WORLDS APART Spring 2025 Information
CHPL replied to CHPL's topic in WORLDS APART Spring 2025 Campaign
Still waiting for the update. Sorry but it's up to ED. You may skip the cargo task bevor the AI slips into the water be referring to the Dokumentation :book: -
The trigger zone, in that case, is tiny, so you need to overfly them right above, best made from behind or frontal. Campaign building is also an evolutionary process, so we learned from mission to mission. Many things already added or changed bevor release, many others simply so common we don't realize by ourselves. So we take all user feedback together and go over any single mission and improve everything that's not only necessary, makes sense, or is in an acceptable frame. Mission 1,2 and 3 will be updated firs, soon.
-
Failed the mission because of the convoy? We learned a lot in the past and such "an ad on" or "gimmick" not crucial for the mission should have no effect on the mission progress.

For some kind of real Navigation, you go to the Flightplaner take a pen and paper and plot course and distance from waypoint to waypoint. Calculate the time en route between the waypoints by using 80 knots cruise speed. So by following your course and distance measuring while keeping 80 knots ( not 60 and not 100) :music_whistling: comparing that with time en route you find your way from one point to another. For Backup reasons peck up some landmarks in the vicinity of the WP from the map, like Road crossings, rivers, and settlements. If you get used to it you may add wind and wind correction angels. Verry common is IFR in Helicopters I Follow Roads.:pilot fly:

The adjustment of the firepower may be one thing, but another thing is that door gunners simply refuse to shoot, even if the target right in front of them. Or they ignore the obvious target right in front and shoot instead over the whole battlefield on a target I don't care about.

Mission 5-2 - Trees prohibit land
CHPL replied to DataX's topic in WORLDS APART Spring 2025 Campaign
What shud I say it's DCS. The Convoy created with the Mission Mission Editor sometimes stops bevor crashing into the Aircraft and sometimes it doesn't. Civil traffic is great for the atmosphere but pretty bad when it does not interact with placed objects. Thas the reason wey partially deactivating of civil traffic is a request out of the community for a while. Personally, I would be happy, when the Option in the mission builder to activate or deactivate civil traffic will be fixed or implemented. Many options already there but not working jet. It's a question of priority. Best way to deal with it is deactivating or waiting for a gap in the traffic flow. -
Mission 5-2 - Trees prohibit land
CHPL replied to DataX's topic in WORLDS APART Spring 2025 Campaign
Yes, they do. I fly always with civil traffic off :smilewink: The function in the mission editor to assign that to a mission is actually not working. -
Again many thanks for taking the time and expressing your opinions as positive feedback that we use to improve the missions. So we will already check the time massages are displayed in any mission to make sure it is good to read and understand. But you are absolutely right. Flying a mission of the campaign is challenging and stressful. That's exactly what we have intended. Especially when it comes to open battle in real life nothing is clear and easy. In DCS you're looking for your target and shoot them while checking e-mails - that's bull.... I am not a military pilot, but even in civil aviation things are not that easy as you may expect from flight simulators. But we don't want a Campaign for experts and beliving our approach with AI wingman's as navigation assistance and the CO providing information and tips is not a bad one. But we also realized, that for many fellow pilots we need to do even more. So we actually clarifying and adding information to the missions. The first update related to these efforts is actually transferred to ED and will be hopefully released soon. We already put more than 100 hours of work and testing in mostly mission 2 and 3 and we will continue with all the other ones as well. Again Thanks for your constructive feedback
-
Yes. During the flight, you are for too long to high, so they hear you coming and the ZU 23 is already active. Your CO is watching Altitude TOT and Torque and tells you any time when one of them is too high. But only once or twice as long as you above the limit, so you have to make sure to get below that again fast. If you within limits the ZU-23 is not active at your arrival and needs a few seconds for orientation and you may destroy it when directly overflying it. If you miss them dive directly behind them into the valley for a low approach to the Radar Station. Otherwise, the ZU-23 will shoot you into your back. So stay as low as possible above the treetops  Good luck
-
Thanks for the feedback. This is what we actually working on, improving the mission information. Do you use the Kneeboard?
-
No need to hurry. Just wanna make sure there will be a Number 9. Because many pilots don't show up the last time without notice I was worried you use your time in a different way. February will be great
-
This is hard to answer :smilewink: Many players struggling with the missions, still have a lot of fun, because of the realism and they use it as a challenge improving their flying skills. The way the video shows, is the way I like it most, and for sure the most realistic one because you use the terrain. You may fly even higher and get some damage but this not means you gonna die for sure. You may also take your time, but don't expect the enemy waiting for you. So if you need some time to bring up the MANPAD you have to avoid the KA-50, which means sometimes you have to wait until shes's gone instead of rushing in regardless of the level of thread. The Video was made to serve Ralphk's needs and did that very successfully. If you struggle with the mission, please let me know what causes your frustration and I will, if possible, show you a way suitable for you and if needed to make a video showing you a different approach. As I already said in an earlier thread, the biggest challenge is situation awareness much more important than speed and low-level flying skills. You always welcome
-
Hey and a happy new year. January is also over in a week. Have you any plans for Number 9?
-
Great to see your progress! The Bravo team is on the opposite side of the valley. Refer to the Kneeboard there is a map with a picture. Bravo is at LZ 2. Behind the left corner of the building when you take the picture as a reference. But they also drop smoke when you takeoff  Be careful crossing the valley, the shortest way may not the best because of the MANPAD down there.
-
Congratulations Wingcomander Ralphk :thumbup::pilotfly:
-
I'm flying too fast, which refers to the lack of control especially during the landing behind the tree. So there should be always a good relation between speed and control over the aircraft. Otherwise, you will crash. I missed the tree only for a few centimeters  Because it is in combat, you don't get into ground idle. But you right the information for takeoff is late. In fact, the next thing is triggered by raising the collective. The purpose is to relieve you from pressure when more time is needed so you can't miss a message. But you are right it can be improved and is already on the to-do list for the mission update. Looking forward to your video :pilotfly:

