A takeoff around the pattern to a full stop landing. I've changed my take off procedure. It is much like the 109, back on the stick with right aileron at initial run up as wind gets over the controls I ease off the aileron and back pressure. I'm quicker on the throttle up to get air on the rudder but not fast enough to torque roll the plane. I'm using more power on the take off. At first I was at boot 6 now I'm up to Boost 8 Youtube vid.

I'm using a Warthog setup. I've used the "Axis Tune" to set all my controls the same way. For me this setup allows me fine control for gentle corrections but also gives me full control deflection when I need it with reasonable response time. It helps me to not over control and develop PIO (pilot induced oscillation).

Taxi I've noticed if you keep the taxi speed down, if you need to make slight adjustments to keep in a straight line you can goose the throttle to put some additional prop wash against the rudder to make the corrections. Just be careful to not do it too often or goose too much throttle or you will increase taxi speed which can be a bad thing. After a couple hours setting up my switch panels and flight controls and writing up a checklist and memorizing the cockpit layout, I did a whole day of startup taxi and shutdown. I got pretty comfortable with the ground handling.. Take off tip... Put a boat load of nose down trim before the takeoff run.. There is a little dot on the elevator trim wheel I put in nose down trim until the dot is at the 4 o'clock postion on the trim wheel, I put in right rudder trim which turns the rudder trim tab 45 degress to the right. I advance the throttle slowly to 6 boost and keep the stick centered. I'm dancing slightly on the rudder but not too much and use no back pressure. The plane flies off nicely. Sometimes a little right aileron to counter torque helps on the first few seconds of roll ,,,but not all the time. . Once you have good airflow all the controls respond nicely for takeoff control. Landing is pretty straight forward. I'm at 150 in the pattern, 130 turning from downwind to base and 110 on final.. Throttle back and hit the threshold at 100,, back pressure on the stick and touch down at 90-95,, if I land a liitle hard and bounce I power up and go around,, when I do manage to slide it in as kiss the runway gently there is almost no tendency for the airplane to ground loop. After I'm down its full back on the stick to keep the tail planted (the airflow gives me down force on the tail to help with keeping the plane straight) and as the aircraft slows down (without braking) I need to use more brake/rudder but since the speed is down it is not as dramatic. So far 25 take-off and landings without bending the plane. I tried to make videos but since replays still don't work correctly..... I can't (are we going to fix that?)

All of my Throttle Axis commands assigning my Warthog controls for the P-51 sim are no longer working,, nor can I go into axis commands to set them up again.. Attached are two screenshots. Number one is the axis assign screen for my 109 . As you can see they are all there and working properly. Screenshot two is the axis assign command for my P-51 sim. All of the commands that I could normally assign are not longer there. It is as if the throttle is no longer attached, (but works in the 109) I tried dumping the user input files in order to start from scratch but still have the same problem. Also has anyone figured out a way to get the toggle switches to work as toggle switches? Do I edit lau files, Diff files or the default lau? There was a good post in this in forums that provided a new Data.lau file you could drop into the scripts folder and instructions (with pictures) on what you had to edit and how to edit.. Since this patch that system no longer works.. if I replace the data.lau file now the game will not jump into the cockpit after you select an aircraft.

I have been moving to my new home and in the interim there was a new update to 1.5 (whatever the number).. The update came through flawlessly. But it came with an issue,, no replay will play accurately. no old or new trak will play accurately. To test, I did a mission of a simple start up, warm up, taxi to take off, I took off, around the pattern,, and landing in a BF 109. After the flight I did a straight play of the trak,, no altering cameras or time advance or slow.. Played the video three times. All three times it never played what accurately happened.. All three times there were different versions of some taxi through the grass with an attempt to take off resulting in a crash. One put me in a hill and the other two has me heading towards the beach,, one I hit the beach the other I managed to make the water (inverted) and crashed. This may be in the threads some where but if you search for "Replay not working" or "Replay broken" you get posts from a while ago.. Anyway,, love the sim. This is probably answered in the forums but after two hours of trying to find a recent post with relevant info I decided to post again. Best Regards, CCrashh

Ok, good to know,, but then the question still is,, why is DCS always asking me to re-activate already purchased aircraft?
-
Every now and again the game asks me to activate my Thrustmaster Joystick like it is an aircraft. If I try to close the window the game will then go through all of my aircraft asking for my numbers for activation of aircraft already registered and running. Screenshot attached.

status of 109 leaving BETA status.
4H_Ccrashh replied to 4H_Ccrashh's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Duh accepted. It was my assumption that messed me up. I'm new to DCS and I am very glad to now have it. I am used to the old IL2 game.. Each aircraft had a skin folder. You put skins in it and you could access them no matter what nationality you assigned to the aircraft. Different simulation different setup. Lesson learned, and thanks for your post. Now if we can get wing cannons.. WOOT WOOT!! -
status of 109 leaving BETA status.

The only real problem I have with the 109 is the lack of any skin other than captured or plain green when using the plane online. I am making co-op missions for my brother and I to practice on and I'd really like to have some accurate markings on the AI aircraft. -
How long has the 109 K4 been a BETA? It seems it has been for a while. What is the status of finishing this aircraft? And it looks as if the P-47 and the other World War Two projects are fading to obscurity. VEAMO was working on a P-40 but if you check their forums,, activity is all but dead with no news. I hope this isn't a trend and I hope I'm wrong.

Invalis serial number rears its ugly head again.

FIXED.. It was a matter of the module serial number in his registry. It was missing in a spot. Just edited the registry , cut and paste and VIOLA!!! It works. -
[NO BUG] Cannot fire guns/Cannon after runway start
4H_Ccrashh replied to fjacobsen's topic in Bugs and Problems
Something not mentioned here. The 109 will not fire the MG's when the engine is off or idling. It has something to do with the interrupter gear. -
Oh,, ok Thanks for the 411. Torrent seems to work,, and has the new files,, It might be time to jump into the petri dish of the virus world and try torrent.. Man,,, I'd hate to risk a virus.. Unless I give Torrent 20 bucks... what's up with that? Maybe if I dump a bottle of hand sanitizer on my computer and wipe down the keyboard and mouse with holy water I will be ok.

I've been trying to download DCS World and none of the links are working. It is 1849 East Coast time. HTTP error 403 Tried from another computer , same issue.

Invalis serial number rears its ugly head again.

This is happening to my older brother. I saw this post: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=136153&highlight=invalid+serial+number And another about flaming cliffs. Neither seem to address our problem. so here it is.. I got DCS and my brother liked it as well so he downloaded the DCS files and purchased the P-51D module. He never got a confirmation email but when he checked his profile the completed transaction is there and the email is correct. His P-51 installed and when he logs into his module manager in DCS the serial number is there.. So that much is all good.. When he starts up DCS Multiplayer he gets "Invalid Serial Number" If your wondering why he is not posting this,, he is 50+ and a disabled vet. He would have problems following this. Other notes.. He only has one aircraft installed.. The P-51 The SU-25 came with the game. Any help would be greatly appreciated -
Next time you try to start up and fail save the replay and sent it to me via PM or email and I'll load it on my end. A second set of eyes might see something you didn't.

DCSFlightpanels (DCSFP) thread. Saitek Pro Flight Panels & DCS
4H_Ccrashh replied to a topic in DCS Modding
Switch Panel Overlay I followed this thread and got it working perfectly. I really Like it. The only problem was the Cessna labels. It was driving me nuts in my P-51 so I made one. Feel free to use it. Make sure you print on card stock (heavy paper) and size the image to be 11 inches by 3.5 inches. If you have an inkjet printer with glossy photo paper it looks REAL NICE, but laser works too. Carefully cut out the knobs and switches with an sharp hobby knife and it will fit nicely on your switch panel. I put bits of velcro on mine so I can peel it off and change it with overlays that I'm making for the 190 and 109.
