I already see I will end up with more than one plane to buy but at this point it will be Mirrage. All that you all said along with all those vids I watched. THis looks like best choice. And last but not least. I realy wanna go up in the air XD. Th for advices everyone!

This will certainly help. I do preffer metric system since I am from eastern EU. IFF is for target identification if I am correct? I guess that it helps in MP xd. After all this input I got now my final dillemma is Mirage or L-39 and they are so different that I am just not sure. I guess I would preffer simplicity of weapon application in L-39 but then again after some point I will want to get into something better so Mirage might be my choice. I guess I will have to buy one now and when I get better in this than more advanced one. After all I still got KA 50 to practice if I wish to make my life complicated XD. I wander if there is any squadrons that use L-39 in multiplayer missions...

Well Mig is not Korean plane. You did confused me there lol. Anyway. Thanks for idea. In mean time I decided that I will ger Mirage anyway. despite that list which isnt that accurate now days anyway

I do like it simple, but not that simple and that stubborn radar of F5 does not sound that good. I guess I will settle with Mirage. I will reread about that more and purchase tommorow with clear head

Thanks. I have enough data now. But now I got bigger issue. My opentrack with DIY clip stopped working in DCS for some reason. I am off to recheck is it working in say ETS2 (was working there). Before I get down to the point of this issue i will not buy anything but I am back in opinion that Mirage will be just fine, not best but there is not such thing as perfect buy nor perfect plane is it? As for opentrack i am usinf Freetrack 2.0 as output. Maybe someone else using opentrack and can help me... Edit: opentrack is reinstalled and it looks just fine now. Buying Mirage .

Hello guys! You may seen some of my posts on sub forums, but this caused so much confusion in me that I got completely lost. I am asking that since modules here are not that cheap and I wanted to have as much info as I could get before making a purchase. So here is my problem. I want a plane, but I am not sure which one to take. Original idea was to get hawk have fun and do some shooting, maybe as side plane in some nice squad and generaly enjoy to fly. As i went and do some background research of hawk i noticed warnings of being almost forgotten by devs and left with loads of issues wich lead me to try some other choices and that was Albatros. That one, so it seens to me, is so simplistic that I guess it is only good for flying. So that failed too. Then someone said that Viggen is nice Cas plane, but when i went up on youtube I admit I was ceared off by amount of stuff that was in it, not to meniton that insane number coded navigation thing. After some time, someone suggested to look up Mirage. That has so huge list of bugs that I started to wander why anyone bought that in first place? :huh: I would go with mainstream most likely and get A10C but I totaly dislike that plane and yea I admit I am biased in this but i guess it is just me. As i am now sitting here and typing this I am trying to see is there anything left for me out there which I am not seeing at this moment or not. At this point I am almost convinces that I should just not buy anything. You may be shock just to even hear this, but I spend so much money on failed games that I just had nuff of that and now I am just extremely carefull to buy anything. Hello guys. I am in process of buying new module for DCS. For timebeing I have two failed purchases of with i mostly dislike both. KA 50 and SU 27 to be precise. Not for being bad but those were just not my type I guess so i am now all over the place looking for right one. I discarded at this point Viggen and Mirage. A 10C is way too complicated for my taste. Not sure about the rest. What I am looking in plane is nice looks, simple operations, usability in missions (solo and in multiplayer) so I was wondering does Albatros since it is mostly trainer could fit in those roles? I dont expect to be perfect , but fun and usable I guess.

Damn, as someone who preffers cas that is no go then. Ah well back to rereading other planes. I will not spend 60$ easy. This was lot of info, I think i understand most of it. :thumbup:

So better than clicking and simplistic albatross and yet will not get me mad with 20 min startup! Amater too! Just my kind of plane lol. Well, I will get that one I guess

I am looking for fun plane, that I can use in multiplayer missions. I dont wanna spend decade setting up stuff, testing and what not. I am not concerned with missing modules but I might get upset to find out that there are some serious game breaking stuff in it. I don't expect perfection thou. :pilotfly: Like you said simple but with some stuff to do in cockpit other than press four shortcuts to start up plane. I own T flight Hotas X, so I do hope that it's mediocre button count will suffice for this module. In heat of combat, someone that bad as I am not will preffer simple armament management system, rather than advanced one despite first one might be less viable. I don't mind that. And ofc it's good looks counts as plus. :)

Well I am lazy one so I like simpler planes but with switches and buttons I might go and recheck Albatross...For flying and simple shooting it may be ok. Thanks for info

I was about to buy Mirage..even without discount but I was suddenly stopped after I saw this list. Is this module that bad? Also I was looking for simple to learn plane that can to both A/A and A/G, so I was wondering could I fit Mirage into this ?

