Issue is still present after the update today.
-
I was running your mod for PG textures and removed it. Still same issue. Its something with the graphics engine it seems. I have an open ticket with ED so hopefully we can figure it out. Seems to have started last patch or maybe the one before it.
-
Just tested again and I confirm that this is happening in every pit in every module no matter if cockpit mods are used or not. I have tried clearing shaders and FXO and no change.
-
Here is a video of the issue too that should help people see it. Watch especially when I look out the right side of my pit. You can see that the bottom half of the video has lighter water than the top and it moves with my head.
-
Trying to figure out what is causing this issue. I know I am not the only one that is having it as I have talk to a couple of the other guys I fly with and they are experiencing the same thing. I started to notice it after the last update. Example Screenshot It seems like its cutting my monitor in half and changing the brightness. I can also see, in other lighting, instead of it only being half my monitor will be broken in to 4 zones of different color. This only happen on PG over water and only happens in DCS. I have recalibrated my monitor, turned my GPU OC off, benchmarked my GPU, everything. It is NOT my PC or monitor. It is something to do with PG and DCS and I, for the life of my, cannot figure out what is causing it. Any ideas?

SATAL 2018 (October 27th) - Finals, Heatblur Interview, and GIVEAWAYS
M0ltar replied to M0ltar's topic in Community News
Today is the day! Its FINALS day for SATAL! The last stream of the year. We start here in 30 min with the 3rd place match between 104th and inSKY. The Finals will follow at 1800z between 51st Bisons and SF. Also, don't forget that Heatblur will be here after the finals match to talk about the Tomcat and giveaway a ton of swag including a T16000M hotas, Warthog throttle detents, Tomcat modules, Su33 and KA50 modules, Tacview Pro licenses, and Sky Knights Steam keys. Going to be an awesome time! See you in 30! -
Thank you for all the input! Alot of those sounds were orphaned sounds that I had forgotten about, so thank you for highlighting them. As for the Mig21... Leatherneck has that thing butchered in the sound department. For whatever reason it is using the Su25 sounds instead of the Mig21 sounds that are in the DCS directory. I guess when I figured this out I removed the sounds I had, but forgot to remove the folders. While Jafa's sounds are awesome, they overlap with the jet sounds which is why they are not included. I wanted to intiially, but due to conflicts with other modules it just didn't work. Do you have a link to the Spitfire's gun mod?

Squadron Air to Air League 2018 - Runners-Up, Finals, Heatblur Interview and Giveaways October 27th @ 1500z and 1800z The time has come when SATAL must wrap for this season. The Finals are upon us and the culmination of a fantastic year is coming quickly. Since this is going to be the last stream of the season it goes with out saying that we need to go out with a bang. To make that happen we have Heatblur joining us to co-commentate, provide an interview about the upcoming Tomcat, and giveaway a Tomcat module for DCS World to a lucky viewer. To go along with the Heatblur festivities, we also have several other giveaways to send out that include Sky Knights game keys, Thrustmaster Warthog push-through detents, a DCS World Su-33 and KA-50 module, and a Thrustmaster T16000M Hotas. The Stream will be taking place on the DCSWorldEvents Twitch channel. All of this will be taking place during the SATAL Finals stream that will be taking place on October 27th starting with the Runners-up match, 104th vs inSKY, at 1500z and the Finals match, 51st Bisons vs SF, at 1800z. Both of these matches pit some of the, if not THE, best squadrons in DCS World and should be very exciting to watch. Mark your calendars and tell your wife you're single for the weekend. Also, be sure to follow the DCSWorldEvents channel to enable alerts to make sure you don't miss the action. SATAL 2018 Twitch If you are unfamiliar with SATAL you can get all of the needed information, rules, stats, and past schedules from the sites below. If you have never watched a SATAL match before I highly suggest you give this weekend a shot. It is very exciting and some of the best DCS action you will ever see. Every matchup seems to outdue the last in excitement, skill, and immersion. It has been a wild ride and Im already looking forward to next year and the new things to come. SATAL Rules and Information SATAL Schedule and Stats SATAL Past Broadcasts If you are thinking about joining the SATAL 2019 season, make sure you're on the lookout for information and signups that should be coming around the Christmas holiday season. The most exciting proposed change will be the possible inclusion of an amateur league that will provide a more accessible competitive experience for new emerging and/or squadrons. The new league will follow a very similar format to the premiership, but will feature 4v4 instead of the current 6v6 to again make the league more accessible for teams just entering the competitive scene in DCS World. Again, if you are looking to compete in the Premiership or the proposed Amateur league make sure to be on the lookout for news and signups that will be coming in the near future. Also, be on the lookout for a brand new guns event that will be announced shortly after the completion of the SATAL 2018 season. To wrap this up, I never thought SATAL would be this popular or have this much of a following, but it has been quite the experience and I and the rest of the 51st Bisons team are so very happy that we got to experience it all with the DCS World Community. A special thank you to all of our sponsors and contributors! Dart/LotATC for allowing SATAL teams to use licenses for LotATC to give SATAL the best most realistic experience possible. Tacview for its continuous help in helping me improve the quality of the Tacview segment on stream as well as the contributions of licenses to the prize pool and the awesome software that allows us to brief and debrief from flights with ease. Finally, Heatblur for its generous contributions of prizes (500 euros) and modules (12 Tomcat modules), mentorship, and continued commitment to making this possible. Without them this whole event would not be possible. Heatblur has shown their continued commitment to both the event and the community and that is something rarely seen and it has been a real pleasure to be able to work with them. If you were not mentioned in this list do not fret. There are many that helped make this possible and I personally would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to each and everyone of you. I hope that next year we will be able to all come together again to make SATAL even better than before.

