  1. Update on why you guys are seeing what you're seeing. The host server has been taken down for the time being. Im in the process of moving the server to an EU host so that its more world wide accessible for DCS. Ill be sure to let everyone know when the server comes back up!
  2. The DCS World Events server has moved to Europe! You heard that right! The Kansas City server is no more. The new DCS World Events server resides in Germany and is run on an 8700K with 64GB or memory and 1TB NVME drives in Raid. This was done to centralize the playing field as it was becoming apparent that teams from the Middle East and Asia were having difficulties with the pings to the United States. Hopefully this change will help everyone have a more balanced and well rounded experience in all DCS World Events events. Also, some of you have already appointed team representatives for SATAL in the Splash One Gaming Discord, but if you have NOT we need you to do so. The Discord link is https://discord.gg/yFKuzhK and will take you straight to the discussion channel. I need appointed Team Representatives to make a post in that channel saying what team your are representing and that you would like to be that teams Team Representative. I will then appoint you a role. The role of a Team Representative is to represent your team to the DCS Community, facilitate and participate in discussions to make the DCS World Events events better in the SATAL Discussion channel, and to participate in ruling disputes and discussions in the SATAL Referee Discord channel. I need every team, if possible to appoint someone as a representative as it is the easiest way we as organizers have to reach out to the teams if needed. If you are NOT able to access Discord, like some of our Chinese teams, please send me a message stating as such here on the ED forums with your team name. Please limit these messages to 1 per team. Hopefully everyone is having a wonderful Sunday and Monday. Be on the look out for new Top 5 highlight videos coming on the DCS World Events Youtube channel, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChfyq4FFuYuUcgPRTxBEZXA. The first just dropped today featuring RVE and 51st with more on their way. See you in the skies! o7
  3. Disregard that. We got the new server working! 195.201.110.22
  4. I apologize for the craziness lately, but the new server host is having some issues with Teamspeak and thinking the server is being DDOS. Therefore we will be using the old Teamspeak host today for SATAL. Please us the IP of 69.195.131.50 to connect.
  5. A heads up to everyone. The 64th Aggressor Teamspeak IP has changed and can be seen below. Also, to clarify, since I have been asked this a couple of times in different places. In order to participate in your scheduled match you must be present on the 64th Aggressor Teamspeak. Please try to arrive 15 minutes prior to match start time. This is to organize with league organizers and to get server information for match start. You are fullow allowed to use any method for intersquad communication during matches, however at least one member MUST be preset on the 64th Aggressor Teamspeak in case someone needs to reach you. This is true for any event that is being run by DCS World Events. 64 Aggressor Teamspeak: 195.201.110.22
  6. New version of several parts of the mod pack just went live. New additions include the Unofficial Rough Mets from 104th_Fallen, updated terrain textures from Mustange, FA-18C Sound Mod from WatermanPC, High Definition FA-18C DDI from Rackham, the addition of Ultra Shadows in the DCS options thanks to Clorydric, and an updated FC3 soundscape. All new additions are available manually or from OVGME. Let me know if you have any issues downloading. I seem to always mess something up server side that breaks the downloads :).
  7. Yes. If it doesn't for some reason at any point please let me know with the file name and path that caused it to fail.
  8. Parts of that mod got pulled because it wasn't passing IC. If you don't mind downloading the mod and testing the IC Id be happy to readd it if it passes. Strange. I thought I was using his latest version. Ill add the newest version in. Expect this issue to be fixed in the next version.
  9. So happy that you found enjoyment in SATAL. This event and other events that we run are all about the community and making this sim we all love as good as we can get it. Looking forward to seeing you guys in the competition next year! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. This community is one of the best at helping newcomers, in this case to competitive DCS, get acclimated and feel at home.
