Alright, so out of the 65 AV suites used on virustotal, Kapersky labs was the only 1 that detected this signature. I think this is indeed very likely a False positive. Here is the hash info for my copy of the executable that returned these results on virustotal. MD5 f6af386dac8d902f7675f24c49f98d6b SHA-1 2bccdf2a3171ddd9a5675bd890d822e2a74d99cd SHA-256 843a14cb3bee26dd0f381ec41d4cf812ea4caedbafd30bd3899fcf2ddc0caeaf Vhash 0970a6656d15151d105d11z5021a6c00ff8z14za130601cd03001f354za06 Authentihash b973c7cc258007ef3ded0b8c061f7e5a302eaaca7b2288b44c69d1f449986779 Imphash 0845cd1765e427c9f512e349fb347490 SSDEEP 1572864:gDM37x6tj91VZ2ZEZlLqEytCEydtODC6qLiA3L85L13EBSZXpV1SaxQdaIXZB:r37x2T6rpDypJQnzRUaW File type Win32 EXE Magic PE32 executable for MS Windows (GUI) Intel 80386 32-bit File size 86.43 MB (90632704 bytes) https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/843a14cb3bee26dd0f381ec41d4cf812ea4caedbafd30bd3899fcf2ddc0caeaf/detection Snacko, you can use this site for free in the future to bounce your local scan results off of all the other scanners. Just copy/paste the hash or upload the file. Since I brought it up in my previous post, I emailed Kapersky the above results, and hopefully they'll revise their database.

This post is not helping anybody FoxTwo I 2nd Snacko's Zloader hit using Kapersky online public submission. I submitted SIMAPPPRO.exe to their team for reanalysis. I do NOT have a premium account or subscription with Kapersky so I can do no more besides report back if/when they email me. Snacko, if you or anybody else reading this has a subscription or premium account or threat portal, whatever they call it. I think that this would be the time to use it. WinWing. Please be advised. Kaspersky Labs, one of the top multinational cyber threat research companies is claiming that your software has a malware payload. You need to contact them directly and sort this out. Hopefully your software team is just incompetent. https://opentip.kaspersky.com/843A14CB3BEE26DD0F381EC41D4CF812EA4CAEDBAFD30BD3899FCF2DDC0CAEAF/ https://opentip.kaspersky.com/?_ga=2.143810677.1383740513.1599167932-26208872.1599167932

Anyone play DCS on in 2k on a 34"?
Boogiesg replied to JanK's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I recently got an LG 34WN750-B after deliberating a long time about ultrawide vs 4K TV.... and I no longer feel the need to "zoom" the view on A-10 gun runs or carrier landings. I'm trackir-zooming (leaning into monitor) less as well. IPS panel looks so much better than my other monitor which is a 27" gsync TN panel. I love it. -
I had found some high resolution 3D scans of the throttle grips a while back. I have a solidworks project that needs another 3 or 4 hours of work put into it for converting the point data into an actual solid model but that wouldn't have any of the internal work done so that you could actually put controls in it. THe real issue is that I have an 11 month old and here I am on Sunday morning wanting to crash the f14 into the deck a few times and answering this thread post while DCS updates and I have to stop before I can even get started. If you can open Solidworks files, I'll let you take over because I have no experience turning a solid 3D object into something that can be printed and then screwed together. I'm great with cams and engine parts in solidworks, but 3D printable enclosures... no experience.

