  1. I appreciate your sacrifice, but it turns out i have i new intern coming this afternoon so... Crap. Btw, there is actual research supporting what we men always have stated. We actually get sicker than women... Also, giving birth isnt even an illness. So what are they whining about? :-P
  2. Awesome! Now i just have to catch some illness so I can leave work... :music_whistling:
  3. Wow, do you still drive them old wrecks?? Is that even legal? ;-)
  4. My pleasure Skull!:)
  5. This is the JA version.
  6. Great job Werewolf. Although nothing of this was news to an old Viggen ground crew guy like myself, it always brings goosebumps watching this kind of stuff. Also very nice to see a foreign interpretation of the mighiest Saab ever built. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
  7. Not really a Viggen video, but this is a must see to get a nice feel for the low flying boys of the time...
  8. Hey! Need some input. Will i be able to run current DCS 1.5 with Rift dk2 with this system? I5 4690k, 16gb RAM, 960gtx 2gb, SSD.
  9. I may be double posting here, but starting on page 7 in this SFI there is a list that may be useful for you non Swedes out there regarding swedish abbreviations and expressions with their designations, translated to english. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8bCDRcq9BVeV2o5R2o0UU5fQnc

  10. [quote=Goblin;2978881 WHAT? Thunderstruck is THE Viggen themesong... ;) THUNDER!!! Agreed!
  11. Had a long talk with my friend the old SH37 pilot about the radar. He told me how they used to approach ships to do radar snapshots from different angles to compare the images and then decide the ships types and heading. They flew at about 10 m above the water and then popped up to do the snapshots, and then a quick return to 10m as they did a 180 for a new and different approach. He also told me " before i joined the SH37 squadron i thought i could do some serious low level flying. I was wrong, it was those guys who tought me how to really fly seriosly low..." :-)
  12. My pleasure :)
  13. There is a venting hole from the engine in the bottom of the fuselage. You can see it right behind the aerial antenna on this picture. So no, the reverser doors are not closed.
  14. IIRC, the gauge was by the filler nozzle, showing the actual amount left in the aircraft.
  15. The crew clearly is not fully trimmed, some of the crew even seem a bit confused abour their task... There is no way of telling the actual time this took because of the numerous cuts in the video, but a full arming and refueling would take less than about 12 minutes. We rarely did full rearming though. My crew ( my initial job was to load the cannon and later in my service, to lead the munitions crew) did quite a few turn around displys and got a lot of practise :) A typical display rearm/refuel cycle (80% fuel, 2 rb74, 2 rb71 and 125 30mm cannon rounds) usually was about 5,5- 6 mins with a well trimmed crew. The 80% fuel limit was due to restriction issues with the following air display.
  16. :( tell me about it... Age and too much gaming, beer and couching stole them...:music_whistling:
  17. Correct. There were a lot of hangers with low ceiling, including below ground level tunnels and rooms for parking and maintenance. One developed large arm muscles during the daily fin pumping routines ;) though nowadays they are nowhere to be found.
  18. Hehe, Sorry about that :) Well, my experience is a tad old by now, but reading up on it sure takes me back. Cant wait to get my hands on it. Am actually seing an old friend this week who used to fly SH37. Anything you want me to ask him? :o
  19. When we were stationed on Gotland during the fall of the USSR the scramble time was less than two minutes if the readiness state of the flight was at the second highest level (systems on, engine not running). At the highest level, the engine was kept running.
  20. Still remember when we picked pine needles from the gap between the wing and the elevator/ailerons. Heard the stories about it before i joined the squadron but didnt believe it... Oh man was i wrong... :)
