  1. Is there a way to insert a patch not on drop menu when you start a new pilot?
  2. Your Awesome !!!!! Thanks!!!
  3. I want to dive into the virtual world of flying, I want a VR headset, my, problem is that I would have to drive a couple of hours to try one (up to 4 in LA traffic). Any of you know which set would fit someone with a rather large dome? I wear size 8 hats,,,
  4. SOF was/is mostly there as back up for the bold face, and as former T-38, F-4D and F-16a crew chief, think I still remember T-38 emergency engine shut down procedures,,, 9 years maintenance 11 ATC,,, One of many IFE’s I worked ( In Flight Emergencies ) pilot checked in and said he had a problem, he would get back with me that he was was calling the SOF, after 20-30 seconds, he comes back and said “I guess I have an emergency, will take straight in full stop”, as calm as one would order a burger at drive thru,,,, can’t remember the emergency, think generator out,,,
  5. There is a S.O.F (Supervisor of Flying) in the control tower, he/she is usually a senior pilot. The SOF monitors the weather reports and makes the call as to the flying. As it was already stated, in places like Kunsan AB (I was stationed there for 1 year as an Air Traffic Controller) the weather can changed dramatically in a matter of minutes, the SOF is aware of the qualifications of the pilots who are flying and will make the decision to have them continue to fly/taxi, RTB or even divert. I don't know about Luke, but I am sure they also have a SOF but I don't know what their responsibilities are besides the usual like reading the BOLD FACE items to a pilot who is having an emergency.
  6. I currently have a Ch Pro throttle, fightstick and rudders,,,,,,,,, they work rather well with the F-5, F-86 and P-51 Modules,,,,,,,,,,,, With the F-18 and A-10 not as much,,,,,,,,, would a warthog throttle and stick work better with the F-18 and F-16? Thanks!
  7. After following this thread and re-reading most of it, In my humble opinion there three options about this release: A) Buy it B) Don't buy it C) Buy it Later
  8. I even saw it on T-37’s at the old Williams AFB.
  9. Loved strike commander , had just left aircraft maintenance and gone to air traffic control. Spent so many hours on Falcon 4.0 and allied force. Looking forward to this one.
  10. That's nothing, one time after swinging my right leg over to get out of the cockpit and started climbing down, I didn't not pay attention and pulled almost negative .00001 G's, good thing I had my field jacket on which helped out a lot.
  11. Look, forget the F-16, can you send me some tortilla with some jamon serrano, calamares en su tinta and some pinchos morunos and finish off with a pella valenciana :(:(:( Stationed as a crew chief at Torrejon AB Madrid, 612 TFS for three years, went TDY couple of times for a week to Zaragoza for aerial gunnery support. THE BEST assignment in my 20 year USAF career,,,,,,,,,,
  12. Make it three, only time I saw it was on static display once during an open house. What I find incredible is how some people will argue and argue, even if they have never touched an F-16 they will tell things you can only shake your head at. I was told by an “expert” ( did not know I was an F-16 crew chief ) that it carried rocket fuel ( hydrazine ) to give a boost of power when it need it, but they were restricted to only use it during time of war.
  13. So help me out here,,,, I have a CH Pro Fighterstick, throttle and pedals,,,it works great with the P-51 F-86, F-5,,, OK with F-18 and A-10,,, now that the F-16 is in sight I was thinking of getting a thrust-master warthog throttle or maybe the stick too to use with A-10, F18 and now F-16. Am I wasting my money or in good path? Thanks
  14. You are so right it is not even funny,,, couple of years ago an “expert” told my wife and I that the F-16 has rocket fuel (hydrazine) in case of an emergency, he could flip a switch and it would be fed into the engine for extra speed. Was talking to an old friend about our days on the F16 in Spain, remembered when we did the acceptance inspection we took the medallion off the PW engine due to “possible” FOD,,,, my ex “lost” mine.
  15. I sat IN an F-16, flew IN an F-16 (backseat), ran the F-16 engine, ran F-16 system diagnostics. Again, what is YOUR experience on the F-16?
  16. Allow me, I have three years experience as a maintainer (crew chief) we NEVER loaded a F-16 with three Mavericks, even during war time. If you want TRUE simulation, seems you would utilize the system as it was used in the real world and not as an arcade game. You never stated what your REAL WORLD F-16 experience is besides simulations and what you read.
  17. Allow me a couple of minutes on the soapbox: IF you believe a module should not be released until it is completed, DONT BUY IT UNTIL IT IS COMPLETED Also, if you believe the F-16 flew with 3 Mavericks, 3 Mk-82’s under each wing along with an AMRAM and a sidewinder on each wing tip DEVELOP YOUR OWN MODULE Like many others, I am tired of the “experts” coming here and make an attempt to bestow on us their knowledge of this aircraft which they have only read about never even sat on the aircraft with power on. As for me, my only experience on the F-16 is working on it for three years as a crew chief, 12 stitches on top of my head after standing up straight on the trailing edge of a flaparon and 2 hours in a USAF simulator. Now, where can I pre-pay for my copy?
  18. Am I in the minority? This is my wish list so far: 1) Throttle that works 2) Stick that works 3) Speed brake functionality 4) Gear up and down functionality 5) Compatible with Nevada map 6) Late September early October release. You can take your time adding all the other stuff later, just want to fly this thing.
  19. I work at that base it took off from,, what a PITA today with the freeway closed!
  20. No Kidding! Sort of like the F-5, start up was a cinch since I knew what switch did what and it cut the learning time way down! Now, time to see if I remember how to start the F-16,,,
  21. Hey, I would be willing to pay for a module that only allows me to beat the pattern or take on sighting seeing tour of the Nevada Map. No guns, no missiles no adversaries. Give me all the other stuff later!
  22. Back in 1983, while stationed at Torrejon AB Spain, this was the F-16 I was crew chief on, had 18.5 hours on it when I recovered it. It smelled like a brand new car. We had converted from F4D's to F-16's. Block 15Q, 83-1066, it now sits in the desert in Tucson Arizona.
  23. Ok, here is the problem: Bought a new keyboard, it’s a Microsoft Windows Keyboard, now when I press F12, volume goes up, press F-1 and browser come up,,, anyone know a simple way to keep override the built in mapping when playing? Thank You!
  24. Last time I touched a F-5 (ex-crew chief) was 1982. If memory serves me right. The reason the speed brakes are open after landing is: 1) Inspect the actuators and hydraulic lines for leaks 2) Inspect the wing root area for cracks
  25. Thanks, I was not getting enough airspeed to take off while in the maverick tutorial. Found the problem, somehow the setting for the wheel brakes was backwards!