13 January 2020 Today we transmitted our first significant campaign update to ED and hope it will be released in the coming days. Many thanks for all the positive and constructive feedback. We listen to this and have put over 100 hours of work and testing into this update! All changes are intended to make it easier for players to find their way around the missions. Especially in Mission 2, where many struggling with the cargo transport task, but in the best helicopter pilot tradition, never give up fighting and refuse to skip the mission. And then sadly kicked out by AI behavior. Full change log: Documentation in the German language added Mission 1 F-10 Map Marker added Score system changed Skip Mission function available at the second task (final score 55) Mission 2 F-10 Map Marker added Score system changed Al landing points slightly chanced Tasks 1 to 3 – When cargo destroyed, these facts and options are displayed. Task 2 - Information about the time limit added. Many knew voice-overs during cargo transport added. WOLF 1 no longer slides into the water. The mission will continue in time. Skip Mission function available before the third task (final score 55) Cargo changed – Container doesn’t flip over and gets destroyed that easy anymore. Mission 3 F-10 Map Marker added Score system changed Many Voice-Overs improved More inversion- Mi-8 at Tango Bravo now on the radio talking and announcing their current position (voice-overs added) Task two / recapture the outpost, adopted. Skip Mission function available before the second task (final score 55) ============ The update is actually for 2.56 only but because of issues in 2.56 not playable Mission 1 break after 80% and mission 2 after 50%. If you have the stable 2.55 and the Beta 2.56 installed you may try to copy the mission files (1,2 and 3) from the Beta Folder into the Stable 2.55. Everything works fine in 2.55  Sorry for the inconvenience but ED is working hard on fixing the problems soon :smilewink:

This is, at the time, the most inversive, detailed, and sophisticated helicopter campaign in DCS. There are high requirements for pilotage and situation awareness. It should be a challenge for all players but still be accessible for beginners. We feel committed to this, and accordingly, we try to react to feedback and make improvements where appropriate. :smilewink: LIST OF PREVUES UPDATES ANNOUNCEMENT 13. January 2020 / Mission 1 to 3 updated 14. February / its finally out there  (watch the video below) .

- - I've tried to take it slow; my nerves can't make it.- - - - SPOILER ALLARM - - TROP TRANSPORT TASK / BATHING IN ADRENALINE And how to avoid being shot down! When on the battlefield, more crucial than precisely flying the helicopter is situation awareness. To find suitable ways and to avoid getting into the firing line. This video shows the Transport task in Mission 5-1 from the pilot's perspective two times. So I did it a second time and at the end of the task, I flew directly over the battlefield. THERE ARE ALSO NEW DEVELOPERS VIEW VIDEOS RELEASED IN THE PAST WEEKS FOR MISSION 2 AND 3

SECOND TRY / ClOSE TO A HARD ATTACK Give me more time and fly over the battlefield at the end.

Mission 5-1 Troop transport !SPOILER ALLARM! @Ralphk Hey, as promised I uploaded a short video about the transport task in Mission 5-1. - - I've tried to take it slow; my nerves can't make it.- - I did it two times, so any part is about 12 minutes. As you can see, I never get even close to a KA-50, just passing an unarmed burning Mi-8 during the first try. At the very end of the first 12 minutes, you can see a Mi-8 and possible a KA-50 in a far distance, that's it. No danger at all if you stay away from there approach and departure routes. I hope you have fun watching, and even more flying the mission once or twice again :pilotfly:

WORLDS APART Spring / Mission 3 This video shows Mission 3 from the developer's point of view. It is 100% complete and uncut. The video contains voice-overs; you won't find in the 2019 version of the Mission because we made significant improvements, and one of them is additional voice-overs. The official update expected to be released by ED in January 2020. .
-
There is already an option in the ME to open the doors by trigger action, and by the player over the keyboard. The only thing I miss is a way to get the AI open up their doors without a hostile target available. No front doors are not really common.
