above the landing spot. I give some rudder input, but the plane always rolls a little which messes up alignment and makes me touchdown by one or two meters on either side. And my OCD hates this... Many thanks!

Regarding landing the F-14, would the more experienced pilots among you let me know how it could be improved? Many thanks!

It seems there is no rain droplets on the A-10A canopy (I have no trouble with other planes I tested.) Can anyone confirm?

Sharjah still looks the same in June 2020. Is it planned to be fixed?

Haha, I know, it's not for everyone. Just trying to breathe some life into a dry, boring subject. But thanks! :) -

Thanks, and that's great to hear! :pilotfly: -

Yes, I've just tried it, it works great now. Thank you! I haven't updated to the latest version of DCS though, so yes, that may break again :( Again, thank you!

To use the OLS, do I need to activate or request anything these days? I remember it used to work automatically, but now it doesn't seem operational. I just see the two green lines, no matter how close I am to and aligned with the Tarawa.

Hi, thank you. Yes, I re-downloaded it, same problem. It hasn't worked properly since last year I think.

Missing Texture Hello! Does anyone know how to fix this? It seems the radar monitor misses a texture.
