Well, i know i'm learning but what? so i go to stores, i pick GUN, i switch master arm ON, i switch to AG mode, i get that reticule for ground attack gun, i can even fire gun in the air, i go into dive, it wont fire= ..and then it fires and then it doesnt..what? is this bugged module or what? please help me out, or do i need to lase those shells lol
  3. i don't understand what is the problem, updates? easy, turn them off automatic ones, and update only when you decide to do so..DONE. next problem? too many sensors and radars, and units etc etc.. ok, just screen shot me the F10 map moment of me blowing up without fog of war and i will recreate the "Point where i got blown up" and we go from there on.. seriously.. so, ..to me it looks like a lack of priorities than anything else.

  6. lol exactly, i feel extremely disapointed, like who enjoys playing dcs today? with nothing but blue force flying.. how do you do campaign.. f15e bombing HAS covering mig15?? lol.. we need mig23 and mig27, with this setup you can do serious cold war scenarios, bombing, interception, dogfights, disrupting logistics, airfields, etc.. but yeah, whatever, do f15e, then f15c, then f16c,d,e,f,g.. and all this nonsense about RF secrecy preventing such modules its nonsense, this planes are obsolete, and data is open to anyone, especially in the western intelligence community.. we can imagine su24 fencer and mig29A easily be modelled. i do wonder if a developer mentions its developing a module does this mean it prevents such module to be developed by other company? i think DCS should give clear timeline to produce the title or the "spot" gets lost and other companies get a go at it..otherwise it can "Steal" the spot for many years even though its a dead project. On other hand i doubt its possible for lets say razbam and deka for instance to develop mig23 at the same time simultenously. so one company taking claim its developing something but its not really should be well not allowed to be frank!
  7. Hi guys, Since this is wish part of forum my wish would be to create if not all at least some building destruction model, almost in full fidelity if u will as with planes, why is this needed? To simulate urban warfare and CAS to the best of realism. In future i imagine campaign where ground troops need to take a city and obviously enemy will be entrenched in buildings, so some element of storming such position and defending it will be a must and with simple damage model we have now it's impossible for such battles to happen. By.full fidelity i mean certain consideration would be taken of how building is made, concrete steal beams, etc, some harder to destroy some impossible, some providing excellent cover some limited for defenders.. as.there are thousands and hundreds.of thousands of building in a map i guess best bet for starter would be to create 6 or 10 such buildings in city that must be taken before city can be claimed to be taken, around such conglomerate of building battles on ground would be fought, by ful fidelity i mean soldiers can occupy all floors, imagine the dozens of stingers, iglas hiding behind corner, making CAS from flying low difficult to impossible.. So that would be my wish, it would create better immersion of the conflict as right now we have units in the.open where flir can pick them up at 20km easy..whereas in real life they hide from building to building, to woods, .. What do you guys think, would u enjoy such a feature?

    TDC Slew

    Is there a known issue why Rhino can only use mini stick axis for slewing??? it is very inaccurate and akward, and very hard to understand why other hat points don't work!?!

So, i am not sure if i wrote correctly but TDC or whatever it is called, when you have to slew the crosshair to target ,it only exists as a AXIS horizontal and Axis Vertical!! i can't put it anywhere on my Rhino X56 that would make sense, only mini stick functions and that is way to inconveniant, other 8 way hats don't work, only axis ones, sliders etc.. why? is this how control is setup from the get go in this module or what?

Well the idea is if AI can understand what you want, then you need the interface to "talk" to DCS AI logic and you get a big win, i don't see the problem, i think gpt will come to games much sooner ppl realize, all i think is its good to give a good try and see if DCS can be pioneer and not lag in this actually most important aspect of warplanes genre-AI. There are plug in for excel and word and i see it does understand and also has good interface with word or excell program so it can deliver on this, when previously you had to "know" how to chart and recognize trends in data sheet, now you just need to let the program know what you want. If such interface can be given to DCS i still believe it has big potential. DCS AI is abysmal at this point, lets be real about it, dynamic campaign biggest issue is known, where if data after a mission is shared with gpt and order is given to protect assets, protect ground units, defend where no ability to progress, advance where recon and satelite gives you an edge regarding the enemy then why not? again, its just words, understanding words, gpt proves it understands words, not philosophy but words is enough. --- move ground units FORWARD if mission to secure air zone A successful (success means mission was flown, friendly planes were victorious or not challenged), thus CAS can be deployed, victory on ground assured, MOVE ON. Seriously ppl make it more complicated than it is.