Possibly half "fried" Warthog throttles?
Boogiesg replied to Boogiesg's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
A few years ago, I would have stayed late at work and hooked up a logic analyzer or something and stayed up late messing around with it, but my time is a lot more precious nowadays and I'd rather be flying the F-18. If that doesn't fix it I'll just order a new one and put this one up for auction as a parts donor. -

I agree. So I disconnected the main board and the right grip. I also removed the 2 hall sensor boards and rang out the cables. I'm not able to find any opens or shorts on the cables. I didn't realize before digging into this how much I2C there was and the hall sensors look to be setup as SPI. There is a LOT of solder trash on the board that I can only see with magnification. Perhaps some of that is shorting out a clock or something. I'll clean it up with some ethanol best I can and maybe I'll get lucky. -

That's what I thought, but disconnecting the cables coming from the grips doesn't bring back the Z or RZ axis. There are voltages present on the cables going to the Hall sensors. Disconnecting the cable from inside the right grip also makes buttons 1-12 go high. -

I've got a pretty serious problem with my warthog dual throttles, and I'm curious if anybody has had a similar experience. I cannot think of anything that might be a root cause. No power surges. I leave the throttles plugged into the PC. Searching on the web turns up stories from folks that say the device isn't recognized at all or got bricked somehow by firmware. Symptoms: Z and RZ are both dead. Slider axis functions normally. POV dead. Slew Control functions but Target Device Analyzer and the windows game controller test dialog both indicate that buttons 1 through 12 are being actuated when the Slew control push button is depressed. So basically, the only thing that works on the right grip is the slew control axes but the pinky toggle and button on the left grip work fine. Neither of the IDLE/OFF buttons work either. All of the panel switches and lights function fine. Windows/Target recognize the device and I even tried it on another computer. I've gone through all the easy stuff like unplugging it and reinstalling it. So I opened it up. The only thing electrical that I can find to be common to all those functions is the microcontroller itself. I'm kind of left scratching my head about it. The throttles worked fine for... I don't even know how many years. About 1000 hours in the A-10c. I'd like to hear if anyone else has had a similar experience or suggestions. Best regards, John -
This thing is kind of an interesting oddity what with having guns and missiles. The optical mode can be used during the day to track the angle/elevation to target without giving itself away but that isn't enough or always the case. You still need to know the range to target, the target's vector and the missiles location. All of this stuff is handled by the radar. It maintains the track while slaving the optics to the radar. What it's really doing is keeping the target centered in the hotshot antenna. The fact that the optics stay pointed at the target during the whole engangement is really just a consequence of that. Elevation and range can be coarsely handled by the hot shot radar which can do some whiz bang thigns like change frequency every time it send a pulse. These pulses aren't just bouncing off the plane by the way, there are multiple channels so it can track the missile with pulse modulated commands that feed it course corrections. some of this rf bounces off the missile and gets received by the hot shot to update the track, hence command guidance.

It depends. If the plane is heavy, say 45000lbs or more, then you have to use max power. I've see them launch with and without it many times. Try adding some external stores and see if it changes. FYI, the natops manual covers this stuff in chapter 8. Lot of factors to take into consideration.

I think you might be a little confused about the A and B designations and what they imply... which is Ok because this stuff took the developers thousands of man hours to dig up I'm quite sure. The B in F-14B doesn't stand for bombs, or LANTIRN. I won't go thru a grocery list because it's been 20 years for me but the main difference between the original F14A and the B was that the F14B had more powerful GE-F110 engines, while le the F14A had the TF30, but then they started putting the F110 into the A after they canceled the B program... There were a lot more A models than B models. If you are going to build a flagship DCS module on the F14, then you gotta have both engines. A lot of the avionics in the B model are the same as the A model so it's not 2 completely different planes tho they probably feel like they are when you fly them. I think they are just different enough.

That is hawt. I would much rather use a pit like that and a big screen with invisible cockpit or something than an oculus. Seriously, in 2 months with all those controls? A 3D collimated display should be no problem for ya.

I remember seeing some of the planes from the saints squadron when I was stationed at NAS North Island. I was riding in a friend's car and exclaimed, Mig-28's Mav, no one's been this close before!

Excellent work!
Boogiesg replied to TordinVarglund's topic in A-10C Operation Piercing Fury Campaign
I just finished this one last week, and I have to chime in my praise as well. This is hands down the best combat flight sim campaign I've ever played. The voiceover work raises the bar. Bravo.
