Saving a pref snap shot for mapping possible? Thanks Fakum, appreciate the reply amigo. Hey but I found a really cool function view to use but I still need a small helping hand in completing what I want to do. Ok, first for some reason I lost my snap view down onto my CDU, it's now only showing the top half of my CDU screen which is not much chop, it wasn't very good anyway as it was a zoomed out view from the beginning anyway, I think I may have fooled around with the keys too much, I don't know, whatever but I discovered this awesome view by pressing Right Ctrl + Shift which then kinda floats and zooms your view around and over things in whatever way you like to a certain pint of course. Well after that I found the perfect screen shot or view of my CDU, it takes up nearly all of my 55" screen which is beautiful and includes all of the CDU screen and it's LSKs and also the Rotary dials/switches below BUT my question is.. can I save that view or image if you like to a mapped key function I choose ie: like one of the switches on my throttle that's not being used or a keyboard command I make up? I'm hoping that's possible
-
Thanks Rudel_chw, I'll try that. Mine seems to need the Num pressed whilst in the view. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, I'll check again. And thank you Fakum, yes I would map that command to HOTAS, I've got a couple of spare switches on my throttle that aren't being used. All I'm basically wanting is a good.. both hands free down view of my CDU, Cheers.

Yea I know, it sounds fantastic but I think I'm too old for that caper man. I wouldn't be able to keep up. Hey it's all good, I enjoy my single player campaign missions. I have a friend who's always bustin my chops to go on line in that Tom Clancys Wildlands but I tell him I'm having too much fun in DCS in my Hawg, this is where it's at for me and I'm still very much enjoying the learning curve, that's part of the fun :-)

Hey good Pilots, Just wondering if anyone knows how to keep the snap view on CDU without having to keep my finger on the number 3 key? I hold the Win key then the 3 on the number pad which gives me the CDU but I can let go of the Win key and still view it but not the num pad 3, hope that makes sense.

...and I learnt a valuable lesson, when your ahead and all done.. get outta Dodge! Lol I got cocky and tried to go after the SAM site to the West and got vaporised haha got too greedy. I got my number on this mission for tomorrow tho :-)
-
Man this is #%£€!' awesome! I've just taken out the SAMs by using JTAC coordinates, never done that before. I now definitely have no life and I love it. :-)
-
WP creation from coordinates is important Yea all cool but now I'm paused while I dive into a crash course to re visit Bunyaps On The Range WP creation from coordinates haha. Man I've so got to learn this stuff so I can do it on the fly. It'll take a few goes I reckon but once I get it, it'll be sweet, cheers BD  P.S what are VOs?

WOW! I just discovered something!! But firstly thank you BD for being patient with me and for those tips but guess what. I was looking at my Game Play Options menu and I noticed I had 'Easy Communication' ticked (ok call me lazy) but check it out.. when I UNTICKED it... JTAC became available in my Radio Menu! Whereas before it wasn't there, that's what I've been so freaked out about! When I got to WP 2 I had no option available to contact JTAC. So I was just flying around waiting and nothing was happening. I just noticed it now as I was doing my Ramp Start at the beginning of the mission and also there's heaps of options in my Radio Menu that are available and it looks different, although I do have Radio Assist box ticked. This is one of the many reasons why I love DCS and the A-10C cause you never stop learning and every day something new and cool pops up. Thanks again BD, now to search and destroy! :-)

Thanks BD, appreciate that mate but when you say "already had eyes on target" do you mean the AAAs or the Road Block cause I'm now confused which I should take out first. I was initially bombing the road block then taking out the AAAs. And I think where my problem is, is my timing on when to send in the two different teams. Soon as I get to WP 2 I'm given an option to send in the first team then not long after another message to send in the other one. And I don't get any JTAC option at all, not seeing it. I'll give it another go tonight when I get home. This one is taxing my life force lol

Hey good Pilots, I'm having some difficulty with mission 12 prisoners, Enemy Within. It's a night mission where you fly on your own and work with a Spec Ops crew and JTAC (well supposedly) The mission states that your supposed to anchor at WP 2 and wait for coordinates to come from JTAC for AAA locations, that never happens. Well I've flown this darn thing 20 times and never been contacted yet. Basically you have to clear a road block south of the main area where the prisoners are being held and once that's done, Spec Ops crew are able to storm the building and rescue the prisoners. Then after that your supposed to take out the AAA sites so a Rotor can come in and transport the prisoners out of the area. It's a great little mission but I think it's floored because I've done all that and still no orders to RTB or mission complete. I've also waited and flown around WP 2 for ages waiting for those coordinates to come early on in the mission but like I mentioned that doesn't happen either. I'm pretty stumped and not really sure what's going on with this one. I may have missed something but not sure what it is. The only options your given are to send in the Ops team to storm the building at your discretion and also to call in for the air support to pick up the prisoners after you take out the AAA's. Oh, and your also requested to be careful not to take out the building where the prisoners are being held for obvious reasons. And there's also a small road convoy with a AAA on the back of a truck thrown in for good measure. So if anyone can recall how they got through it or has just completed it, I would appreciate if you could let me know. Cheers, G

I found them. There all this time and I never bothered to check, wow. I'm going to get that Red Flag Campaign even though it looks tuff. Thanks again fellas, appreciate that.

