  1. When I first start out in the Tomcat, it has the default FOV where all three mirrors appear on my screen; however, when I use zoom, the FOV resets to much closer where I can no longer see the side two mirrors and will not go back to the original FOV. Anybody have an idea of what's going on here?
  2. If you love aviation and flight simulation, the F-14 is absolutely incredible to fly and experience. I have the F/A-18 and F-16, but nothing comes close to how much pure enjoyment and fun I have flying the Tomcat.
  3. Û re Thanks Airhunter...don't know how I missed that, great to hear! Well, seeing how the ED Super Carrier may still be a ways off, the Forrestal will be great to have.
  4. Oh boy, why does this have to be so complicated!? Okay, so I delete TARGET and Windows Store, unplug all Thrustmaster devices, reinstall TARGET, plug everything back in, then try again...
  5. I have a Thrustmaster TWCS throttle and I am trying to assign a keypress to an axis, specifically the scroll wheel on the side and the ministick. I believe I have figured out how to do it in the TARGET GUI, but when I run the script, it doesn't seem to work. The script runs without errors. It looks like a combined controller is created but when I test it, there is no response from any input on the throttle. In DCS , the throttle works fine, but I am using bindings under the TWCS column and not the combined controller. Any tips or suggestions?
  6. Is today's newsletter the update you mentioned or will there be more? The information provided is really nothing new.
  7. Will the Forrestal come with custom deck vehicles and if so, will they be able to be placed via the mission editor?
  8. The new carrier is looking really good...maybe a little too good. What kind of performance can we expect to see? As of right now, you put a few Hornets and Tomcats on the Stennis and FPS drops significantly.
  9. All aircraft and weather conditions were equal. How the results are measured would not change the results. The F-16 and F/A-18 are capable of initially reaching speeds much more quickly than the F-14 right now. The Tomcat is about 50kts slower in acceleration by the end of the runway on a clean, full internal fuel, full AB takeoff when compared to release. Here is a link to my initial test close after release... https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3887809&postcount=18 I wonder if performance is closer to reality now or back at release?
  10. Yes, there is obviously something seriously wrong with the F-16 right now as more and more of us are reporting issues about uncommanded roll in the air and yaw/drift on the ground.
  11. Right bank? Everything I have experienced and seen reported on the forums is about left bank in the air and left drift on the ground. Do you guys have tracks showing this?
  12. I did a bit more testing earlier and the ground handling and rudder behavior just seems way off. It is like the F-16 has no weight to it, just glides around like it's on ice. There seems to be missing friction/resistance with the ground. The rudder sensitivity also seems minimally responsive to any amount of curve I put in. They remain extremely sensitive and require centimeters worth of movement during the takeoff roll as I attempt to get back onto and stay on centerline, even at a curve of +75. The results are that I swerve back and forth uncontrollably. I wish I could troubleshoot this but I am out of ideas. Like I have said, I have absolutely no issues with any other aircraft. Even in crosswinds and with asymmetric loadouts, I can control the rudder and stay in control at all times. I do not know what is so different with the F-16 other than this being a bug of some sort.
  13. Maybe, but how would this explain a left roll seen in a clean jet with no external tanks. We of course still have no explanation for the left drift on takeoff, as a fuel imbalance could not be the cause of that.
  14. Are there still plans to allow the Jester menu radial selection to be assigned to an axis? I have always felt that the mini stick with push button on my throttle would be perfect for this instead of using my TrackIR. Thank you!

  15. I know this is about top end speed, but as far as initial acceleration compared to the F-16 and F/A-18, the F-14 is the slowest and F-16 is the quickest. Easy way to test this is standard day, clean jets, full fuel...takeoff full AB, immediately raise gear and level off right above runway. Check your speed right as you hit the end of the runway. I remember doing this test after initial release of the Tomcat and it was a bit faster back then, comparable to the Hornet's initial acceleration performance. It seems to be about 30kts slower by the end of the runway now.
  16. Ha! If that was only the case...I would then at least have an explanation!
  17. Yes, clean aircraft and no wind.
  18. Ha! Me too! Thanks again buddy. I am really hoping Wags or someone from ED can hop in here and tell me that I am either crazy or that there is an issue/bug.
  19. I use a rudder curve of 25 on all aircraft. The F-5 is sensitive, but I have no problems. I have tried AB and Mil power with the same results. I posted tracks of each somewhere back in this thread.
  20. Yes to both, as well as the F/A-18, F-14, F-86, and P-51. I have never had any problems with ground handling and the rudder...the P-51 took some practice of course but I got the hang of it. The F-16 is a mystery to me. If alignment was an issue, I would experience this behavior in other aircraft, but I don't. I can start the mission on the runway or taxi to it and the results are the exact same and I see the left drift as I roll down the runway. I have tried all types of curve, including 50% and nothing seems to help. I really appreciate you trying to help and troubleshoot this though.
  21. Thank you for checking. So you think this is normal behavior? The F-16 will always yaw to the left on the takeoff roll? If so, then my expectations and understanding may be a bit off. For me, the initial yaw on takeoff is uncontrollable due to the oversensitivity I am experiencing with rudder inputs. This of course can be an issue on my end, however; I do not have any issues with rudder input on other aircraft that a bit of curve won't solve. I was not expecting the F-16 to be this difficult to control on the ground. Again, I have no problems with any other aircraft and just wonder if it's me or the F-16.
  22. Yes, two different issues here, which may or may not be related to each other. In my opinion, both are "game breaking." It is a serious problem when you have an aircraft making uncommanded movements. I am hoping we hear an update from ED on both issues soon.
  23. Is increasing the external lighting brightness going to be included in this Q4 update? Thanks!
  24. You say you don't see any pull...but then say it requires a little right rudder. So what is it doing then? What is causing it to pull, yaw, drift or whatever you want to call it, to the left? If this is normal behavior for the F-16, then fine. We just need some input from ED saying so and stating the cause of this behavior. As for other DCS aircraft staying on centerline, the Hornet and Tomcat do. I have posted tracks in this thread showing the Hornet staying on centerline and the F-16 not...same exact conditions. No wind, clean jet, the F-16 requires constant rudder correction to stay on centerline, other aircraft require no rudder input at all. My takeoff in the Hornet and Tomcat remain on centerline with my feet flat on the floor.
  25. Yes, other than the F-16's over sensitive rudder and strange ground behavior during takeoff and landing, the left drift during the takeoff roll is a huge issue as well. Take a look at the following thread about the issue and post your tracks showing the behavior... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=251375
