alright so i'm finally getting good at this game. i've beaten all but a few of the single missions. now its time for the campaign. first mission......big battle mission......lots and lots going on and lots and lots of talking on the radios, its hard to contact the JTAC. almost impossible. how should i go about these "big battle" missions? just "free for all" it? its chaos otherwise with all the radio chatter. shut off the AM radio? am i doing something obviously wrong?

i have never used the keyboard to input trim commands. maybe you are holding the button down too long? you should think about getting a joystick......if you already have one you should map a hat switch to trim. might help.

wow, this is after dropping weapons right? the loss of weight after dropping/ launching something is causing the plane to roll. just trim it a little in the opposite direction of the roll and you should be set

how about a slight discount if you buy the "whole package"?

hey how do you guys spot infantry? i know they are easy to find when they are shooting, but other than that i have to use labels to find them. any pointers?

the update didnt install right.....i reinstalled and everything is fine now.

also, missions arent loading. wtf DCS?

my shortcuts on my desktop says the original file location was moved after updating. after going into program files and finding the DCS.exe and multiplayer.exe......they do nothing. my computer asks me if i want to delete the icons. only thing that opens DCS is the launcher.exe that supposed to happen?

whats weird is when i use CBU-97, the bomblets land no where near the targets but the targets still explode.

ok i got another one. i got a "W" on the RWR during a mission. what is that? cant find a symbology definition

what do you guys set the CMS system to? auto, semi, manual? just wondering about the pros and cons of each type. do you guys use the jammer and does it work? i recall seeing something about fighter planes being able to locate and lock targets easier if the jammer is on, that true?

i apologize to ask this since it seems lazy. anyway you can update this post with links to all these missions and campaings you've created? dont have much time to sift through 61 pages to find where to download this.

if you look there are two dots in the gun reticle. the center most dot is where the armor piercing rounds will land, and the lower one is where the HE rounds will land. i like to wait till both dots are really close before firing. but both video examples provided will be tried by me at some point. thanks for the vids

congrats on the use of mavs. learning the weapon system is quite easy actually. just throw yourself in the fire and you'll learn it. that's what i am going to do with learning the CDU. didnt take me long at all to figure out the weapon systems. set your SPI with the TGP then hit "slave all sensors" while the mav is pulled up on the MFCD, it'll slew right to the target you selected with the TGP. remember that the mav is not locked on at this point. you'll have to slew the mav around until it locks, then release. just wait until you learn JDAM and laser guided bombs with CCRP mode.....really cool. then......when you start using JTAC and getting designation on your TAD.......it gets even cooler.

nevermind. i figured it out. compared my old view file to the new overwritten one from the update. "usedefaultview = true" needs to be "false"

updated.....i know about the restore file that is automatically saved. through that, i fixed a bunch of my snap views. only problem is.....RAlt+NP0 isnt saving a new default view or snap views. snap view saving is set to false. am i missing something?

i figured it out. i had to set the tanker to tanker "mode" in the advanced waypoint settings under "start enroute task". thats all i was missing. i had the TACAN and comms right. almost had it on my first try, but i went a little too fast and crashed into the boom. instant death. first kill on my pilot.

tried to make a mission with some of my weaknesses. refueling is one of them. i cant for the life of me contact the tanker. a few questions..... 1. when you set the radio channel for a new flight, i'm assuming its VHF AM correct? 2. i have the advance waypoint setup so the tanker will change to the correct comms and turn on it's TACAN. is this the correct way to do this? 3. will comms work if i have the tanker's channel set to the same channel as an airport? did that by accident. thanks guys

usually i'll play the game then when it's bed time, ill just grab the laptop and go read. i refer to it a lot though as i'm playing. i tested it out last night......3 pages and i was ready to pass out.....put the laptop away and i was wide awake......start reading again......woke up 3 hours later with my laptop still on. this manual puts me to sleep.
