  1. yes sir. accidentally discovered them last night. been working all day and will play around with it some tonight maybe. this facetrackNoiR kind of sucks. i think its my lighting though. maybe i should look into trackIR5
  2. ya after my landing i stopped the aircraft and looked around the cockpit to figure out what went wrong. first thing i checked was the ILS switch and i turned it off.
  3. hey i saw someone sent you a video when i was accepting your friend request. it was the low fly valley sam kill video. awesome vid. anyway i just did some low valley flying and flew a valley into batumi for a landing. it went pretty good. i set up the ILS and ended up just doing a visual landing which went great. i couldnt follow the ILS because i accidentally turned the ILS switch to off. almost had it right. you have a PM coming your way
  4. to each their own
  5. i played the old lomac and original flaming cliffs years ago (played it for a couple of years) so i think my learning curve will be a little bit higher. thanks for the encouragement though and good luck. cool to see people so excited about their accomplishments.
  6. cool man. that wasnt a bad read either. like reading a bed time story
  7. but thats the thing, when i check in i get a completely different bearing from the ATC. then out of no where the guy tells you to set this random number to the HSI. i guess you could just look at the map and estimate what degree you'd be coming in at, if you really want to set the HSI. its not important, just curious where these numbers are coming from
  8. ya i feel you. i finally finished the landing mission without screwing up.
  9. its coming along. i'm figuring this stuff out slowly but surely. getting better at operating the cockpit and started learning the weapons systems today. but i do have one question. in the landing training mission, the guy tells you to set the HSI to 130*. where did that number come from? lets say you want to set the HSI up for a landing at a different airport, how would you aquire that information?
  10. reinstall fixed the simple comms issue you had? is it working now?
  11. the difficult part is being able to see these panels to learn them.
  12. not a bad idea. i thought about that before. i may wait until i get my x-52 setup then go from there. the a-10c has a much higher learning curve than the original a-10 from the original flaming cliffs. much more confusing and a PIA with regards to the HOTAS setup.
  13. i'm working on it. the training missions seem to have bugs so i dont get the full effect from them. i'll get there. i just want to move on and learn more of the basics of this aircraft. and the other problem is that i need to setup views to look at the proper panels on the plane too. since i will need them apparently. cant view them properly with the facetrack software i have now. slow learning curve. thanks for the input guys.
  14. what i am wondering is if i need to set up the ILS landing in this game like they show in the training.....do i need to do this or are most missions setup to do this automatically?
  15. hey again guys. listen, i've been flying training missions just trying to get the basics of the avionics, nav, and comm systems (havent even begun on the weapons systems). i already plan on using simple comms, maybe down the road i will change that. but for now i just want to bypass anything regarding the more complicated comm and navigation systems, and just jump into combat. will i beable to do that to fly multiplayer and the campaign missions? is it a necessity to learn these more complicated features? or do i need to setup the ILS to land during campaign missions?
  16. simple comms isnt working for me either. not sure why, it works on the joystick when i map it. i do have the option selected as well. would love to find out why if anyone has any suggestions.
  17. hey blooze, sorry i was playing the game, i sent you a PM. but for anyone else that is looking for this info, it's at this thread. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=95797 to open the .lua file, use notepad.
  18. i have the easy comms selected in options. when i play instant action the / key doesnt work. when i map it to my joy stick, it works. any fixes for this?
  19. neutral zone cures that. on facetrackrnoir i have mine set to about 9. initially, with this program, there is still a tiny bit of input in the neutral zone. i noticed it last night and made the input even smaller in the sliders adjustments. that got rid of all the "shaking" i had going on initially. its nice to have just the littlest amount of input in the neutral zone, other wise the tracking isnt smooth. your line of sight will "snap out" of that neutral zone if you have it set to dead zero input.
  20. it takes a little to get it dialed in correctly but ya, you can fine tune how much or how little you turn your head (input) then you can fine tune how much movement you get on the screen (output). so say you turn your head 30*, with that 30* turn you could be looking 180* behind you. just kidding, you have to set up a bunch of mirrors in your room so you can still see the screen.
  21. is it really almost 2 am? nuts. been fine tuning controls and running training missions. my flight is already much smoother. i got the facetracknoir dialed in too. runs really well now. i also found a mod to increase the hud font size. which is a huge help. learned how to adjust the intensity of the hud, and change it from green to amber. i'm on a roll. i can even shoot up some cargo trucks in the quick play easy missions. i'm not sure why i ever stopped playing flaming cliffs
  22. just wanted to say thanks. thats a huge help. and for anyone that is curious, font size 50 works well
  23. thank you guys. its much appreciated. i'm sure i will have more questions to come. as for now, if you want to leave any tips or advice, that would be great. like i said, first time playing and have lots to learn.
  24. is that a game option or real life? my aim is to play this as realistic as possible.
