  1. Too long...my whole life really...the wait is now over. We will finally be able to fly the mighty F-16 in DCS! Thank you ED!!! What ED has been doing is really impressive. They continue to raise the bar. Keep up the amazing work!
  2. Can we get the takeoff speed chart as seen in the takeoff video from Wags put into the manual? Thank you!
  3. Wags, What are your stick curves for the F-16 when using the Warthog stick? Is it +15 like you have with the Hornet? Thanks!
  4. We finally made it! Well done ED and thank you! I can't wait to fly it!
  5. What is the standard procedure for operating the external lighting in the F-16? Anti-Collision: When are they turned on and what are the different flash modes used for? Flash/Steady: When is flash or steady used? Wing/Tail/Fuselage: When are these turned on? The formation lights and master covert seem self explanatory. Thanks for the help!
  6. ILS landing is now up...and so is the Early Access Manual!!!
  7. Now that's the spirit! :pilotfly:
  8. +1 I saw a very noticeable improvement in performance(smoothness/reduced stutters) when I moved DCS from an HDD to an SSD a couple of years ago. You have a ton of available space...just do it! :pilotfly:
  9. +1 I am very much hoping that it is a hint to future plans, but why just hint and not come out and say yes, we will be releasing an upgraded Cougar HOTAS. With the F-16 release imminent, it would be a great time to make such an announcement for both ED and Thrustmaster.
  10. Wow, what a great and fun idea! I will be following this closely! Amazing work on the model!
  11. Oh man! Then I guess having these two as voice actors is a no go as well...
  12. I never found the map useful in the F/A-18 or A-10 either and always had them off. I am looking forward to not having it in the F-16 as well as the simplicity of having only two MFDs.
  13. Great stuff yet again from Wags. I really appreciate this look behind the scenes. The F-16 is coming together nicely and looks to have a great number of features and functionality at early access release. Keep up the great work ED! Yep, my guess is October 16...so excited release is finally almost here!
  14. Ha! Yes, that is a much more simple and better way of locating it. Thanks!
  15. Excellent post by Nick Grey and very much appreciated. It is very informative, honest, and transparent. His words make me want to support ED even more. This is all a very important hobby for me and I am very thankful that ED is around to provide DCS for us.
  16. +1 The following gives great insight into how ED operates and who they are... https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4045236&postcount=4
  17. I watched the solo video more closely and noticed that they were using a row of white cargo containers out in the desert as reference. I did some searching on Google Maps and believe that I found the location. You can also see the location in DCS with the satellite view in the Mission Editor. It's roughly located at 36°44'38"N 115°41'11"W, about 8nm north of Creech AFB. I have found several official USAF websites that mention Creech AFB as being the training site for the Thunderbirds, however; I have not found any videos of them practicing over the airbase itself, only out in the open desert.
  18. You would think Thrustmaster could not make this type of mistake considering their close partnership with ED...oh well, no harm done and it has provided some entertainment as we wait for the official release. I really hope that the tease from Thrustmaster about the Cougar HOTAS has some substance to it and that they really will start producing the throttle again...
  19. Wags/BIGNEWY/NineLine, How is the F-16 manual looking? I know it will be a work in progress throughout the early access period, but will we be getting an initial version at release? Thank you!
  20. Thanks guys! I can always count on the 476th vFG for great information! I just saw these videos too and it sure does look like the Solos fly out north of Creech. I had always thought that the area north of Creech were bombing and gunnery ranges though. With your info, I did some research and found that restricted airspace R-4806E in the Alamo MOA has an area called Thunderbird Lake...I think this might be the spot.
  21. Here is to wishing for a way to represent the USAF Thunderbirds in DCS! I know the USAF Thunderbirds do not currently fly the DCS version of the F-16, but I think an exception can be made at the sacrifice of absolute realism. Obviously, this is not a priority item for ED at initial release, but hopefully at some point we can see the following: USAF Thunderbirds paint (created by ED or users), to also include flight suits and helmet Removal of wing pylons Realistic smoke (from the engine nozzle, not the wing tips) It doesn't seem like it would take much, so hopefully this will become a reality after the initial release. Thanks ED!
  22. Thanks for the update NineLine, very exciting news! I have been waiting to hear those words! Keep up the great work ED! I am sure the wait for an update will be worth it to all virtual pilots.
  23. Is there a specific part of the Nellis Test and Training Range that is designated for where the Thunderbirds train/practice?
  24. Thanks for the update and all of the videos! They are incredible to watch and very informative. Things are getting very exciting with the F-16 now! Nice work with the rockets by the way...Obi-Wan Kenobi would be proud!
  25. That's great! Welcome to the F-16 club! Oh, and happy early birthday!
