  1. So I go into the Multiplayer tab from the home screen, then click "New Server" at the bottom, and then the folder icon to find a mission to load. But when I am trying to open the mission I want to play with my friends, it doesn't show up when I look through all the folders. In fact, all the folders look empty, and I don't see ANY of the files that should be there. Can I get some help?
  2. Well guys I've been practicing with the F15 and I think I've improved. Got 3 kills today in quick succession before dying. Yesterday I got 2 kills and was RTBing but crashed as I was taking a bite of cheesecake :doh: How long are your guys's flights, on average?
  3. I hope I don't offend all these Su-27 fans here XD But I personally HATE the Su-27 for the simple fact that whenever I barely go nose down I just black out. Is this normal? I know the F15 can definitely take more neg Gs than that
  4. So I was recently watching a ralfidude video where DevilDog gets both his wings destroyed but still manages to fly home. During the video, DevilDog rolls inverted even though he has no ailerons. I asked ralfidude about how he was doing this, to which ralfidude replied that his rudders were providing bank. My question is: How does this work? Can someone explain to me how the rudders provided bank?
  5. I honestly think that's it because I have to use my hat to look around
  6. Yeah I understand that a dogfight is a dynamic environment and not a chess game, but I just suck
  7. I just need more experience? Edit: well that's not entirely true. I have plenty of experience against AI and non maneuvering targets but not against real people and SAMs
  8. I'm really good at using all of the F15's systems and I have a pretty good understanding of how radars and missiles work. If you were to give me a pen-and-paper test on it, I think I'd do well. However, all the knowledge I have is pretty useless as I have little experience in-game and have trouble applying the concepts I've studied to actual in-game combat. I ALWAYS get shot down quickly, no matter how hard I try Any tips for me to get better? Edit: do you guys think my bad performance may be due to the fact that I do not have a track IR and use an old Logitech 3D Pro?
  9. Yeah, during gun runs it's good to have the gun pipper block out other HUD symbology so you can see better
  10. And is the F10 map being MGRS or lat/long determined by the player or server?
  11. Should I use lat/long or MGRS? What are the adv. and disadv. of both? If I pick one, should it remain consistent across my CDU, TAD, TGP, F10 Map, etc? Also if I use one type, will JTAC ever give me a 9-line using the other type?
  12. I just tried dropping 2 GBUs but when I instead of seeing a flashing L for laster on my TGP I saw a flashing P...what does this mean?
  13. Because of the immense amount of radar waves hitting the aircraft right?
  14. If I remember correctly, FLOOD mode gives no RWR warning correct?
  15. Aw. I was hoping that if you fire from under 7-8nm, you could guide the missile all the way to impact without the enemy getting a RWR warning
  16. At what range does the AIM-120 go pitbull? If fired from within this range, will it come off of the rail in a pitbull state?
  17. What's the general procedure when defending against a radar-guided missile in the F-15 or MiG? I've seen many different tutorials that all say different things. One says to put the bandit at your 10 or 2 o'clock, and that once you are fired upon, perform a Split-S while burning and deploying chaff, and to get as low as possible. Another says that once you fire your missile, keep the target at your radar's gimbal limits. Then once you're fired upon, put the target at your 3 or 9 o'clock, get low, and notch. One last source says to keep the target at your 10 or 2, and keep it there even after you're fired upon. Once the missile gets close, break hard in the opposite direction. I'm really confused as to how to defend against radar-guided missiles.
  18. I read that an enemy's RWR can pick me up from a distance greater than I can pick them up using my radar. Is this true? If so, is it possible that I'm on someone's RWR even though I'm not picking them up on the radar screen?
  19. This is a SUPER noob question, so pardon me but: What altitude should I fly at? This may seem like a really dumb question but after take-off, what are the advantages of getting high, getting low, or staying at a medium altitude? What's advisable? I know the advantage of staying low is that you stay safe from SAMs (mostly) but what are the disadvantages? And what are the advantages and disadvantages of staying super high? :helpsmilie:
  20. Would my webcam need to be modified to be able to detect the LEDs?
  21. Not sure about the resolution but just my face
