  1. Guess it depends on everyone's playstyle. I don't like dumb bombs because of the inaccuracy. I'd rather drop a single GBU on BMP in 1 pass, as opposed to using mark 82s where i may have to make more than one pass using more than one bomb
  2. LOL. Is there any scenario in which you'd take Mk82s in the A-10C? Honestly, the way i see it, Mavs and GBUs should be used for SAMs and AAA, and guns should be used for everything else.
  3. For other aircaft?
  4. What value do these little guys have lol? I don't use them much
  5. Ah I see, thanks Coff, you're on the ED team, does ED plan on making it so that we can at least use hd cockpit or HUD font mods
  6. please reconfirm this works...creating a folder called MODS in Saved Games/DCS will pass my mods thru ICs? edit: are you guys talking about how to bypass the IC update with 1.5.7? so that i can use my terrain and cockpit mods and still pass ICs?
  7. 2x AGM-65D, 4x GBU-12, 2x AIM-9, TGP, ALQ-131, 1x WP Depending on mission, the GBUs can be swapped out for CBUs
  8. That's what I thought it'd be, logically, but I wasn't sure. Thanks for the clear up
  9. I know this may seem like a very stupid question but: Let's say I have two GBU-12s loaded onto my A-10. One of them is on the far right wing, near the edge. The other is on the left wing, but closer to my aircraft near the center. Will these two bombs cancel each other out in terms of weight? Does the position of the bombs on the wings matter? Or does it just matter that they are on different sides of the aircraft?
  10. Personally, when I fly on the 104th, I take 6 mavericks and 4 GBUs because I like to just climb high, rifle/pickle them off on as many high priority targets as possible, and then get low once I'm a bit lighter and the high priority targets are dead. Is this a feasible excuse for taking such a heavy payload?
  11. Unfortunately, I don't have a track IR :( I think the Hog can handle more than two Mavericks, but the reason it doesn't IRL is because the target density out in the real world is low. An A-10 in Afghanistan will probably not see that many targets which require Mavs, as opposed to DCS, where you can engage over 3 AAA sites in one flight. This is why I usually take 6 Mavs, because of the high target density in DCS Regardless, thank you very much for the good advice:thumbup::)
  12. I know the A-10s systems very well, however, I wouldn't say I'm "good" in the Hog. I'm....ehh, I'm okay at it. I use a Logitech 3D Pro, no TrackIR. My question is: Do you guys think that at my level of experience (~4 months flying the Hog, but about a year studying it prior to purchasing it) I would be able to enjoy OPF? How hard of a campaign is it?
  13. Yup, it's frustrating to get fired on and not be able to see where it came from, as the smoke dissapates by the time I finish going defensive
  14. Thanks
  15. If you press TMS right anywhere on the TAD will it create a mark point over your cursor?
  16. I know the A-10C's systems very well, but I'm not very good during combat lol. I think I have the same issue as others with keeping my head in the pit too much. Anyone else have any other tips for me? I fly on the 104th where all targets are static, so I usually end up loading up 6 mavs, 4 gbu-12s, and sitting back at angels 15 picking off targets, which I don't think will help me get better at low altitude combat. :\ Just signed up for BlueFlag tho, can't wait for the next Caucasus campaign
  17. I don't think it is, I feel like the smoke dissipates too quickly, hope ED improves this aspect of dcs
  18. So pitbull means your aircraft gave it guidance to the vicinity of the target, while maddog means your aircraft dropped lock and the missile just flew to the targets last known pos? One more question, at what point does fox 1/3 long, become fox 1/3 medium and fox 1/3 short
  19. Is pitbull the same thing as mad dog
  20. Sorry I have no idea what you mean, I just got srs myself the other day
  21. Go into controls, push the intercom button, and the keybinding will be highlighted. Unbind it or re-assign it to a different button. At least, I think that's how you do it XD
  22. This is a short video I made in the A-10C. Please sub if you enjoy, as I plan on making more DCS vids, as well as some Squad and Project Reality  P.S. this is the first video I ever made, and it really doesn't represent my best work. My more recent vids are much better :smilewink:
  23. Two more questions guys: Under settings I see Rx effects, Tx effects, and encryption effects...what do each of these mean? And along the lines of encryption, like, can aircraft on one side hear aircraft on the other if they're on the same channel? And is there anything that needs to be set up to encrypt your voice?
  24. Ok thank you all for the help
  25. Ah so each server has its own IP address both for the server and srs?