Hello all I am still looking for Eu based group, prefferably with dedicated server. I am rather fresh to DCS, but willing to learn. I got SU 27, KA 50 and most likely I will get new plane today. Hello all, I guess that you can't delete flying bug just like that. By now everyone reading this thread knows that i am not happy with planes i have (i will blame only myself for that) but as i was thinking yesterday and concluded that i enjoyed very much flying in my ka-50. So i was interested is there maybe dedicated helo squadron willing to accept new pilot that is suspectible for ocasional ragequitting? Also as soon as discount on MI 8 appears I will get that too. Anyway, feel free to drop me a message.

THanks, then my Hotax X will suffice I think. I exclusively use rocker (Extra axis) on front of throttle lever as substitue for pedals. I will also try then to get older opentrack version which was working fine with my clip. Thanks all

Hello all! I am about to get Mi 8 so i wanted to ask couple of things. first is my T flight HOTAS X nuff to fly it? And second, my handmade clip stopped to work propperly from when I installed latest version of Opentrack and is now just plain horrible, so is it possible to use pow hat and still have decent experience? Beginner here. Thank you

Hello. In absence of better place to put this question, this sounded like best alternative. I already have some planes, and KA-50 (which was waaay to fast decided to buy lol) and I am now kinda stuck. I know we are all here to use all those planes and helis in fight, but I am more of a pacifist so I was thinking to get one of helicopters. KA-50 is almost a nightmare for me. I eventualy learn to start it and I guess i "can" land it if I realy try, but that is it. Wasted a lot of cash on wrong addon. I am trying to be more careful so here is what i would like. I am even not sure if there is anything much to do in DCS other than shooting stuff, like carry supplies or something in that line. As I saw advertising vids, both of alternatives wich I was considering (MI 8 or Huey) aims straght of the bat to fight. Now I was thinking about MI 8 since i am almost positive that guys did transport some ground units in game with it and I guess if i wanna die alot i can try to use its fight variant. I would actualy need heli that is rather simple to start, that requires no 30 minutes of switching just to get it prepped for flight and not to agressive controls would be nice. My country had those up to recently, so I am almost positive that Mi 8 fits that . Anyway, feel free to help and advise. Tommy Thank you

I admit I had no idea about that. F4s was no threat with a bit more care i guess i could get it even sooner. next mission in line was F14, so i presumex that is a bit tougher..i guess they are not set up in any order... i will try to go up by your list then. I got one more question. Can you recomend me graphics settings where I culd have best cucsess in seeing enemy (I got GTX 1050, I3 3,7 and 8 GB of ram). In pane textures are on 1080 I think, but rest are atm on low. I still need to learn abit more about topics of spotting target. :helpsmilie:

Well. I went and tried same mission file again today. In my surprise I saw 27 ER on list. So I tried several approaches which all failed. Only think that worked first time was, wait for missle fire, then engage ecm when it gets a bit closer and eject few countermeasures. That drove missle wrong way. It was actually my first sucessfull missle fired avoidance situation. But then again after that I just could not see nor lock on Tomcat so next one from him was hit and that was it. I did watch few vids on youtube and I just cant understand how they can see opponent in the air.? Only thing I see is a missle after it is fired. I am a bit bored by now with trying to hit anything besides static stuff on ground. :cry:

I went and reviewed that mission pack and it looks that it is from 2013, so it might have been version problem, not sure. Anyway if you have some nice mission fole made for trainning (ground targets, air targets...etc, i would apreciate if you could share it :) Up to then, i will at least hone my flying skills. :pilotfly:
