  1. thanks madone
  2. those are the modes i seem to miss the most in
  3. yes, the CR modes are 3/9 and 5mil right? but while googling the CR modes, i found this thread regarding the topic. has lots of good info. probably everything i'm looking for. edit: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1260173
  4. i've been working heavily lately. so at night i've been able to throw in only a training flight or 2. i've noticed i suck at bombs in CCIP mode. great with guns and rockets though. so a few questions 1. with bombs in CCIP, what mode do you guys find more useful? dive bomb? 3/9? or 5 mil? i find that using 3/9 or 5 mil mode is difficult due to the fact its hard to "sight in" the target. i miss a lot. but dont really find dive bombing that useful. if i'm going to dive into a target i might as well use the gun. 2. in regard to CCIP or CCRP mode, which is more used from you experienced players dropping bombs? i understand that CCRP is much more precise, but there must be a use for CCIP "unguided" drops forgive my terminology, still learning here and i'm tired, brain isnt functioning properly. so feel free to correct me. landings are much better by the way, no struggling with the ILS system or comms anymore. even with high fog condtions. thanks guys
  5. ya i was talking about the runway heading, still cool to find out about the "steer" option though. thank you sir
  6. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=60370 cool maps of all the airports. has runway headings, ILS, comms, elevations, TACAN. cool stuff
  7. cut your graphics back some and then see what your temps do. that might help explain what is going on.
  8. i'm no expert at all, but i read through your thread just out of curiosity, one thing i've noticed is that you are comparing apples to oranges. my thinking is that A-10C is just pushing your system harder than anything else you are playing.
  9. yep, fixed it for me too. thanks again
  10. and thanks again guys for the info
  11. roger that on the TACAN. i'll learn it someday.
  12. hey sven, so i know the CDU doesnt show the heading after you select an airport, but someone mentioned divert then a waypoints page. did you see that at all?
  13. i had this same thought myself. just didnt do it because i was too busy trying not to crash a landing plane
  14. ya i'll have to look at it too. later though. see, we are all learning stuff. thanks guys for all the input and info.
  15. i'm going to have to make up a little note book of all the info i'm accumulating. i have papers all over my desk with notes scribbled all over them ya, i'm wanting to be able to find the information in the cockpit. so i wont have to shuffle through pages of paper
  16. i'll have to look at that waypoints page like you mentioned and see if i can find those heading numbers
  17. 110.30 is batumi's ILS frequency. i had it all set up right. it was the stow switch. you got that 126 number from experience? or is there a location in the cockpit that gives you that?
  18. ahhhh, i now know what you mean about stowed and the needles.
  19. yep that must be it, it was set to stow. thanks headspace
  20. not sure. didnt check that. its possible the mission could start default with the switch in stow mode i'll fly it right now and see
  21. for some reason i cant get ILS to display on the ADI. i've been flying the guns and rockets training mission and then landing afterwards at batumi. i turn the weapon systems off. switch to nav mode on the hud. then i select divert on the CDU, select the aiport, set radio and ILS channels, turn ILS on, call inbound, set HSI, then i hit the ILS switch on the NMSP. i see the red mark showing i'm not recieving a signal, but as i get closer to the airport to come in for the landing.....nothing, no red marks, no ILS bars. nothing. what am i missing? i've flown the landing training mission again to see if i'm missing something and i'm not. a bug maybe?
  22. i'm flying with a logitech extreme 3d pro right now. i think it sucks. but, OP, i'd gladly box mine up and ship it to you if you really want it.
  23. i have an i7 quadcore toshiba laptop with a nvidia 330m. i run about 30 FPS with graphics set to medium. i started a thread recently in the hardware forums and someone helped me figure out that a RAM upgrade would indeed help my case, since my video card does utilize the system ram. the biggest issue with laptops is the video card. it will most likely be the weak link in the system.
  24. i've been struggling with the training missions as well. i'll try that manual install. thanks
