  1. Yurgon is correct. Almost all military aircraft have RWRs that detect radar illuminating the aircraft, like you said. But the A10 has another system that is unique to it: the MWS (Missile Warning System) which detects ALL missile launches. Air-to-Air Missiles, TOWs being fired on the ground, and IR guided MANPADS, and so on. If someone launches a missile, whether or not it's directed at you, your MWS will light up
  2. Hey guys, I tested my webcam and its runs at about 15 FPS. Will this FPS be fine for FaceTrackNoIR?
  3. This isn't related to just the A10C, but do you guys recommend putting DCS on my SSD or HDD?
  4. Can anyone else confirm what JunMcKill has said about replacing the default.ini file with default_trackir.ini to turn your head more than 90 degrees left/right?
  5. And this will work with all DCS Modules? Or do I need to do this for every aircraft?
  6. So I should replace the default.ini file with the default_trackir.ini file so that I can look all the way back?
  7. Big thank you to everyone who has helped me out! :)
  8. Oh ok, when I play those different games, I'll need to switch profiles manually?
  9. It'll show up automatically?
  10. But I don't understand this whole profiles thing...Do I just create a profile with my preferences, run FTNoIR, and then run DCS?
  11. What about the ".ini" setting for FTNoIr? Is it something that needs to be setup?
  12. So how do I go about setting up FTNoIR if I dont need to use the DLL? Do I just install the latest version, set up my preferences, run DCS, and that's it?
  13. Does Opentrack use LEDs? Or your face?
  14. I have another question: The first link tells me to "Download the ED API interface x64 dll package and extract the headtracker folder (with contents) into the game's "bin" directory." This guide was for the A10C. Do I need to extract the headtracker folder into the bin directory of every aircraft I use, like the F15, MiG29, Su-25, and Su-27?
  15. Thanks I'll check it out. Thanks, that really cleared up the confusion that I had.
  16. Hey guys, I'm looking for an alternative to TrackIR, as it's quite expensive. I found FaceTrackNoIR, but I'm not sure how to set it up for DCS. I found two links on how to set up FTNoIR for DCS: A10C but it seems like they both give different instructions: http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php/686800-How-to-Setup-FaceTrackNoIR-for-DCS-A-10C-in-Win7-x64 http://wiki.hoggit.us/view/Configuring_FTNoIR_PointTracker Not sure what to do right now :noexpression: Can I get some help from people using FTNoIR?
  17. Why does gaining altitude save fuel?
  18. What about gears and flaps? Is there a certain altitude?
  19. Two questions: 1. Are the Tunguskas missiles ir guided, radar guided, or radio guided? 2. In the F-15, what's the optimum landing speed? And when should you drop gears and flaps?
  20. During a landing, what's the optimum landing speed? And when should you drop gears and flaps?
  21. I see, thank you very much
  22. What if I used TWS to guide an AIM120 all the way to it's target without letting it go pitbull? Would they get any warning that a missile has been launched?
  23. This is really old, but if I'm in TWS and I fire an AIM-7 at someone, will they even know I fired until impact?
  24. Did you mean 30 (the # after 29) or did you mean 30 thousand? Because in the US, commas are used to separate digits while decimals are used to show partial numbers. In other parts of the world it's the opposite so I was unsure if you meant 30 or 30 thousand.
