So i started my DCS 1.5 up yesterday and hopped in the mig 15 and the cockpit was in russian (which is nice) but today i loaded it up and got korean or chinese, i tried changing the skin and the native language setting but got nothing. Any suggestion? Edit: The Nation select box is set to Russia and this is in the editor.

It's worth knowing the trim could have been messed with (from a landing) It is easy to hit the trim lever in the mig

fairly sure there is a Civil version of the Osprey but i don't know, there is not a lot of data about many new/current aircraft, hell the F-14 does not fly anymore but that being said, if they a third part developer works under a contract (such as being done with the typhoon) then maybe just maybe it could happen, however as stated it is limited considering it is a Combat sim and there is very little logistical stuff.

Very nice done sir, i my maximum amount of fuel i've took on from a tanker at one time was half the tank but is very hard to control my joysticks throttle as it is connected to my rudder, anyway +1

So recently i have spent 3 hours along with some other members diagnosing an issue that i had with the radios not working when a cold start has been performed even when the engine was fully started and all electrical equipment was on. This issue was determined as the old files not working with the newer radios as in the "instant action - cold start" you could start up but not contact Nalchik ATC however when we tried to recreate this in the mission editor we could not, The radio instantly worked when a MIG-21 was on a hot start from the ramp and the MIG-21s radio would work from a cold start in the editor which confused me however i then went into three different multiplayer servers and did the same thing. On the first two servers all of the radio options were grayed out but when the engine was started it detected it however radio communication was impossible with the ATC. On the final server when i started the engine and had the radio and electric set up it detected and when i go into the ATC options it had one option and the rest were in black. There was also an instance some other users reported of having to copy and paste the default missions into the editor and save over them to get the comms working for certain aspects. A different user did the same tests that i did and got the same results in the single player and editor aspect. This leads me to believe that it is mission files that are causing the errors as the newer ones work with the radio. So the MIG-21 missions for both single and multiplayer need to updated and people need to be made aware of this bug. The thread in which we discussed the issue: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=152653&highlight=Radio+issues

where would i go about posting bugs? EDIT: Never mind, found it

I'm using 1.2, and in both the cold start and multiplayer the radio will not work regardless of the engine, however that being said i have just went into the mission spawned in a hot mig 21 then shut it down completely and re-started the electrical systems and engine systems and the radio works, Tried doing a cold start with exactly the same settings and got nothing in terms of the radio working other the it auto detecting a start up in the instant action however in the Editor i started it up from cold running the same setting and actually got a response from the ATC once the engine was started and all electrical systems were on. Edit: I do believe that the issue is a complete failure of the missions as in the mission editor you can get the plane started and have the radio working when the engine is on and you have electrical power. When going into the instant action cold start the radio did not work at all however during testing in multiplayer servers on some occasions the radio worked, i would expect this to be on a newer built from the ground up server file. If need be i recommend starting the MIG-21 with ground power to be safe and for Multiplayer missions/servers to have ramp starts for MIG-21 until the radio issues are fixed. The radios should not be messed with in the editor either with regards to their preset frequencies.

The hot start works, the only weird thing is that the ATC does not recognise the plane is started so hot starts work on the ground from the ramp. I used channel 16 to contact Senaki-Kolkhi

i don't know, i don't know how to use the editor well so i can only spawn in aircraft that are turn t off
-
That's my point, a strange occurrence, have you tried to do it in multiplayer servers as well? I think it varies from file to file though as the person can probably change the preset freqs that are attached to the channels (though i'm not sure why they would mess with this), In an MIG-21 Cold start guide it says to turn "SARPP-12 BLACK BOX" on and also it mentions something about a Radio light. Even if i followed the official one it would not work and also if i placed an aircraft on the ground in the mission editor that would not work either, it would only work if i spawned it in the air so i think it is definitely a cold start/ground issue. Attached checklist below.

