EAF51_Jimmi

Visto che da qualche mese stiamo volando su DCS mi sembra il caso di presentarsi! L’EAF (European Air Force) è nata nel dicembre 1998, (si abbiamo da poco festeggiato 20 anni di attività) è costituita da un gruppo di amici (poi non tanto virtuali) che risiedono in diversi paesi, uniti da una grande passione per gli aerei ed il volo simulato. Abbiamo volato su EAW, IL2, Cliff of Dover, Battle of Stalingrad e recentemente abbiamo iniziato ad impiegare i velivoli WWII di DCS. Siamo organizzati in Squadron virtuali, appartenenti a diversi paesi europei, e nei momenti liberi ci incontriamo nei cieli (virtuali) della seconda guerra mondiale. Il 51° Stormo EAF, è nato il 17 Novembre 2000, ed è formato quasi totalmente da piloti italiani. Lo Stormo Virtuale è dedicato ad Italo Sapienza, uno dei primi a farne parte, improvvisamente mancato nel 2006, e sempre presente nel ricordo di coloro che lo hanno conosciuto. Abbiamo scelto il nome del 51° Stormo per un motivo preciso. Al momento della fondazione del gruppo utilizzavamo il simulatore EAW (European Air War). Avendo scelto di volare con aerei alleati il nostro caccia preferito era lo Spitfire. Al momento della nascita dello Squadron italiano la scelta del 51° Stormo fu quasi obbligata. Questo infatti fu storicamente l’unico reparto italiano (Aeronautica Co-Belligerante) dotato di Spitfire durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Vogliamo essere prima di tutto punto d’incontro per gli appassionati di simulatori di volo. Proprio per questo, all’interno dell’EAF, sono presenti persone esperte che possono aiutare, tramite una scuola di volo virtuale, coloro i quali si sono da poco avvicinati al mondo della simulazione online. Abbiamo anche un forum nel quale dibattere tutto quanto è legato alla nostra comune passione per il volo. Ci troviamo tutti i lunedì e giovedì sera per "giocare di ruolo", volare e ricreare missioni storiche. Ci interessa giocare di squadra, gli addestramenti e le tattiche. Spesso partecipiamo a tornei e campagne con e contro altre squadriglie virtuali. Didn't thought of this! Anyway we've joined briefly the server tonight all was fine! We left it short after when a friend who didn't had the Pony showed up! let's hope DCS will discount something on Black Friday!

Hi Eezk ty for all your work in keeping up this excellent server! my squadron is moving to DCS WWII and not everybody has bought yet planes or Normandy + Asset pack. Is Normandy asset pack needed to join the actual mission in kuban? Can you add just a pair of TF51 for recon purposes on the map? (to let 109s enjoy shooting them down and let those without modules enjoy a little multiplayer?)

if i edit that file the spitfire disappear from the mod list and if i try to connect online i get the reply you can't you require a pure client! other ideas??

I use a smooth transition from zoom in to zoom out! I don’t use a preset snapview but instead i use the zoom in slow and zoom out slow keys! The problem is that with DCS Spitfire and Dora (in particular but could happen in other modules) the zoomed out picture is a FISHEYE... (Apart not breaking the immersion, i think that having a smooth zoom is giving me an advantage too! That way you’ll go trough all the LOD levels and instinctively stop to the one I see the bogey better!) instead of jumping to a zoomed in zoomed out preset! I see some use a Tir axis to zoom instead of leaning your head back and forth in the cockpit, but i don’t think it’s natural! And that way i can’t lean close to instruments to read them better! Some other use the TM hotas wharthog axis increase and decrease grey slider as a zoom but using it i would have to leave the throttle (my fingers are long but not too much!) also when i tried it the vision flickered back and forth a little as the axis needed some sort of dead zone… So… still seeking advice and ideas! Note i use the same pov on my left thumb in the tm wharthog throttle in 2 other flight sims and also in dcs! it works fine apart the fisheye zoomed out picture… if possible i would prefer not to change my habits! so is there a way to limit the maximum zoom out slow fov?

I have CTD aswell! Where do i found a log like yours??
