  1. Anyone who thinks turning off LTWS will "fix" their radar, is mostly likely just not understanding how to use LTWS (and MSI). I've encountered zero issues with LTWS enabled and I almost exclusively fly a2a in MP and SP.
  2. I'm an idiot, thank you for pointing that out. Am now able to create target points with the TGP.
  3. Yes, for any laser guided weapon you have to keep the target lased until weapon impact. You can always turn away from the target after pickling.
  4. I am also experiencing this. When I try to set TOO coordinates for a JDAM, I establish a pointtrack and press a joystick button bound to Sensor Control Switch Depress. Instead of transferring coordinates, it just toggles the track type, same as Sensor Control Switch Right would do (with FLIR on right DDI). Edit: It's also reproducible when I bind a random keyboard key to Sensor Control Switch Depress. Edit2: this inability to create a target point renders the TGP completely useless for targeting guided weapons.
  5. Been a while since I drove the hornet, but I'm pretty sure there's a way to exit. Maybe something like TMS Left.
  6. Just practice (a lot) more. Everyone has difficulty spotting/tracking targets at first, but eventually you'll get used to it and find it quite easy to visually track bandits in a dog fight.
  7. Well, once you've trimmed on-speed, VV and E-bracket move together as one, so yes e-bracket does move when you adjust throttle. But I've edited my comment for clarity.
  8. You're not supposed to use throttle to put the VV in the E bracket. You center the VV in the E bracket by trimming, and once trimmed the VV will stay in the E bracket on its own. You then use throttle to move the VV+E bracket up and down.
  9. Are you aware that you are able to manually trim the aircraft in 4 directions, typically through a 4-way hat on your joystick? Just want to make sure we're all on the same page regarding "trim".
  10. Yes, DCS handles this correctly. When interrogating on the SA page, you can only interrogate tracks with the top-half of the HAFU showing, meaning tracks that are detected by your own radar.
  11. You weren't being jammed, and no you can't jam others. Radar jamming has not yet been implemented in any way for the F-18 module, that will come later in Early Access. As others have been saying, you probably lost lock because your bandit turned 90 degrees to the left or the right and notched your radar. If you don't know what that means, this video is for you:
  12. Are you appropriately adjusting your radar's vertical scan zone? And how many vertical bars do you have set? If you're scanning the correct altitudes you shouldn't have any issues picking up 29s in the scenario you describe, even with the default PRF setting.
  13. Actually, low rotor rpm is the main cause of rotor intersection when flying at high speed. The faster the blades spin, the more centrifugal force there is to keep them from flapping up and down. So, keep your collective low to maintain a high RPM, and collisions should not occur, even when maneuvering at beyond Vne. Heading AP isn't really the culprit.
  14. I took the Ka-50 out for a spin in multiplayer recently, first time I'd flown it in months. Bagged an enemy UH-1 with Vikhrs on my first sortie. Ka-50 wins :D
  15. Also MQ-9: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1859331&postcount=404
  16. Sorry, you're going nuts, it's always been that way. :)
  17. Well, as stated earlier, it's only that way in Hideout because that's what the mission designer intended. The SEAD flights in GOW actually engage with their HARMs.
  18. That's definitely not how it works in the Georgian Oil War campaign, unless it's changed recently. In which missions have you seen this?
  19. You can always tell them to push right away, then go in after they've swept the area.
  20. Have you actually tried it, or are you just calling it lame based on your assumption of how it works? It's hardly a strategic sim, you just tell the friendly flights when you want them to push from their IP's, and they do the rest, competently finding and prosecuting targets on their own.
  21. Yes, you need to task them via the F10 radio menu.
  22. Also, if you're editing the mission to disable the SAMs...why not just delete them in the mission editor?
  23. Might be worthwhile to post a track showing how/why the friendly SEAD flights fail to take out the SAMs. Personally I don't think I've seen that happen in the stock campaign missions.
  24. Bill Clinton understands flight simulators
  25. Personally I've never had to edit the SEAD flights, they've always managed to do the job with their default setup. Probably haven't played as much of the campaign as others though, since I mostly fly multiplayer, so your mileage may vary.