I just want to start this topic in the hopes of getting traction all the way to the developers as it will give a biiiig huuuuuuge boost to development of the game and playability. What is happening today with ChatGPT is surely a phenomena of the decade if not even biger thing than internet back in the 90's. Right now ChatGPT is starting to offer companies plug-in ability so you can use it in programs like word, excell, and why not in games too? DCS be modern, be proactive, DO IT, get it done, ability of the program to understand subtext and meaning would accelerate mission editing, development of missions, maybe even ability to create dynamic campaign!?!? All that GPT needs is data of end mission and strategic reason, lets say-we want Blue team to win, blue team victory means capturing land, advancement of units on ground, controling air zones and minimizing friendly losses and maximizing or destroying in totality enemy forces. If you want you can go into details what all this entails and basically write a BOOK, and the program GETS IT in a second. So all you need is then to talk, tell it to create a campaign, with so and so many unity for blue force, such and such storage, such and such RED LINES where if reached new storage and weapons arrive, such and such conditions for victory, then let the AI fight it out and human player plays the campaign to best of his/her ability and gets medals based on its merit. It would be even better than todays campaign which are too pilot oriented, who believes 1 pilot actually determines victory in the end? but this is what all campaigns today in games are which is silly. You can strive to make campaigns more or less 50:50 meaning victory or loss could go easily one way or another and in series of campaign missions through consistent pilot work you can maybe TILT the chances a bit and victory would be possible. But that is on a side note, more important is harnessing the plug in to the best of its ability! Great add on would be JESTER with GPT ability!?!?!? Jester search of enemy air, concentrate on incoming bogeys, or telling your AI crafts how to attack enemy ground units or enemy air units, you can literally TALK TO THEM and they will understand and do it!? PLEASE DCS, and fellow simmers, let this threat be the opening and hopefully DCS is the FIRST one to utilize this and gains the most advantage and not the last to use it as some dinosaur in the industry! To those who do not understand benefits of chatGPT is making pls, go check it out, like REALLY check it out, its not hype, its real!
  12. yup, i'm trial-ing the harrier to see if its worth a buy especially with discount today, but the roll problem is insane, no controllability if you roll 90 degrees and try to accurately stop, i doubt its joystic settings and more likely its the simulated model that is such. i am a bit dissapointed this module is the one without the radar in it, if we would have the radar version with amraams, wow.. but still fun module i see why i would enjoy it but i feel like it could be more?
  13. yup, two installs, 320 gb!?..i was just disgusted..lol, so i deleted the stable one, ..on unreleted note figured out my BS3 was not flying as i configured controls for BS Sim, not BS sim 3 shark..oh DCS, you find a way, always.. also happy new year!

HAAAA, i did it, omg, u will not believe what was the problem.. well, ..obviously..it was.. option of BS in mission editor.. as i installed open beta as Rudel mentioned DCS will set you up messed controllers, and i initially only set up my BS 3 sim, and after it didnt work and also deleted all inputs in BS Game, BS Sim, still to no avail.. i was at a loss, then i checked my mission editor and i saw i had picked BS Sim.. omg!!! OMG!.. So i picked BS 3 Sim and all is good, BUT normally, life would not be DCS if not when you repair one problem and another flops back to life, now i see graphic glitches when i move my head around. who else but DCS -pun intended with voice of Quagmire from Family Guy..

  17. yes i noticed this confusion, and deleted all axis and set them up again, ..i have no idea wtf is going on, i do wonder what trackir input does with pitch, roll, yaw..do you use your track ir to move the "cyclic"?.. will try again to reset and designate axis again..don't know what else i can try..

