check other software running that uses your microphone, i found that using OBS recording software causes VA to stop recognizing my mic as well, if your mic stops registering, logout from windows and log back in, restart VA and test, thats what i've found to re-enable it. Easiest way to test whats causing the Mic to stop being recognized is before booting VA after login, shutdown anything that uses the Mic, start VA, then start your programs you usually run with DCS that use the Mic one by one, testing the mic in each program before starting the next. When your mic stops working in VA you've found your culprit. (Disclaimer: This is the process I followed to figure out that OBS was taking priority over VA, and it may or may not work for you. Also, after some more testing, I've Found that running VA as admin seems to eliminate this issue with OBS) Now, as for the error messages, if you are running windows 10, you HAVE to run VA as administrator. and in this line: "COPY /Y "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp\DCS.openbeta\tem pMission.miz"TEMP\tempMission.zip" the space needs to be removed. it should look like this: COPY /Y "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp\DCS.openbeta\tempMission.miz" TEMP\tempMission.zip

VAICOM 2.0 for VoiceAttack
Ripcord03 replied to Hollywood_315's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
gary, im curious, did you just update your 1.2 install to 1.5 or did you install 1.5 separately? I installed mine separately, in the Eagle Dynamics folder where dcs is installed by default i have 2 folders. "DCS" and "DCS World OpenBeta" do you also have these separate folders or just "DCS"? The reason being, is its possible that for users who simply updated 1.2 to 1.5 through the updater, the folders containing the game and the appdata might not have changed, and you might not have had to do the file path edit. -
VAICOM 2.0 for VoiceAttack
Ripcord03 replied to Hollywood_315's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
alright just an FYI for everyone. If your voice attack has the lines highlighted in the image below, run voiceattack as an Administrator. Doing so should fix any problems the cmd batch file in the VAICOM tools directory is encountering with copying files from your appdata folder. This is what your voice attack window should look like if everything is working with 2.0: edit: you'll have to click on the images to read them lol, didnt realize the forums just puts them in like thumbnails... :music_whistling: edit 2: I know in windows 10 you have to run voiceattack as an administrator (if you go to the voiceattack exe and set it to run as an admin through the properties window, it will save you from having to always remember to right click it). I am not sure if you have to do this for windows 7 or not, but on my windows 7 machine I didn't, on my windows 10 machine I did lol. -
VAICOM 2.0 for VoiceAttack
Ripcord03 replied to Hollywood_315's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I can confirm this seems to be working properly for me on 1.5. (As long as running VoiceAttack as an Admin in windows 10) Also, For everyone wondering you should have VAICOM 1.5.8 installed, previous versions wont work, and there is no beta available currently. I'm also curious as to whether anyone has gotten a boot to the F2 view using this, it was just reported to me yesterday, and i am still currently trying to reproduce it before calling it a bug. -

I'll do my best to get it done, and released by the weekend. In the mean time, send me a PM with your joystick/throttle info (is it a T.M. Warthog, or an X52, X55, etc.) and also, have you set up auto hotkey or not. and ill shoot you back a reply with how your controls should look with VAICOM. -

I've never used vac, so i cant speak to that, but using VAICOM with voiceattack works perfect for me, very few problems with it. -
VAICOM 2.0 for VoiceAttack
Ripcord03 replied to Hollywood_315's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Some important and useful things now that hollywood has released 2.0, different things that should help everyone get VAICOM setup fairly smoothly. Autohotkey: http://autohotkey.com Autohotkey Joystick Test Script (Finds your AHK driver numbers): Download Here Single Post write up on setting up Autohotkey with vaicom: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2512931&postcount=38 Video Walkthrough on setting up VoiceAttack, Autohotkey and VAICOM for the first time: Embedded Video in spoiler: Yes, the video is a little lengthy, this is the first time i've done a walkthrough/tutorial video, and i did it all improvised, no script lol, I tend to leave these styles of videos to people like Bunyap. Anyways, hope this will help some of you guys with questions. If not feel free to PM me if you need some more help setting up VAICOM. Also, I plan on making another video with an In-game walkthrough of how your keybinds should be, as well as a quick walkthrough on some of the ATC, JTAC, and AWACS calls. -
+1 from me as well, even though I fully support hollywood and VAICOM, like hollywood said, its a workaround, and extremely complex, as well as requiring multiple steps just to get 1 radio task accomplished, but its still better than removing my hands from the stick while flying to try and get awacs, tanker, jtac, or atc commands.