It literally does not seem to work in the instant action cold start in Nalchik, when it does work it is only with placed units with their aircraft fully powered and flying. Could you post how you go about starting your MIG and how you configure the radio etc and i will try it that way, i tried the same starting procedure as shown on the Leatherneck Mig-21 youtube video. I wonder if it could even be something in the controls.
-
That is the one that swaps it from ARK to RSBN but that in itself does not directly stop the radio working.
-
if you're referring to the one that resides on the main switch board above the the weapons switches yes.
-
I used the Kneeboard to specifically get the frequencies which were right however in multiplayer the radios could possibly be subject to change assuming that the creator messed with the frequencies (which i did not in editor) by the thing is that for example if i set the mig on the ground as a cold start aircraft and i had the frequency set to channel 8 it would not work but then if i put the height as 6000ft with a relevant speed and then loaded it the radio would work and with regards to the ILS there are videos of it trying to kill people i.e nosing down at a height where it cannot recover even if said aircraft was going fast enough to maintain a height.

So i have been having issues with the radio where i would be able to contact ground crew at a cold start but not the ATC baring in mind i have the Battery heat, inverters 1 and 2, Battery, DC Generator and Radio Switch in the up position (on the right hand electrical panel) as well as the correct radio channel entered and got nothing. I tried going into the mission editor spawned in a Mig-21 and tried contacting the atc and it worked and i tried that because i'd also been having some ILS problems with the SAU trying to kill me when i wanted it to follow the glide slope but when i tried with the air spawn in the editor it was fine so i believe the two to be a related issue. So to sum it up: -Radio will not work on a cold start even when the engine is on and spinning at a stable rpm with all electric on and the correct channel entered. -Air spawning in the editor seems fix this issue -PRMG(ILS) does not function correctly if the radio does not work correctly. All of the above happen in both multiplayer and singleplayer. Any Solutions?

Avro Vulcan XH558, T-45C Goshawk and Flight Training
zcrazyx replied to zcrazyx's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Hmm this is all true, as for the computer i believe it is based in a WW2 Bombing one of sorts, so i'm sure there will be a wealth of information somewhere and i did like flying the FSX one but i was itching to drop nukes, speaking of which if the mig 21 cannot have its nuke in multiplayer (most servers ban them) I highly doubt the Vulcan will be allowed a yellow sun for example. -

No TU-95 in the list? -

I cannot see how the current map size could be an issue as the Vulcan is a sub sonic aircraft however papi lights at all airfields or even a large airport with proper facilitys for Vulcan would be a good idea as i believe it may not fit on the taxi ways of most current airfields -

True however there are some issues, the only airworthy Vulcan has stopped flying due to funding and maintenance issues which will limit how 'real' the in game one could feel but then again whose to say that money can't be raised to get up again however in saying that there are a lot of historical documentation of the aircraft. And as for the T-45 there could also be a problem that it is a operational military aircraft however it is just a trainer so what could be the worst that could happen right? we have the A-10A/C. It has also been made in games like FSX so it couldn't be too far away for VEAO to model it as they already have done the Hawk and it would make a fine Variation of such an aircraft. -
Would post this in the Wishlist section but i cannot post there. I would very much like to see these aircraft implemented into DCS because the Vulcan is a V bomber capable of dropping conventional or nuclear ordnance as well as being able to out maneuver an F-4 Phantom at high altitude as well as doing some long distance missions such as during the Falkands Conflict using Multiple tankers to air to air refuel and continue mission. I would also the T-45C being somewhat like the Hawk T1 but navalised with a stronger frame, gear as well as the addition of a tailhook, it would also allow the USS Nimitz to have a place as well especially when other naval fighters roll out. The last thing i want to suggest is an overhaul to the A10C module with regards to the training module because as we all know it is unrealistic in that does not proper employment of features such as the radios, ILS, TACAN as well as many other features such as weapons deployment nor does the tutorial tell you specific key binding names with regards the mapping in case the're not pre-mapped for any reason - Thoughts and opinions?
