Multiplayer Server hosten (nicht dedicated) mit Vodafone Cablemodem Arris?
CHPL replied to roxxdahouse's topic in Deutsch

:joystick:

Congratulation  Flying helicopters really depends on a good control tup. Great to see that kind of extension. Is this original Thrustmaster? The longer arm increases the sensibility of your control inputs by 3 times and you also have the chance to rest your arm on your knee, which increases stability. If you add a collective, it will be again a lot more ( easy is the wrong therm) natural and thereby your already developed skills showing up suddenly.

Hey The mission will be updated in the coming week with the next Beta update. The problem is related to the UH-1 damage model. Your pilot gets shot and for the scoring system he is dead, but he refuses to day in the Game. So the mission is actually playable when avoiding to catch too many groundfire. Keep more distance to the enemy so more bullets pass you by. :pilotfly:

W.A.S. 2025 Campaign - Missions report.
CHPL replied to Sydy's topic in WORLDS APART Spring 2025 Campaign
It was not intended as a night mission, actual it was during sunset, but it seems many things changing right now in DCS. We fixe that in the upcoming mission update. -
W.A.S. 2025 Campaign - Missions report.
CHPL replied to Sydy's topic in WORLDS APART Spring 2025 Campaign
Checked mission 5-2 today. The video is coming soon. Lots of power available in the mission. :music_whistling: Think about - you may exceed the TOT limit for 2 minutes when taking off from the street. Just rais the collective slowly but constant to make sure RPM stays within limits. (vertical takeoff) Do not make vertical landings! keep moving forward, close to the ground. :smartass: -
A stick extension is always a good idea. 1. Because of the long arm forces by the springs much less and it is more relaxed flying. 2. A longer arm increases the "resolution" of the pilot's inputs because of, the way you have available doubles, and it also feels much more realistic. :joystick:

I love your textures! They look so used and dirty. Do you have them available for download?

There are some indications in the forum, that this will be fixed with the next beta update.
-
No - there is no stabilizing System in the Huey besides the Pilot :pilotfly: At the moment, the KA-50 is the only drone in DCS :music_whistling: If you need help? We assist you in becoming a good helicopter pilot in a short amount of time. Send me a private message or join the Helicopter Pilot Meeting Point on DISCORD https://discord.gg/CXCA7rf It is up to you

At the moment the mission on the server is unplayable because of desyncs :( Players' aircraft is morving around like in a StarTrack movie. I hope this will be solved with the next server patch as well.

Back to the checkpoint where you started the mission. There is the bomb squad already arrived and waiting for you. Pick them up and fly them to the bridge and the tires. :pilotfly: Too late for you but we working on the timeframes massages are displayed.
-
Will try that and limiting the number of units active fiering at the same time. Several Artilleri firing at the moment also.

First, we make some more improvements to the existing one. Mission 4 to 11 need still some care to make it more accessible for low time Huey Pilots and to clarify some situations you may be in doubt about what's next during the mission. But we already working on Summer 2025. No release date right now.

Intel® Xeon® E5-2620v3, E5-2630v4 oder 4114 Prozessor 16 GB RAM 400 GB SSD WINDOWS SERVER Lots of units in the mission but most of them not active at that time or on hold with a waypoint action STOP command. 1 S 300 Group out of the ME Manny Static objects, but they should not have that kind of effect.

You are always welcome:thumbup: One for all, and all for one :pilotfly:

@BranchPrediction I am sure you did it unintentionally, but you open pandora's box when asking questions about helicopter physics.:music_whistling: Ther is no roll tendency because of the dissymmetry of lift ( forward-moving / against backward moving rotor blade and the resultant airspeed difference). While the difference in airspeed is a fact, the lift generated by the rotor blades (with the same pitch angle) is, in general, the same, regardless of it's forward or backward moving. The reason is blade flapping. The forward moving blade moves (flaps) also upwards reducing the Angle of Attack and thereby the lift produced. While the backward moving blade flaps down increasing the Angle of Attack and thereby the amount of lift. So the system tries to equalize itself. In a semirigid (2 Blade) Rotorsytem this flapping is supported by the tethering Hinch and works like an analog balance. When on side moves up because of more lift created, the other side automatically moves down. In a fully articulated rotor system, any rotor blade is supported by a flapping hinge that allows him to flap independently. In a rigid rotor system, flapping is supported due to bending in the rotor head structure and or the Rotorblade itself. Which requires a material that absorbs this bending without breaking. ( Be aware: Flapping leads to dislocation of the center of gravity in the rotor blade with respect to the rotor disc, and thereby to acceleration and deceleration of the rotor blades called; lead and lag. But this is another story. :smilewink: The sideward moving tendency in a helicopter when accelerating belongs mainly to the transverse flow effect. The push by the tail rotor is mostly counteracted by construction. In most cases due to a tilted main rotor drive shaft. Because this is highly complex and dynamic, the pilot has to level any of this tendency in a small amount. :book::doh::cry: Helicopter flight, in general, is a miracle. And good must be a helicopter pilot because for any problem in physics there is a solution to make helicopters possible anyway. This can't be a coincidence.

