  1. My Virpil products arrived today!! Ordered after the preorder ended on the 28th of March. That was fast!!!!!!!!!! SCHOOL
  2. More progress on the throttle. Finished wiring up the switches in the throttle handles and now need to wire up the Leo board. I also connected the pots to the levers and everything is ultra precision with no play. Still more switches and details to add to the rear panel. When all is finished, I will add some weathering to match my cockpit.
  3. Thanks. It is all scratch built. BTW, 10 hours later the CM2 is still available. SCHOOL
  4. Happy to announce I got the Warbrd and T50-CM2 ordered tonight. Inventory is still in stock 32 minutes after the restock. Things are starting to settle down. I will finally have a worthy stick for my pit. Throttle is being scratch built from steel. Still need to decide on grip and base buttons. SCHOOL
  5. Winwig, Coming from you, that means a lot.....Buttons and switches coming soon. Thanks, SCHOOL
  6. I appreciate you guys working with us. Unfortunately, bank transfer is $100 so I will wait.. SCHOOL
  7. You can also go by plastic supply shops or prototyping CNC shops for scrap. They throw a ton of this away... SCHOOL
  8. McMaster-Carr has some lighter densities. You can also use MDF board from Home Depot. My entire pit is constructed from it. Styrene or plexiglass can also be used to make up the box section. SCHOOL
  9. Well, I got tired of waiting on those "V..." manufacturers and decided to build my own throttle. This one is built like a tank! Loosely based on an F15 with added volume on the left throttle for additional switches. Mechanism is all welded and machined steel, levers are composite and the base is from Rennshape and aluminum. Still deciding on switch and rotary knob layout for the base and levers. I have a Leo Bodnar board on its way and plan to add the custom rudder pedals and harrier vectoring lever to the single board. Should simplify my USB device management. Paint and weathering will be matched to my pit. SCHOOL
  10. I too have been trying to get one for over a year. Had one in the cart and lost it during checkout. Would have been fine with the gen 1 grip. Wonder if they have any in the back. I got so tired of waiting for the throttle so I started building my own. All machined steel and aluminum. LOL School
  11. Stop building? Not in my blood. This cockpit was designed for eventual VR. All switches and buttons have a different feel to them. I can find all of them with my eyes closed. It will be perfect when the resolution is good enough for me. BTW, I run a VR department at work.... SCHOOL
  12. Will do on the cockpit thread... Is there a downscaling issue on 4k TV's going to 1080? Thanks... SCHOOL
  13. That's what I was thinking. 1080 is all I would need for now.
  14. Hey guys. I wanted to get everyone’s opinion regarding using a TV as a monitor. I am currently running a 1080p 27” monitor but wanted to get something a bit bigger for my cockpit. I’m thinking about 36”-42” as that is all my space will allow. Currently running a GTX 970 I5 and am actually happy with the performance and graphics at 1080. Long term, I am looking at VR but am not ready to pull the trigger on the upgrades. Would a non 4k TV be ok for this specific application or do I go 4K? Appreciate the help on what to choose or even specific models. SCHOOL A.K.A. “SKEETER”
  15. Thanks. I do have an ejection seat in the works. It will have the notched front so I may be able to dimension the cushion to limit travel. If there is anyone out there with an extension, please post a pic or info... School
  16. Hello, I am currently researching a stick to put in my pit. I was originally hoping to do a full extension but read that the Warbrd is not designed for extensions. I am also noticing that the VIRPIL stick is much longer than my CH so maybe the added length is enough. The website states this: Using Extensions with the VPC WarBRD Base While it is possible to use extensions on the VPC WarBRD base, it is primarily designed for non-extended use. Due to the large deflection angle it is possible that you may encounter clearance issues between the grip and the VPC Desk Mount. During certain maneuvers it could be possible to damage your grip by hitting the desk mount. The included cams and springs are also tailored for non-extended setups. Using any extensions on the VPC WarBRD is at the user's responsibility. Any damages caused to VPC devices (grips) by using an extension on the VPC WarBRD base will not be covered under warranty. There is no concern to the VPC WarBRD itself when using extensions. I am reading that the issue is overtravel damage to the stick. Not damage to the base or springs. Has anyone attempted an extension? Large or small? Thanks, SCHOOL
  17. Nice work. Here is my pit for reference. It started simple and keeps growing and growing in complexity. Ejection seat is now in the works but still waiting for the VKB before I finalize the design Fun hobby. SCHOOL
  18. Tactile switches are much more immersive. Even if just on a desk. I do keep the keyboard close by to cover buttons I've missed. Also, still need to type in chat. SCHOOL
  19. So I went ahead with the 2.5 install and crashed out about 90%. It said I had plenty of space but now my sdd is maxed out and now, I am still running 1.58..... My question is what to do now. Do I wait for the next update or try to delete 2.0 now to gain more space? I am running a 256gb sdd and DCS is the only game installed. Seems there is some cleaning up to do. HEEELLLPP!!! SCHOOL
  20. I have the MFD's and they are working great in the harier. They were already configured also. Haven't tried to adjust anything yet.
  21. SCHOOL

    Smoke?

    me too
  22. In the command prompt trying to switch between stable and open beta. Can someone tell me exactly what to type after..... C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin> Thanks... School
  23. Great question.......I spent some time testing the Viggen and found most roads on Caucasus map were good with the exception of the small bridges. Nevada was similar on flat terrain. Landing on mountains tends to have clipping issues for me...(crashing or getting stuck) Can't wait to hear the results... School
  24. Another interesting point is we are at $69 for a new jet aircraft. Wonder if the more complex 18 and 14 will be higher.......Getting up there for those on limited budgets..... School
  25. Posted this earlier but I am finished with the lever and the interface. Top detail part with graduation marks is currently being 3d printed to look closer to the actual harrier part.... Sorry it's blurry, taken from video...
