  1. Resurrecting this thread - what is the comm field for? Is that the frequency that will communicate with this aircraft? I have the P-51D module. Would I be correct that setting this value the same across all aircraft of one side, then setting a radio channel to this value, would allow anyone on that channel to communicate with each other?
  2. Thanks for confirming my thinking on this. Selecting both gyro and fixed sight, with the fixed sight ring switched off, seems to be the best solution, logically speaking.
  3. Thanks, guys. Pretty new to DCS and flight Sims in general, but the future (and the past) looks very bright. See you in the skies!
  4. Good news that they are coming! Would it be safe to assume that Axis will get a bomber or two, as well?
  5. Great! Thanks for the reply. I thought I had seen something saying they were, but I couldn't find it and couldn't remember if it was official or not.
  6. Hello all, I have a couple questions about content for Normandy that I can't seem to find a definitive answer on: 1) Will the map include a set of appropriate ground units? 2) Will the map include other AI only aircraft, like transports and bombers? 3) Are there plans to one day include appropriate naval units? I am new to DCS, having only gotten my flight gear over the past month. I am loving the P-51D, and the connection to it through the incredible true-to-life detail, the amazing flight model, the Flight Manual... everything is absolutely top-notch. I picked up IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad last week, and I'm hoping that DCS will one day rival it (read: beat it mercilessly) by including items one and two items above. They will do wonders for immersion and realistic mission design. Item three would be a nice feature also. This game (ahem... Sorry... Sim) is really going to get in my wallet once the Normandy map is released. I'm very OK with that :D
  7. The level of involvement with the community of the ED team and statements like this from a developer make me glad that I got started in DCS this month. Well, that and the incredible attention to detail and the super-accurate modeling, and the real connection to the aircraft it gives you. Keep up the amazing work, everyone! Hopefully I'll have tamed the P-51D on takeoff and landing a bit better by the time Normandy releases! :pilotfly:
  8. Bombers are definitely needed. Pilot-able preferably, but I would settle for AI only in the short-term to get them involved sooner. The connection to the plane and appreciation of the details is vastly superior in DCS than in anything else I have played. The Bombers, along with the period-appropriate map, structures, and ground units, would make DCS the absolute top on all marks, in my opinion.