Happy to announce that the mod pack now includes ECHO19's FA-18 Hornet Sound Mod that was released today by I_Gamer! New version of the my Moltar's Mod - Sound will be 1.6.0, can be downloaded directly or through OvGME and will include ECHO19's I_Gamer's awesome mod.
-
Is this an issue that you are getting in OVGME itself or when you try to go to the download links on the website?
-
They should be installed in the DCS main folder. However. I would highly suggest you download OVGME to handle mod installs as it will allow you to install and uninstall the mods without overwriting files. A link to it should be in the OP.

Here is the RWR mod that is being used in the pack. I just checked the latest version and I am not getting this issue. How long has it been since you updated my mod pack?
-
All start times are in Zulu time.

You only responded or read part of what I said. I said that you could see airliners that high, but they are much much larger than fighters and are painted white or other high contrast colors that do not try and hide them for camo purposes. I even admit that I can see airliners at 30k feet, but and airliner is very different to a jet fighter.
-
I agree with you completely! Something along the lines of 4-5nm to reliably spot an aircraft sounds completely reasonable. Maybe ED needs to implement something along the lines of sun glint off aircraft or something that makes spotting a bit easier. There are plenty of accounts during Vietnam that that was used to spot Migs. The spotting distances and the dots that were created were a blemish to me in my DCS flying experience. These people saying that you should be able to see a fighter from 10 miles is crazy. That is 65k feet. I get that you can see jet airliners flying at 30-40 feet if you follow their contrails to their position, but they are much much larger than a fighter sized object and are painted in hi contrast colors like white that make them stand out against the sky and you most likely used a contrail to determine their position. Good luck scanning the entire sky and finding them reliably. 65k foot spotting is like saying that you would be able to see a fighter sized object from one side of the English Channel to the other. I really think people forget how far these distances are. This is not me saying that it should be invisible, but that the aircraft would be next to impossible to spot unless you knew exactly where to look and even then it would be so small that it would be very hard to see. On top of that camo is designed to make it even harder to spot. One thing I would like changed however is the pop-in of the contrails. Is it possible to maybe make an options slider that allows us to change how far the contrails are rendered. Contrails, in contrast with actual aircraft are easily visible from very very far away. EDit: NineLine, Ive uploaded some pictures of what I see at 3840x1600. I agree with others that planes are hard to spot and should be addressed and slightly increased. Its really hard to see a full sized F15 at 2km without zooming in. However, I do NOT want this to become something where we can reliably spot from 10nm or greater. That just becomes fake and does not help with immersion. Yes it makes flying and dog fighting easier, but it becomes a handicap. Hopefully these images help you out. Moltar's Spotting Distance Test at 3840x1600 Zoomed and Not Zoomed

Should be fixed. Webserver for the website that I host the files on went down after a Windows update.

Schedule is up on The Merge for the tournament.

DCS World 2.5.x Caucasus Terrain Textures
M0ltar replied to Mustang's topic in Texture/Map Mods for DCS World
Looks like the latest hotfix solves the issue of the modified terrain textures getting blasted by IC even when the setting for pure textures was off. -

Indeed it does. Just kind of a hassle having to restart if you leave a server for any reason. -
DCS World 2.5.x Caucasus Terrain Textures
M0ltar replied to Mustang's topic in Texture/Map Mods for DCS World
While the textures work in the 104th server, when I leave I am getting a red IC shield with it complaining about the caucuses terrain files. I dont get kicked from the server. Only getting the IC error after leaving.