Module manager huh! I'm checkin that out right now! Thanks good people! :o)

Hey I think it would be nice to fly my A-10C in Nevada! I purchased the NTTR Map quite sometime ago now for $50US which then was about $75 AU and also the F-15C Red Flag Campaign. This is was way before I got involved in HOTAS controls or my Hawg for that matter. I can fly a SU-27 an SU-33, SU-25 , F-15 AND an A-10A. Yea ok, so what's new but I think if you purchase a MAP and pay a decent price for it, you should be able to fly any AC in it. Even when I try to create new areas to fly in the quick missions, I can only fly my Hog in the Caucuses, the missions and campaigns are great but the same region can sometimes get a bit stale. I think there should be more maps to fly in or at least be able to cross over to NTTR when you want to, I don't understand why we can't. Just saying

Thanks very much kylekatarn720, that's awesome to know and I'll give it a try. And thanks for the tip mastersetter, appreciate it. Cheers fellas! G :o)

Hey there good Pilots I was wondering if there is any info out there in the ether about creating Waypoints. I know on page 458 of the manual there is but when I read that, it raised more questions than answers. Maybe someone here can clarify... it says in point form 1. Enter the elevation of the new waypoint in feet using the keypads/scratchpad and press the LSK next to the elevation field (EL) Then it says to enter the longitudinal and latitudinal coordinates and then create a name for your Wayount. My question is simply, how and where do I find out these details, elevation, longitude and latitude? I wish to create a route of about say 10 waypoints, so where do I start? I'm hoping there is some tutorial or guide to help me do this. It would be great if DCS had a detailed Navigation one in their training missions for the A-10C. So, if anyone could chime in with something, that'd be awesome, cheers. G :)

Thanks BD, it was a mean #!"£%# hehe and yes I did, learned how to fly at night in valleys, diving and trying to miss slamming into mountains, umm anger management and being patient haha. Started one now called Falcons and Hogs I think, supposed to NOT take out two tanks, looks interesting, can't wait to give a try tonight. Campaign missions are awesome I reckon, especially when you get that "YES!" feeling after you finally get through one.

Thanks Yurgs, appreciate that mate ;o)
-
Hi, I think it's B Left Ctrl and B Left Shift :)
-
Creating a mark point is easy enough but how do you create a new waypoint?
-
Food for thought, PC wise.. think I'll go the next model down. Thanks cichlidfan, appreciate your help.
-
Hmm you got me thinking now, thank you cichlidfan. I think I may just stay with my 55" Samsung 4K tv and forget about the 3 screen setup. I'm happy with res and settings but that SLI is a concern, why is this so? And does that mean SLI won't run in DCS?
-
Oh I forgot to mention, this is my next PC and I'm sure it would be more than capable of handling 3 screens. I'm really serious about this Hawg thing, I'm totally wrapped and want to enhance my experience in this amazing AC. MSI AEGIS TI3 I7-7700K 512GB 2TB GTX1080 SLI WIFI DVD-RW VR GAMING PC • Intel Core i7-7700K Processor (8MB Cache, up to 4.5GHz) • NVIDIA GeForce GTX1080 8GB 2-Way SLI Graphics • 32GB RAM, 512GB Solid State Drive, 2TB Hard Drive • Wireless AC, Bluetooth, USB3.1, Slim DVD Super Multi • 850W 80PLUS Platium Certified Power Supply • Windows 10 64bit
-
Thank you and I've heard 3 screens is quite demanding on graphics card but what if graphics or frame rate weren't an issue, what is this 3 cam lua you mentioned?
-
Hey good Pilots, I'm currently using my 55" UHD Samsung TV and yea it's a beautiful picture with nice res and I'm very happy with it but eventually I would like to free up my living room. I'm interested in having 3 screens so I can get nice left and right views from my cockpit but I'm not well versed in this setup and I don't want to be easy prey for some over zealous salesmen. I'm seeing a lot of curved monitors on the market but haven't seen one being used for flight sims. I've seen a 3 monitor setup on utube and it looks great so that's what I'm after. I'm wondering if the curved monitor produces the same effect as 3 monitors or is it possible to mix and match them? If anyone out there has this matrix set up or some tips about this I would be much appreciated. I'm thinking of 32 or 34" screens. And I wonder if any distributor sells them as a matrix set up? Cheers, G :helpsmilie:

Phew!! Finally got through Op Hammer part 3, that would be with out doubt the hardest mission I've ever flown. Good bye and adios. I'm wondering if this The Enemy Within Campaign mission tally being 21 includes the parts of missions as the total or is Operation Hammer for example 1 mission with a few parts? Hope that makes sense. Cheers, G
