  1. I will try that. Need to reinstall the video editor to start experimenting again.
  2. I guess you're right, the quality of the recorded file by Nvidia Experience is pretty good, but I don't know what the settings are exactly. When I do the editing and finalize it, I choose pretty high settings hoping to have minimum loss of quality. The end result is a HUGE file, much much bigger than the original (still with some loss of quality). On top of that, if I upload that big file to Youtube, I guess Youtube compresses it like there's no tomorrow and the resulting quality is bad. I guess that part I'm doing right, I only apply compression once at the end. Is there a way to simply cut the original file and re-save it, without compressing it?
  3. Hey guys, I'm not experienced with editing videos. Everytime I record some gameplay in whatever game and do any editing, even if it's just to cut out the beginning or the end to make it shorter, when I save it using same format and similar quality level settings, the end result is always a bigger file size with lower image quality. It doesn't seem to be specific to the software used to record or edit, I've used different software on different occasions but this issue is a constant. Nowadays I use Nvidia Experience for recording, but in the past I've used OBS and FRAPS (that I remember from the top of my head) and for editing I've used VSDC and Movie Maker (that I remember from the top of my head). Nowadays I simply don't edit, in order to preserve image quality and file size. In my limited understanding, the loss of quality comes from the compressing that's done at the time you save the file, so, in other words, you're compressing a video that was already compressed once when it was recorded and saved. All formats have their own compression and each time a video is saved it's inevitably compressed again (although file size seems to grow). If I'm right, then this problem is inevitable... Please tell me I'm wrong...
  4. I've just tested it here and after replenishing weapons the aircraft stoped rolling to the side (I'm using the latest Open Beta version 2.5.2.18736). Another thing that you might want to check is your rudder input. Rudder not centered will cause aircraft to roll. I have a Thrustmaster TFRP and it's so light that sometimes I hold it depressed a little bit to the side without realizing it, causing the plane to roll without me understanding why. Many times I have to press Ctrl+Enter(display axes current positions) to check if my rudder input is centered.
  5. Thanks Madeiner and Jojo, that's the kind of clarifications I'm talking about. Stuff might seem scarier to an outsider (like me) than they really are. Plus, as the author of the list isn't updating it anymore, only owners if the M2000C know stuff that has already been corrected.
  6. ^^ Thanks for the Reply, Ramsay. Some stuff scared me because of my lack of Mirage knowledge, like the FBW channel 5 not working - I thought it meant constant lack of FBW control on some surfaces, but it turns out it's just an emergency power to the FBW system. Critical for any real airplane, but not for the game, I'd say. It seems like most of the list is stuff critical to the real plane but not critical to a Flaming Cliffs level of sim, certainly not show stoppers for quick combat missions. Looks to me like the devs made sure everything necessary for a working FC3 level plane was there and called it enough for this module... Some bugs do seem like show stoppers, like the radar scan volume wrong indication and wrong B-scope projection, closure rate wrong on TWS when target is close, keyboard buttons not working for changing radar PRF modes, CCIP gun piper bugged. Maybe it's my lack of knowledge of the Mirage again, but all these seem critical for combat. The M2000C is such a cool jet, on top of that it's the most powerful fighter ever in service in my country's airforce, so I would love a reason to get it. I don't mind the price, I actually like paying full price on software that I enjoy, so I'm not worried about the sale. But based on what I'm seeing (in my limited view from outside), I'm currently leaning more towards not getting it.
  7. Rolling to the side after firing a missile is normal, it's because one side becomes lighter than the other. I've never had it happen after replenishing weapons as you described. Have you checked your trim? You should reset your trim after replenishing your weapons. Also, if it's perfectly trimmed and you roll it a bit, it will try a bit to roll back on it's own to return to level flight, that's also normal. I've also never had IR stop working, make sure you move the antenna up and down a little bit until you find the target, because it seems to have a small FOV on the vertical. Can't comment on the other items though, I don't remember using them...
  8. I've been eyeballing the Mirage for some time now, but that list on the 1st post scares the hell out of me. Not because of the number of bugs (bugs will always exist), but because of the number of bugs in important stuff. On the other hand I see a lot of people very happy with the M2000C, so I don't know if these bugs have been squashed but not updated on the 1st post by the author, or if they're there still. Below I'm quoting only the items that really seem worrying to me, I'd be very happy if someone that owns the M2000C could confirm them or not...
  9. I'm kind of a skeptical guy regarding some things, including sentient AI, for reasons that I would love to talk about, but that would add even more off-topicness to this thread.
  10. I love how you put small explanations within parenthesis that tie everything together.
  11. For Christ sake, this is a scientific discussion, the earth is not flat.
  12. You only need proof for stuff that initially makes no sense. When a thought makes completely sense (like his), you don't need proof to validate it.
  13. Lol, spot on
  14. I don't fear AI... the way I see it, all it can do is follow instructions. Even in this case, if I understand it right, it followed instructions on how to create instructions to solve the cube, and then followed these instructions. No sign of free will, I guess.
  15. Yeah, keep that optimism you guys!!
  16. When I was growing up there was this idea that when the year 2000 comes, technology would be so advanced that we would have flying cars, laser guns, we would visit other planets, etc. It's 2018 and look what we have. Pocket telephones and social networks. How exciting. So yeah, I'll settle for more precise joysticks and better VR resolutions in 30 years.
  17. Exactly. Did you notice that many stuff in games today (precisely the stuff bing discussed in this thread: AI, world scale etc.) is basically at the same stage from more than 20 years ago? Despite all the daunting increase in processing power?
  18. Touché. But you do realize how much effort must go into that, right? I mean, look at the companies that are doing that right now: Google, etc. and still they aren't there yet (and it's arguable if they'll ever be...). ED massive focus is clearly on the aircraft, not on the AI, so I don't see ED 'being there' in terms of AI as you guys want it, not in a foreseeable future... Not to mention the amount of processing power that would be required (there's your overhead). That's why I ask why put so much effort in artificial intelligence, if we already have real intelligence at our disposal?
  19. No, I meant tune for realism. One thing is the darkness of the texture matching its darkness IRL, another thing is the visibility through it matching the visibility through it IRL. If matching the visibility means that the darkness will be a bit off in relation to RL, I say visibility ranks higher. Who's going to notice or even care if darkness is off by 0.00002 if visibility is realistic?
  20. ^^ This. Go for realism instead of visuals I don't have the Hornet, but this problem exists in other modules too.
  21. Why invest so much in AI if you have all those human players to play with? I'd rather see all that effort go into multiplayer...
  22. In that regard we are roughly at the same state we were 20 years ago... Computer power has increased, but it was used in getting graphics prettier, while the scale of the games remained basically the same. So yeah, rest assured we have computing power enough to do what you described, just not with a quadrizillion polygons per squared inch.
  23. About the neuro connections, holograms and human extinctions... he said 2050, not 2150 guys!!
  24. So they are making the high fidelity module and they can't adjust the missile's guidance algorithm itself? I wonder about the level of 'fidelity' that will come out of this.
  25. But what other platforms exist?