  10. Im going to post here what I posted on Discord. I have created a new system that I think will be beneficial to everyone here. You must be on Discord to use it however. A link to the Discord, if you are not already on S1G or want a direct link to the new Challenge channel, can be found here, https://discord.gg/Cj8WPWB. What I posted is below... Welcome to Challenge! Challenge is the new home for scheduling friendlies and trainings with other squadrons/groups from anywhere in DCS. You do NOT need to be a competitive squadron or group to use Challenge. Challenge is open to anyone. Its primary goal is to bring all the events, friendly matches, and trainings that squads and groups directly schedule with others under one roof in order to promote more interaction of this kind in a wider spread and more meaningful manner. We all love to fly DCS in the high stakes environments that matches and organized events provide and we all love organized trainings such as friendly squad matches to increase our own skills and readiness for the real thing in competitions such as SATAL. However, those organized events are few and far between. My hope, with the creation of Challenge, is that as squadrons and groups see others scheduling events, friendlies, and trainings with outside squadrons and groups they will also come into participate and schedule things themselves even if it is not something they have done before and further growing the pool. This ongoing scheduling and participation of squadrons and groups will not only lead to more opportunities for virtual pilots to participate in organized combat, but also to the overall improvement of the virtual aviators skill set. My goal with DCS World Events has always been the betterment of the DCS community as a whole and I believe that a simple platform such as Challenge gives participants another tool in their toolbox to continue on the path of becoming that ace in the skies. If you would like to challenge another squadron to a friendly or training, ask generally if any squadron has available time for friendly or training, or even post an event that you think people would like to participate in, please follow the examples and use the templates below. Squadron Name: 64th Aggressors Contact Person: <64>Moltar Squadron to Challenge: 104th Phoenix @104th_Fallen Event Type: SATAL Diamond Friendly Date and Time Range: 6/28/2019 @ 20z Squadron Name: 64th Aggressors Contact Person: <64>Moltar Squadron to Challenge: Any Event Type: SATAL Gold/Diamond Friendly Date and Time Range: 6/29/2019 @ 19z People can then reach out to the original poster via PM in order to finalize an event/friendly/training. For example, in the first template, Fallen would contact me after seeing the post via PM to finish scheduling the match. Once done I would add the checkmark reaction to signal the that sortie is ready to go. For the second example any squad or group would be allowed to contact me via PM and organize with me specifics to get that sortie off the ground. Again, once specifics were worked out I would add the green checkmark to signal the all clear. It is very important that people utilize the notification system in Discord to notify challenged squads or groups. It is also very important that people, especially squad and team leads check here often in order to see if they have been challenged themselves or if there is an open opportunity for them to participate. If a friendly/training is accepted by both parties, please mark it with a reaction checkmark. An example of the proper reaction can be seen on this post. This will allow me to add the Challenge calendar that can be seen here, https://splashonegaming.com/challenge/ . The calendar is there to provide people with a visual representation of what is going on and what has been scheduled thus far. In order to make this work like I know that it can it is imperative that we as competitors stay organized. I believe that using a system like this will drastically increase the number of sorties we all are able to participate in. See you all in the air!
  11. Tomorrows matches will be flown on Open Beta version DCS 2.5.5.32533. It seems the patch that was released today has fixed the Hornet INS issues. It also gives the Hornet MSI. Therefore I see no reason to withhold the ability of Hornets to use a new feature where at the same time the INS issue is corrected. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3957068&postcount=61
  12. I am happy to inform everyone that we had a meeting with the 51st and we have come to an agreement regarding DCS World Events and SATAL. I apologize to the community for having put everyone through this divorce between squadrons, but I am happy that we have come to agreements that allow both squadrons to continue looking forward and grow together with the community. I am very grateful that they are allowing DCS World Events to henceforth run SATAL. 51st provided a fantastic foundation to a great event that has allowed it to grow into what it is now. I am ecstatic to have them continue that relationship and support into the future with them in an advisory role on the DCS World Events committee to provide crucial advice and guidance from their long and accomplished experience as event organizers in DCS. And in closing, here's to looking forward of what is to come. I hope DCS World Events and SATAL continue to grow and with the support of 51st I see no reason for it not too. It has been wonderful to see this community grow and Im looking forward to seeing just as much, if not more, growth going forward. Lets keep competitive DCS going and see what we all as a community can accomplish in the future. See you all in the skies soon.
  13. This weekends matches will be flown on Stable branch. This will be the case regardless of an update later in the week in order to allow people with poor internet connections to get up to date.
