  1. Peanuts - if you have 5,000,000 $ to spend on a plane. ;)
  2. Doctor: -SNIP- EthereaIN:  Look at the bright side: We'll get the first female member on this board. :music_whistling:
  3. Jingle Bombs, Jingle Bombs... :D
  4. Yeah, until all three of them have PMS. :harhar:
  5. Brightness of symbols I assume? Great job with the custom made sheets, IvanK.
  6. Your helo pointing towards the target, at least one VIKHR missle on board, an active laser, a weapons master-switch set to arm.
  7. You mean like the keylist in your gamefolder?
  8. The THAAD-System is intended to kill the target by kinetic energy, so after the the initial stabilization and lockup-phase, it races directly against the target, firing side-boosters immediately before impact for adjustment only. It is highly unlikely the THAAD would enter a corcscrew-pattern before hitting the target, as it is much harder to home in doing so and the kinetic energy is lowered drastically, further limiting effectiveness. I'd much more conclude that this is a system designed to spoil sensors like radar, IR or satellite surveillance, much like a smokescreen from old eras. This also concludes with some reports that occurred numerous times over the US: In the last weeks, the number of reports have increased in Europe as well - just a few days ago, they even had a documentary about this, because a farmer in Germany found his farmland covered with masses of chaff. It was noted, that apparently the military releases them in vast masses over the north-sea and non-residential areas in far northern Europe and the weather blows them back over middle and southern Europe. I think, this is a much more likely conclusion for what was seen here.
  9. LOL - yeah, I wondered about that as well.
  10. Don't know if this has already been posted but I literally ROFL on this one:
  11. In this case, check out the pit-builder-forum. If you mean what you say, there's little alternative. I personally can recommend P.I. Engineering "x-keys" if you are not ready to go that far. They offer fully programmable keyboards in different configurations: http://www.xkeys.com/xkeys.php
  12. Best thing is to calibrate the positioning and angles of the TrackIR sensor while checking the camera-FOV and moving your head around. If you start in the lower area, you have to change positioning accordingly. Most likely it will help if you don't pull the cap too far down on your forehead, so the camera has a better view on the reflectors. For the camera it looks like you are looking up all the time, but that gives you some room for looking down in reality ;)
  13. Why do you need all the buttons? You don't need to know or use the key-combinations for all safety caps. Just use the mouse and there you go. You know, stick and collective have a limited amount of buttons as well ;)
  14. LOL - wish I had a solution for THAT problem ;)
  15. Nice. Yes, the hat is from the single-tracking. I'd definitely cover it with something. In the beginning I had the problem that my TIR lost my head's position when looking down, looking up was nice though. This happens because the field of view extended well above my head, but I the reflection was already faint when looking only a bit down - a real PITA for BlackShark. After bending the reflectors up as a temporary fix, I came up with an alternative: These flexible plastic-tubes are covered with the same reflector of the TrackIR-Clips. I cut them in 2.5cm parts and simply stuck them over the reflectors. Works perfect even on extreme angles. Edit: Check out this site for a UK-distributor. I think these are the same as posted above, just from 3M, not no-name as in the picture I posted. ;)
  16. +1 what EtherealN said. Your airplane is much more dependent on the air than on the ground. E.g. you take off against the wind. With the wind coming at 20kph in your direction makes the over-ground distance needed for take-off much shorter. You need less range to reach the additional airspeed for take-off. Taking off with the wind takes a much longer distance over ground, as your startoff-speed is -20kph IAS. Accordingly the pitot gives you the relevant information for your actual speed, not the speed over ground. Check out this video: The IAS and lift is depending on the density of the air, though. In simple theory, if you fly in 0 windspeeds-conditions at 300kph IAS and then increase your altitude, the thinner air will cause less pressure on the pitot and as such the IAS will continuously decrease. Same is for lift of your aircraft until you reach an altitude where the IAS falls below the minimum velocity and the wings can't produce enough lift in the thin air to get any more altitude.
  17. Just put a strip of non-reflective tape over it. The TrackIR analyzes reflections depending on size. Depending on the angle and other heatsources, it is possible that the original reflectors make a smaller reflection than the clip in the middle, resulting in jittering or your TIR going wild. Just a personal observation: I wouldn't bend the arms with the reflectors. It seems you bent down the two front reflectors to fit your hat, but that can have negative side-effects. Considering the reflectors themselves are rounded around a vertical axis, you have now 3 different reflection-effects, one for each reflector depending on your head-angles. In the worst case, one of your reflectors might reflect at maximum brightness, while at least one might be pointed in such a way that the reflection falls below the minimum size. In combination with the additional reflector in the middle, this might be causing you a lot of troubles.
  18. Exactly. Another effect is that this already more compact air carries more weight, thus increasing lift, which again leaves more energy for the forward thrust. Besides that the more dense air also causes a higher pressure on the pitot tube, increasing IAS.
  19. As posted before, just the buttons around - no monitor.
  20. LOL :crash: Okay, in this case, disregard "always" from my statement ;) If you have further questions feel free to post them here. I can send you some sample-files, but it's to a large extend a matter of personal taste and positioning of the TIR and you in relation to that, to work out a setup that servers you best.
  21. Search button is always your friend. Check out this thread and also the linked thread with a short setup-guide. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=45243&highlight=trackir