Greetings, i changed to open beta as i needed to cuz i bought BS3, ...so, after going to controller setup and doing everything as i had before, i notice that my BS3 now has wrong inputs, i do not know what is happening. I tried to fly in Su25 and no issues, but in BS3 i have big offset when moving my cyclic, as soon as i touch my throttle-collective my cyclic would offset to right and down, like 50 % of the move, i checked my controller setup, it all works, i have x56 combo, but still no issues in su25, f14, ..if controller would be at problem wouldn't it be problem elsewhere too? i checked x56 in its own software programme and also everything checked out good, ..it is strange i did notice for instance zoom view, i put it on slider on throttle and it doesn+t work, it registers in dcs settings, but nothing in game.. is it the wrong zoom option? still, what is going on, do i need to check if i downloaded recent patches for beta? or do i go back to stable and BS2? ..frustrating.
  19. hmm,..well i "did it", ..managed to update,change whatever to DCS open beta, but it was not as ppl here mentioned, it was as i feared... a new dcs was downloaded, open beta, so basically i ended up with dcs standard-166 gb, and open beta, aprox the same, ..so i deleted dcs standard as i don't have so much space to waste.. NOW the BIG ISSUES))) omg, wth, .. i try playing with BS3 obviously.. the controls are all over the place.. i made vide with my phone as don't have time to deal with cheap online video recording software.. and will post it soon, you will see how controls are wack, also taped how controls set up in settings. Basically, my cyclic would move all of a sudden after i move my throttle a bit strongly down and right and stay there, ..i set up again, recalibrated etc, ..same story, exited the game, entered again and this time no controls possible, in setting in dcs i see my throttle and cyclic working as intended, in game nothing, they are dead. so i tried different craft, so went with su25 and it works perfectly.. wtf.. omg, seriously guys, playing dcs for me is like 90% time in settings ..5% setting a mission and 5% flying..is it worth it? ..
  20. tnx, i think i get it now, ...will change to open beta..so SSD disk storage shouldn't be drastically changed after the conversion..?
  21. so is open beta like totally new game, so you have to have basically another dcs on top of stable.. so 2 times HD space or should i say SSD? also, will black shark 3 appear eventually in stable?
  22. lol .. i missed this totally, so my dcs is not up to date ..it needs to be in 2.8.1 ..how do i do that? and open beta, does that mean game is less optimized and more crashy, buggy?

Ok guys, update, well i'm red faced))) i guess i'm just too old to learn these games ...feel stupit, anyway, i tried to HOLD trimmer all the time as i moved and then RELEASING it after....and gunship seems to respond as it should...i mix the two modes, when you click the auto-director pilot thingy, which as i understand works opposite to mentioned above autopilot trimmer. So click AFTER you adjusted flight pattern, so its AFTER and only 1 click, while the 3 button autopilot would work by pressing and holding the trimmer as you move the chopper... geez, if this is so, why cant they just make a how to fly ka50 for dumb folk...i would read it and boom...i could fly 2 seconds before blowing up? ... anyway, loving the BS2, will buy BS3 as soon as i find more time. Thank you for suggestions, one Q though, how do you post videos here?...with link from own youtube site?..so you just download it to youtube and then paste link to forum?

Hi guys, i am 39 yrs old, far from a guy who has the time of the world to him to play my modules, but still, from tutorials and setting up my hotas i can't phantom why my black shark is acting insane. I can't fly straight, i can't autohover without crashing the copter. my x56 has no wiggle in axis zones, deadzone is such to prevent it, so what else is interfering ?? i can't agree this is normal as its insane how difficult it is just to stand still or move slightly forward and keep speed and angle set.. and don't even let me go about hitting button "Reset Trim"..the thing goes ballistic and breaks the copter in two..lol
  25. aha, i see, tnx for the info, i thought something wrong with my dcs updater.. i'm ok, will wait until its stable to get upgraded from the get go..