  14. It takes a bit. I think mine was a couple weeks and most of it was with no response from the carrier or customs.
  15. Replied to Mad Max in PM.
  16. From here on out we will be utilizing a community decision making process committee or referee system where the community or teams using this committee decides the outcomes of refereeing decisions or rulings. This committee style of refereeing will be used for all future events. This is being put in place so that unbiased and community decisions can be made and that teams having rulings passed on them do not feel targeted or unfairly judged. Each person that is a SATAL Representative will be given a single vote per issue to use to vote on possible outcomes for issues that are put forward. I will be, for now, the sole party putting issues forward. If a team has an issue that issue needs to come to me to be put forward to the committee. The day an issue is put forward I will schedule a meeting for any SATAL Team Representative can attend. Attendance is not mandatory, but it will allow for each member to discuss their stance on the issue and voice their position and opinions to others. The discussion at this meeting will be done in an organized fashion and no negativity or poor attitudes will be tolerated. We are adults and we should behave as such. All meetings will be held the day of, in most cases Saturday, at 2000z. We will be using reactions in order to cast these votes. For everyone that has the SATAL Team Representative role you will notice a new channel called satal-referee where these decisions will be made. An example of reaction use can be seen on the next post attached to a example issue and vote. Numbers will be used to represent each possible selection. For instance if you react with the reaction of the number '1' you will be casting your vote for the choice associated with '1'. If you react with a 2 you would be voting for the '2' choice and so on. Each member is only allowed a single vote. In the event of a tie and only in the event of a tie, my vote will be worth 2 in order to mitigate stalls. Because this is a hobby and not something any of us do professionally, attendance at the meeting or voting on each issue is not required. If you do wish to cast a vote you have 24 hours to do so from the time the issue post is made in the satal-referee channel. If you do NOT vote it will simply be seen as you being impartial and being OK with any outcome. Each member is allowed to vote on each issue no matter if their team/squadron is in question or not. Trying to bribe or sway others using under handed methods will not be tolerated and will be grounds for immediate removal from the committee and possibly the event. If you have any questions please let me know. I am working hard to make SATAL and other DCS World Events better and have already added a couple people to the DCS World Events team. If you yourself think you would make a good fit on the DCS World Events team or simply have a suggestion please don't hesitate to send me a message. Sorry 104th and 64th Aggressors, but you're my guinea pigs. This example means nothing and anyone, including non-SATAL Team Reps can vote on it. This will not be the case for future issues.
  17. It’s me. DCS World Events no longer has any association with a squadron.
  18. Hmm... I don’t have any problem hitting the IP or the XML file. Your link looked broken though. Try this one.
  19. This weekends matches are cancelled and will be rescheduled to the end of the season due to the INS bug that currently exists with the Hornet. We have tried several workarounds and I have been in contact with ED to try and get it resolved, but nothing can been done in such a short time. I will post updated schedules for these matches today. Please anticipate that these matches will be flown at the end of the season before the tournament. I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We were hoping that this OB update wold correct the INS issue with the Hornet, but it has not. Also, due to the massive size of the update that would be required to revert to standard that is also not a possibility. See you guys next weekend, June 22!
  20. Just SATAL right now.
  21. Still need people to send me a message on the Splash One Gaming Discord. It is very important that you send me a message on this Discord so that I can add a role to your user. This makes it very easy for me to get in contact with you should we need to reach out to teams or participants. https://discord.gg/yFKuzhK
  22. First off there have been, I believe, 2 forfeits. We do NOT award full points for a forfeit much like how in football 3 goals are typically awarded for the winning side. I am trying to make this as fair as possible. Its not perfect and we are learning as we go. We realize we miss rules and we add them. Second, I need all team representatives to post a message on the S1G Discord so that I can add a role to your user. This will allow for quick and easy contact for event issues and future content. https://discord.gg/yFKuzhK
  23. In football your goals for and against are you K/D and that is why this is being treated as such.
  24. Everyone, please stop speculating and saying that I can't handle it. That is ridiculous. SATAL has always been run by essentially one guy, me. To say things are different now is just ridiculous. The reason there was no stream this weekend was because I was out of town at FSE which I stated on the weekend before stream. Streams will resume this up coming weekend as normal. Furthermore, like I said in my letter, I get nothing from this. You guys pay nothing to compete. You are not required to pay anything to watch the streams. Participants do not contribute to prizing. SATAL is done for the community and mostly by one guy for free. If I am a week behind on the website it is not the end of the world. This is a hobby and I swear some of you think its the Olympics. I know prizes are on the line and people take it seriously, including myself, but sometimes its OK to take a step back and enjoy the ride. Have fun instead of being constantly caught up in drama. I know I have caused some drama lately so I can't say I'm innocent, but lets try and get back to having fun with SATAL and competitive DCS. This is supposed to be fun. Lets not turn it into work. We have the results and they will get posted. We will get there. I am getting things organized for hopefully more people to come on board, but that takes time. People have a tendency to want to help, come on board, realize what a massive amount of work it is, and then bail leaving me with more work cleaning up the void they left. It takes many many hours to run SATAL and do it well and most people, frankly, just don't want to do that. That is fine, but please try not to complain about it and recommend me reaching out for help. I do that all the time and I get ghosted. I love creating this content and love interacting the community so lets keep this going and just have a good time. However, I would like to thank the people that have contributed time to making SATAL happen. People helping does help immensely and I have gotten many people reaching out on Discord saying that can help which is fantastic! We will be back on track this week. Thank you for your patience and bearing with me. Stay tuned.
