Yes, it drives me nuts. It usually takes you calling them out in chat to get them on SRS.

This. The only real tip there can be, assuming you have your equipment setup properly, is practice practice practice. You'll get to the point where it's muscle memory and it'll only be an after thought.

Flew for the first time on this server yesterday. I only had an hour but it was a blast. I second the idea to have separate comms freq for the different mission types. 251 for general purpose and traffic, and another for AWACS/GCI. Either way, tons of fun!

To each their own, I've just never gotten into them.

Any word on changing the era to allow -10C's or coming back to 1.5? Blue flag is my favorite by far, just can't justify buying a different model just to fly on it.

+100000 Got strafed not once, not twice, but three times by a dude in a friendly F-15 while I was starting up on the ramp at Sochi last night. His user name was completely uncalled for as well. And yes, I think TS should be a requirement to fly. Not even so much as having a mic maybe, but just being able to listen so GCI and other airborne units can advise you.

If you're able, I'd say a headset with mic is almost a requirement. I can't see how anyone could really be effective without communicating with the rest of the team. The chat is clumsy, most of us have it minimized, and is a death trap to try to type something while flying low or defensive. If you invest in one, I would bet top dollar your outlook on MP would vastly improve.

TeamSpeak will be your best friend in the MP world. Everything as far as systems and such go are the same as in SP - however missions, tasks and areas may be different and/or restricted for certain types of gameplay. Find a server that is regularly populated and has teamspeak and chat up the people there. 104th is a good place to start, as well as hoggit. One thing you will find about this online community is that by majority, it is a much more mature, professional group of enthusiasts as opposed to some other games.

Pretty much this. I would love to do more A2A, but the current version of the F-15 (Unclickable cockpit, etc etc) just doesn't do it for me. So, if I want to fly an American aircraft, and enjoy it - I have to stick to the A-10C. The F-16 has long been my favorite fighter, ever since I can remember going to airshows and I would love for it to become a part of the DCS world.

Are you setting the strela in your TGP as SPI and slaving the mav to it afterwards?

This happens on blue also, when round 5 started comms was a mess. Although whisper lists can and do help, it would be awesome if one day we can implement aries or universe.

Although this isn't advice on specific hardware, check out pcpartpicker.com if you haven't already. They have lots of example builds for low, mid, and high end systems. It also allows you to "build" our own on paper and will point out any compatibility errors with any hardware you've selected. It will also point you to which dealer has the lowest prices on that item at the time.

First, let me start off and say that I did do a search for this and had 0 returns. If this has been addressed before, I apologize. Last night I was flying with a buddy who was in a 10A and I in a 10C. Since I lacked the ability to use SADL, I decided I would attempt to walk him in on the targets visually (Under NVGs of course) with the IR pointer. Once I activated it, I looked out my canopy to confirm it was on. However he was on able to acquire the beam (he was flying ~150 meters off my right flank) We did some more maneuvering to confirm it wasn't being blocked by any of my stores and still no joy. Now I know the standalone modules have no issue seeing these pointers, as I have done it many times before. I was wondering is this a known issue with the 10A NVGs?

Oh? I thought that was only done with a pave penny, which the 10A in game lacks.

Woulda been phenomenal last night. Instead, walking a 10A in on an airfield littered with AAA, Shilkas and ZSUs had to be done - and that ended up in a "phenomenal" explosion above the field.