Mission 6 communications not working
CHPL replied to petecassar's topic in Mi-8MTV2 and Ka-50 Memory of a Hero Campaign
Same thing in the UH-1 for quite a while. There it only works on the ground or when the intercom selector switch is set to private. Don't know if there is anything similar to select in the Mi-8 -
WELCOME NEW HELICOPTER PILOTS No matter why you got, a helicopter module installed in your DCS. It`s just because of curiosity? Do some actual sales offer? Are you merely collecting aircraft modules? Or the passion for helicopter flight has effected you. :pilotfly: We are interested and willing to help you in becoming a proficient simulator helicopter pilot and part of our small but getting more and more powerful Simulator Helicopter Pilot Comunity. Flying around like in an airplane is fun in a helicopter as well. Still, it is far away from the real helicopter experience you can get in DCS when accepting the challenge and get al little bit more focused on training instead of just only having fun. In DCS you can have both. Fun and the experience what it means to be a HELICOPTER -Pilot So we like to encourage you besides the Tutorials available for self-study, to look for an online squadron, or just someone assisting you in your efforts and provides you with tips and tricks.

That is also correct but it depends on the situation. If you are alone you do it sideways, the tail rotor away from the slope. The tail rotor is the main issue at slope landings. In close formation and depending on the amount of slope the way I subscribed it for the mission may be less dangerous because you have always visual to your wingman. Refer to some Vietnam Videos, when they drop troops on mountain ridges they don't care about "normal procedures" out of the Pilots operating handbook because of the special circumstances. The pilot has to know the rules, but during a flight, he is the final authority and usually, the difference between good or bad or alive or dead pilots is the decisions they made. One actual example: The rotor strike of two Police helicopters in Los Angeles, one landing and one preparing for takeoff during rain. The landing pilot with water on the windshield and therefore bad visibility referring to the Handbook and tried to land directly on the H (which promised safe clearance) without clarification of the actual situation. The helicopter on the takeoff run for any reason not correctly placed on the H by the ground personal ...... boooom. So in the military world, you still have the rules and the procedures but often the circumstances are not standardized because of a highly dynamic and for other reasons deadly environment.

The inverter is part of the checklist :music_whistling: If you don't use one you should memorize it by repeating the startup several times or watching this video I recommend this video as well, bevor getting started Concerning engine startup in mission 3 / You missed it :smilewink: Don`t worry it is not unusual to miss something, because a lot of things need to be done and there is a lot of going on around, as well that distracts you. But during the campaign you get used to it for sure :smartass:

No Ground effect in a helicopter at 100 knots for sure :smartass: You have ground effect in a hover, building up an air cushion below the aircraft. When you start moving two things happen. 1. Your rotor disk is slightly tilted forward, pushing the air in a way backword correlating with the degree of rotor tilt and parts of the downwash don't stay below the rotor disk. If you make a hard emergency takeoff, by applying full collective and as much forward cyclic as possible to accelerate, you lose ground-effect immediate. 2. When accelerating, as airspeed increases more and more of the downwash reflected by the ground is behind the aircraft and no longer between the ground and the rotor disc. As a reference, you may refer to the transverse flow effect. At 0 airspeed the helicopter operates in air disturbed by himself with his rotor, close to the ground this builds up also ground effect. When accelerating and moving forward more and more of the Rotordisc starts operating in clean undisturbed air because the downwash and vorticity stay behind. And because the aircraft stays not longer at that point where the downwash is reflected by the ground there is no way to build-up an air cushion anymore. But at the same time, you losing Ground effect your rotor system gets more and more effective because of the transverse flow and operating in clean air. And luckily This effect combined with the translational lift provides your helicopter with more lift than you loose with the absence of a Ground effect. Its pretty complex but I hope I was able to explain that in an understandable way. In the end, when flying a helicopter it is not important to understand the theoretics behind his behavior. It is important to know about and use its behavior and characteristics in the right way :smilewink:
