I don't even get that far (locking). I fly out to my A2A weapons training area, fly the same altitude as the targets and have the enemies right in front of me. The targets i've been using are "dumb" and fly straight with 0 threat reaction. I turn the Radar to EM and the targets will appear for around 5 seconds then one by one just disappear over a further 2 seconds and won't return no matter which settings i try. I wish i could decide if it's a bug or my incompetence lol, but apart from some limited combat time in the Mig-21 I'm too new to A2A to be able to tell (i prefer ground pounders). Although i can find and keep the same group on radar with 0 issues in the Mig. All the M2k radar videos i've watched make it look much easier.

I just bought this module yesterday. I loaded into DCS 1.5.x (the latest, whatever number that is) and joined a MP training server, then i remembered i had to bind keys first . Went back to the menu and went to options > controls. For around 15 minutes i kept trying to bind/unbind different key binds, it wouldn't allow any changes at all to be made to the controls without DCS crashing after pressing ok to save. Eventually i just deleted the following folder, as Teeter suggested, "C:\Users\UserName\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\M-2000C". After reopening DCS and going to the options > controls menu it started working fine and allowed me change anything i wanted.

You can also double click the middle mouse button and it will do the same thing as pressing L alt + c, i found that made things slightly easier/faster. I know it wasn't your question but there are also a few cheaper alternatives to TrackIR that might interest you. This project sounds promising (and it's what I'm waiting for) but we haven't seen anything more then a render and the idea yet, hopefully we will hear more within the next month or 2, apparently it will be much much cheaper then TrackIR. There is also the Delan Clip .

Hoover Dam Slingloaders - Uh1 - DCS 2.01
Meiz replied to RotorWrecker's topic in User Created Missions General
Great little mission, more challenging then it sounds as well with the power lines being so close and intimidating. I feel more confident with the Huey after flying this for a couple of times. -
+1, that would be a great addition to the encyclopedia.

This post explains it pretty well. Edit: sniped.

It has been a few months since my last purchase but it should be very similar to the following steps. 1. Log in to the DCS website. 2. Purchase the module you want. 3. Open DCS and sign in with the same account that you used to purchase the module. 4. In the main menu open the module manager (top left corner of the main menu, its icon is 3 rows of 3 squares). In the top right hand corner of the manager it should show you your username if you're successfully logged in. 5. Find Nevada in the module manager, i think it's under available DLC > Terrains tab, if you own it then it will have an install button, press that. 6. DCS will close and open the down-loader. 7. Wait patiently, Nevada is 25 gb . 8. Once it's done installing it should automatically open DCS again and will ask you to enter the CD/Registration key for Nevada.

If you file a support ticket on the DCS website they'll attach a reg removal file, i needed to do the same with Nevada and they replied within 3 hours. Or if you copy paste the text below (spoiler text) into a new notepad file and save it as nevada.reg it will be like the files you download from the wiki page. Important to be in notepad and it needs the .reg at the end of the name. That's the text copied out of the file they sent me, not something i put together.

The chat system is a nuisance.
Meiz replied to NightMan's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
You are able to hide the chat and its icon completely. Multiplayer chat icon (envelope) can be hidden/unhidden by LCTRL-LSHIFT-Y combo. I agree that the chat is definitely harder to read now though. -
Yes you can get 1.5 on Steam but you can't get 2.0 or Nevada at this point. To change your Steam version of DCS to beta (1.5) right click on it in your steam library, select properties, click the beta tab, click the drop down box and change it from none to open beta.

Anyone had any luck getting the Steam version to update? Steam is picking up that there is a new version but it's just hanging at starting download and listing 0 out of 0 bytes as size. Edit: Never mind re read the last few pages and found an answer from Coff that i somehow missed.

Mig 21 english cockpit choice not visible
Meiz replied to xXNightEagleXx's topic in General Problems
For the latest version of DCS there is an option under the gameplay tab called avionics language, it lets you choose between native and English. Setting that from the default native to english fixed the Mig-21 textures for me, not sure how it would conflict with the settings for other aircraft under their special options though. -
It was what the support guys at the DCS website told me to do after a new cpu + motherboard, hopefully it works for you as well. At first i was getting the pop up boxes asking to activate the products every time i started DCS and i was unable to use them. After cleaning the registry with those files the activation actually worked for me the next time i started DCS. But from memory i had to re enter the cd keys, so just make sure you know the CD keys first!

I had a similar situation a few months ago. I don't think the protect.exe will work properly if you do it after a hardware change, but the A10c's for example is located at: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\A-10C\bin 2 of my modules wouldn't reactivate after i put in my new CPU so what i was told to do is to go to here. These files basically delete the entries in the registry. I couldn't save them properly so what i did was click into each one i needed and copied out the text, the a10c for example is: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eagle Dynamics\Warthog\Keys] I then pasted the text into a new notepad file ( important to use notepad, i don't think other programs like word will work) and saved it as A-10.reg (important to include .reg after the name otherwise it saves as a text file that you can't run) . After saving it as a .reg file you can just double click on it and it will delete the registry entry for you (Would be best to make sure you have a list of your cd keys before doing this). I would advise testing it out on 1 of your least played modules first then do the rest if it works for you. Try at your own risk though, the best thing you could do is start a support ticket at the main DCS website.

Hi Zarma, I'm not sure if the patch that was released in the last 24 hours has fixed this problem yet, so try that first but if it's still not fixed there is a simple workaround you can try using though. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=148124. About halfway down that thread there is a post by Zebra288 that helped me to get it working again.

Are you clicking on the folder icon that is labeled open? If so, that's what i did at first and it didn't show missions, i think you can save a "playlist" of missions and open it with that. To add a mission use the little circle with the plus sign in it.

[REPORTED] Cannot host old missions - not showing on server list
Meiz replied to xcom's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
Hey there Baltic, i've only had a quick look so far, mainly to see if people were able to see my server after reading this thread and panicking :p. I flew out to WP 3 (everything before there works fine) to see if the SEAD flight and mission briefing messages would still fight for screen space, they don't now, they stack which is great, but i shut it down after that. I'll be jumping on DCS again in a couple of hours and will probably be loading CD up so i'll let you know in the mission thread if i run into any issues. Awesome mission by the way, me and a buddy have been playing it over the last week and have had a tonne of fun with it and didn't run into any issues on previous version of DCS, so thanks for that! -
[REPORTED] Cannot host old missions - not showing on server list
Meiz replied to xcom's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
How old is old? I see and was able to join a server running On Station classic and i briefly started one running Operation Crimson Dawn and got a couple of people joining after a few minutes. -
This thread has the Hotfix for the Mig-21, Got it working for me. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=147774 Haven't tried dropping a nuclear bomb yet so can't comment on that, although weren't new explosions etc being added later?
