  1. I haven't found this either. I think you have the option of fully open, or automatically managed in the IX. There's no manual radiator controls to adjust specific aperture. Probably this was to prevent over-confident pilots blowing engines....
  2. I think, even in the conditions they were in, if the cockpit glass had been as dirty as it is in this representation, the ground crew would have been torn a new one by the pilot... . This was their lives at stake. Being able to see the enemy first was paramount to survival in many situations. I don't mind the various scratches etc, but it's like someone smeared oil or vaseline over parts of the glass in some areas. No halfway intelligent pilot would have taken off before it was cleared.
  3. 401 liveries please and thank you!
  4. If anyone is unsure about the dancing on the pedals thing, I made a video with the pedals in view of one of my landings to show what is meant. The degree of dance can vary I suppose based on your curves. I'm using 30 on the curves of all controls with a deadzone of 3. Once I start to lose rudder authority, I start adding brake, which you can see in the vid. Wish my take-off had been better. I accidentally had my stick pulled back slightly, so I lifted off too early before I got the tail up (and that's AFTER two notches nose down which I add at the beginning of the video - this Spitfire wants to be in the air no matter what). Check out Chief Instructor's essays on all of that. They're superb!
  5. I swear you guys, if we miss Dec 16 for this.... ;P Kidding. I'm glad to see a genuine and dedicated attempt to get this RIGHT, by everyone. Can't wait to fly her. It's going to be a Spitfire Christmas.
  6. I wouldn't say resolved. Mitigated it is more accurate. The starvation of the engine still would occur under sustained negative G, it just wasn't as immediate. Bendix Stromberg in the LF Mk IX though as has been said (referenced in the startup video even), so should be fine.
  7. Yikes. Hope I didn't open a can of worms on this one. I'm just thrilled we've got the IX to look forward to in December, clipped wing or not. Also, very nice to see 401 Squadron get a mention in the product info!
  8. Will the clipped wing version have aerodynamic differences to the normal wing version or is it just going to be a cosmetic preference difference?
  9. Ah understood. Found 'em. Thanks so much!
  10. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here. My .lua files look completely different than the ones here. The code appears like this: ["d3004pnilunilcd1vd1vpnilvunil"] = { ["added"] = { [1] = { ["key"] = "JOY_BTN20", }, }, ["name"] = "Engine Master Switch - ON", }, Has the lua format changed since this guide was written?