I've been seeing a lot of questions on how to get older cockpit mods like Ricardo's Horse of War, or Skulleader's P-51D Cockpit, or even the Modified F-86 ADI working in DCS 1.5 so I've decided to post a How To for everyone. Its actually really simple, the Devs removed 2 folders from the file path for cockpit textures. so you have a ZIP file with the textures in it for example the A-10C: zip file is named: A_10C_C_EDM_TEX.zip and in 1.2 the folder structure to get to it was "...\Mods\aircraft\A-10C\Cockpit\Resources\Model\Textures" (the ... being the path to your DCS Install) now in 1.5 they removed the Folders "Resources" and "Model" so now your 1.5 path for cockpit textures looks like this: "...\Mods\aircraft\A-10C\Cockpit\Textures" to replace the cockpit texture you just place the zip file in the new file path, or if you are using JSGME simply change the folder structure inside the texture mods folder. so for Ricardo's horse of war using JSGME instead of: "...\_Mods\Horse Of War\Mods\aircraft\A-10C\Cockpit\Resources\Model\Textures" its: "...\_Mods\Horse Of War\Mods\aircraft\A-10C\Cockpit\Textures" Its the same for all planes, the F-15 and other flaming cliffs planes are all under: "...\Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\Cockpit\Textures" Screenshots for assistance ;)

[W.I.P] F-15C HD Cockpit Mod
Ripcord03 replied to csper's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
The above works for all cockpit textures, just replace A-10C with the proper folder name for your aircraft. for the F-15C its: ...\Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\Cockpit\Textures See my post here:http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2508217&postcount=13 or here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2522003&postcount=15 -
Just figured I'd post some screenshots of my first P51D Skin, and first time doing SPEC layers for a skin too. If people are interested, when im done with it i will upload it for download. Short Background: P51D PZ-W 44-13737 "Little Rebel" was flown by Lt. Charles C. "Buck" Pattillo, of the 486th Fighter Squadron, 352nd Fighter Group. It was his only P51 of the war. P51 44-13737 was originally assigned to Captain Alton "AJ" Wallace in 1944 who named all of his aircraft "Little Rebel", but upon the end of Wallace's 2nd Tour in November 1944, the Aircraft was transeferred Lt Charles Pattillo, who chose to retain the Aircraft's name. (More Information on Buck Pattillo can be found here: http://www.crazyhorseap.be/Mustangs/Aces/Buck%20Pattillo/BuckPattillo1.htm) Reference Images: Ingame Screenshots (DCS 1.5): As I mentioned in the Thread title, its still a work in-progress as I haven't added the 5 Kill Marks, the well known Blue Nose needs some touchups on the edges, and the numbers on the tail still need to be properly aligned (right side tail is way uneven.) I also want to mess with the SPEC layers a little more and try and tweak the coloring to be more accurate. Thanks to Whiplash for his bare metal template (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=128983)

VAICOM for VoiceAttack
Ripcord03 replied to Hollywood_315's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
The list will not stay on the screen, but once you say "ATC List", the list should pop up and stay up until you press the button again, and you should be able to figure out which tower you want, then say "ATC Select One" and it should select the first one on the list. Granted, I dont usually use vaicom with the F-15C because i rarely fly it. -
Well, it just takes a lot of practice and time to learn everything. And when it comes to missile launches, I recommend learning the RWR's threat symbology, so you can at least partially understand what is launching. but like its been said, IR missiles rarely give you a warning, if you are lucky enough to get one, you need to react almost immediately. RWR Symbology Wiki: http://wiki.hoggit.us/view/RWR#Threat_Symbology Heres a Link to the PDF I used to learn: http://icerock-motorsport.com/_ftp/_sla/a10//25th%20VFS%20Air%20Defenses%20Guide%20V2.0.pdf Also, youtube searches can usually render some help, although i've noticed, especially in multiplayer, that the confusion never really goes away, and is generally just as hard, if not harder to sort out.

horse of war is slightly higher res, plus i like the look it gives the A-10C, the default textures especially in 1.5 even at 1024 every frame just seem blurry and low res.
-
One reason may be the DoF setting, the other is that the Cockpit Texture is old, and may not be properly optimized for 1.5, personally, i dont use the default cockpit texture, and i fixed Ricardo's Horse of War so that it would work in 1.5 as soon as 1.5 came out because i can't stand the default cockpit.

Use the autohotkey script provided in the download. Download Autohotkey here: http://www.autohotkey.com/ Also, with me having so many input devices, if you want you can use this AHK script to figure out what input number your throttle is: Also, in the script below i'll show you what to change to make the VAICOM AHK script work 1Joy3:: Send {Numpad0 down} KeyWait 1Joy3 Send {Numpad0 up} return Where it says 1joy3 simply change it to what ever your stick registers as for an input in the first script i posted. so if in the first script it said Microsoft PC-Joystick driver (#2) (in the pic below mine says one because i already know the order my driver loaded in, but your results may vary) Also, to make sure you have the throttle just press buttons on it till the tooltip line that says 'buttons down' starts changing. you change it to 2Joy3:: Send {Numpad0 down} KeyWait 2Joy3 Send {Numpad0 up} return Do the same for each line in the script (Joy3,4,5,6) Also, you still need both your Mic Switch on your HOTAS and the num0-num3 keys not bound to anything Hope that kinda explained it? If you need more help, feel free to message me. -
Also add me for the next round (1.5 i hope ;) ) Squadron Name: Fighting 99th Pilots Callsign: F99th-Davison #33 Side: Blue Airframe Preference: A-10C
