I am using a GTX1070 (with an Intel I5-4690K (4.5Ghz) - 16GB) in combination with an Oculus Rift CV1 set and I am getting decent framerates if I use the correct settings (lots of info on what the correct settings are on this forum and you will have to do lots of testing as your setup is unique).
I still have no clue whether my CPU or my GPU is the bottleneck in my system but the flight experience is still very good.
So basically if you buy a recent DLC module on Steam (like the Harrier addon now on sale) you will install the Steam version of DCS World to be able to use it?
Since DCS World and addons needs quite some disk space this is not a good thing.
Also it prohibits people to combine DLC bought in the DCS store and on Steam (so no flying in Normandie with the Harrier in my case...).
I absolutely love the DCS series so I hope this oversight can be fixed!
I own two Warthog sets and the oldest set did not want to install the throttle firmware update at all untill I connected it to my old Dell Precision workstation (after my gamerig and my laptop).
Only on the Dell the firmware update procedure could be completed.
So I recommend trying different computers when experiencing problems.
Allmost everywhere I fly I get 90fps, even at treetop height, except near the airfield (tested on the Georgia map in the SU-25).
The buildings look good, just a slight stutter when skimming rooftops.
I like these settings!
Not any noticable difference between the Oculus tool and the ingame pixel setting.
Both allmost solid 90fps except when flying at treetop level over cities.
I do experience jerky movement of the buildings below when at 2.0
Several threads here contain very useful info about experiencing DCS World in VR.
Personally I would not fly without VR as it adds so much to the experience...
But I do realize that VR is still developing and is still rather expensive.
If your computer has a Realtek sound chip you might want to check the Youtube guides below.

You can use the Realtek chip as your primary soundcard and mix the audio through to the Oculus Rift.
I have it setup now but I am still awaiting delivery of the Buttkicker Gamer 2 unit...
Just started to play DCS World in VR on the CV1.
I noticed that the buildings and bridges all look "double" when do fly very low over a town.
I am also still struggling to get the most optimal settings in DCS (the best graphical quality but still smooth flying to keep the immersion 100%).
Can anyone with a similar rig share his/her settings?
