There are certain aspects of the "game" that give additional perspective on what's going on around us. We can't feel momentum, g's, and deceleration. Depth perception is also hindered. I think the f10 map being there is an accepted trade off to give us all situational awareness that we lack from the fact we're playing a game on a 2 dimensional screen. Haha. Yeah you have. You and Nach are partners in crime. I've watched your paired kub deployments with envy and contempt. Sent while I should be working instead.

Sounds like a void that needs to be filled! To be honest, i think when the aircraft get shuffled again, we will see faction populations change again. I'm missing the Ka-50, terribly.

While your numbers are extremely lopsided I have seen five flankers in the air plenty of times during this testing phase. It's also worth mentioning we organized our group and got it together beforehand instead of waiting to see who showed up and then grabbing everybody. I think the message was planning beforehand is key. I will grant you that the number disparity needs to be addressed somehow. I'll leave that up to the buddyspike team. I'm sure they'll ask the community when and if they want our input. Sent while I should be working instead.

I wish I could get this mod to work. I suffer from the same issue. Sent while I should be working instead. -
Be the change you want to see! Panhead made a document and posted it. Grab some friends and come wreck our shit! Sent while I should be working instead.

Id guess ciribob's motivation took this into account. Blue flag, for many, is the consensus top competitive event in DCS. If you're looking for a social experience, maybe explore a venue that doesn't handicap the spirit of the event. I wouldn't go Onto a more casual social server and say "Zulu4, mic check 1, 2, how copy, come back, over!" Because that type of behavior isnt appropriate for the scale of the event. Blue flag is THE consensus try hard event in dcs. Don't ridicule others for treating it what it is. Sent while I should be working instead.

I think the breakdown occurs when you have 25 people in comms and 5 not in comms with this very attitude. When numbers get high enough, this demeanor effectively becomes a roadblock when it comes to accomplishing goals essential to progress in blue flag. I get what you're saying, but on the other hand, what you're saying is you'd like to cultivate a behavior from several people that impedes the spirit of the exercise itself. All the while, youre doing so under the guise of it being a casual, social thing. I have made friends in blue flag, but without blue flag, if I want to be social with those people, id choose to do it somewhere other than blue flag. Every 3 hours, it resets and provides ample time for casual socializing. There are also several times during the round where action has ceased and there's room for chit chat. The problem occurs when "chit chat" becomes "blah blah" and the "blah blah" imposes on people cooperatively competing towards achieving victory in the exercise. Infortunately, the latter scenario happens too much. Sent while I should be working instead.

As do I. About an hour ago someone rammed their mi-8 into a huey Sent while I should be working instead.

I dont get the reason for the question, to be honest. These guys are gracious enough to script and program and moderate an online server for their community. There's a reason there's a shortage of servers with the quality of blue flag. It's a lot of effort. Someone has gone above and beyond with even more and the response is "what are you gonna do about it?" I repeat, this is the testing phase, the beta, if you will. I wish they would make SOME form of comms mandatory just to see how it worked. The amount of people not in comms of any kind blows my mind. Blue flag is an exercise of collaboration, planning, timing, and teamwork. It blows my mind that people want to play it but then refuse to utilize a tool that enhances all of those aspects. Well, as ciribob said, this is testing. They could close their TS or even mute the channels they leave open to the public in it. A channel could be left open to use as support for SR. I'm not getting in a confrontation as to whether or not they SHOULD enforce use of SR as primary comms, but if you think they can't enforce it, you might be right. However, I'm guessing they can make it the path of least resistance. And isn't that what this is about? People seem unwilling to take 10 minutes to learn how to use it properly. The author of The Mod is willing to help people on an almost instant basis from what I've seen. He's always accessible or quick to respond when troubleshooting Sent while I should be working instead.

I jumped in gci with about an hour left. I didnt see many in it and everyone in the action seemed to be on ts so I chose to stick there. SR is brilliant. I wish it was the standard, but sadly, it isnt. I cant argue with any of ether's reasons because that's the way he feels. The unfortunate thing is, when you're gci'ing ts or Simple Radio, whichever one you're not using just becomes yet one more channel to monitor or talk on. Sent while I should be working instead.

Oops. Disregard.

Sure, but that's what I'm saying. I wasnt suggesting 21/23 fight f4's. I was suggesting they be paired against f5's once they are deemed viable. I've always pictured the F5 as a fair fight. Again, I could be wrong. Total agreement that f4 vs mig 21 or 23 would be unbalanced. Sent while I should be working instead.
-
What I was asking is if the mig 23 or 21 as AI interceptors would be a better match for the F5 in lieu of f4's vs 29s. It was a legit question to which the answer may very well be "no". F16's had no place in the conversation. Sent while I should be working instead.

You need to get over this concept that I want F-22 on blue blue fighting hang gliders on red Sent while I should be working instead.
-
I wasn't asking for an F-16. I was merely pointing out asymmetrical balance. Furthermore, despite what you are intent on instigating, my only point is that the F5 isn't ready to be implemented 3 hours after it's patched into the game. Sent while I should be working instead.
-
This is a proposition I could live with, at first glance, but, although I own both, im not skilled in the m2k or fish. I'm asking here. How does the Mig21 perform comparatively with the 21? Sent while I should be working instead.
-
You saying that ka50 vs huey/gazelle is balanced? Sent while I should be working instead.
-
No. Im not saying that. Are you saying that Mig29s are balanced compared to f4's? What im saying is, we might find out in 3 hours that the F5 can't load fuel...or that it can't load missiles...or any of the other shit that happens on day 1 release. Sent while I should be working instead.
-
The third option is to wait and see how viable the F5 is before making it your basis of balance. That's what I'm saying. Sent while I should be working instead.
-
Body, should we give it more than 6 hours post patch to see if the F5 is even viable or just say screw it and stick it in there? Sent while I should be working instead.

You guys had a ka50 blowing up friendlies last night. What was up with that? Sent while I should be working instead.
