  1. I have the 200mm extension and use the long Monstertech deskmount. The long throw with the 200mm gives you more preciscion. Also the long mount gives you the option to mount the stick base below the seat and have a cutout in the seat between your legs so you can move the stick closer to you. Using 2x40 springs the feel is really good. No need to setup curves if you have the 200mm.
  2. He he.. I guess I can forget about the warranty after posting those pics[emoji6] It was just an idea I had that I wanted to try out. Thanks for the compliments, but I'm no engineer or anything, so it might very well break down anytime. I just put in an order for another Gunfighter, to make sure I have something in case it does.. Also I need something to fly the fixed wings with. I'm well aware though of the high torque involved with the long throw. Actually, I removed both the springs and the cams. There shouldn't be any stress on the gimbal mechanism now, I figure. It's only the dampeners that provide the resistance. But one problem I have is that I need to recalibrate it quite often now. When I start up dcs it's not centered, and usually some jitters too before calibration. You have any idea why that happends? Is the cams somehow involved with the sensors? I was going to open the base up again to have a look. Maybe I overlooked something. Btw, you guys should make a proper collective and cyclic. You can have my idea for free [emoji6]
  3. Hi there, I'm using two 200mm extensions for my cyclic mod. Works just fine for helicopters. But without the added dampeners, the resistance in the springs are quite soft, even with 2x40 springs. Sent fra min G8441 via Tapatalk
  4. I bought the x56 right after it's release a few years back. Was plagued with ghost presses for a long time. Tried several solutions, but nothing worked. What finally fixed it for me was connecting the x56 throttle to a cheap external powered usb 2.0 hub, with no other devices connected to the same hub, and then connecting the hub to a usb 2.0 port on the MB and leaving the other port on the same usb lane on the MB free/unconnected. After I did that I never had a single ghost press ever again. Maybe you already tried that or it doesn't work fo you for some reason. Best of luck anyways! Sent fra min G8441 via Tapatalk
  5. Thanks for the quick update. Did a test with the Gazelle now on the latest beta. The rotor effects are back and the damage bug is finally gone. But I get no effect from ETL now. If I remember correctly, it was there earlier, but maybe a bit late in relation to the real ETL.
  6. Hi. A few days ago after one of the beta hotfixes, the main rotor whirl effect on the Gazelle disappeared. Now there's no rotor effect no matter the settings in simshaker. Another long standing issue with the Gazelle is a constant effect on the failure and damage setting, even if there's no damage. Sent fra min G8441 via Tapatalk
  7. Where I live there hasn't been much sun yet, so I guess I'll better bring a high factor sunscreen! And sunglasses, ofcourse. And an umbrella, just in case. We've got enclosure tickets for both days. Viewing garden on friday and Pimms on sunday. Bringing my 5 yo son, so I thought it would be good to have a place to sit down. It'll limit how much we can move around, having him along. But we've got two days there, so I hope I'll get to see the static display too. Thanks for your advice. Much appreciated! 8. Roger that. I've got an hotel nearby and I'll start out early to avoid the worst traffic. Good tip about letting it clear up a bit before leaving. Thanks! Sent fra min D6503 via Tapatalk
  9. I'm coming from Norway to visit the RIAT friday and sunday. First time at an UK airshow for me. Really looking forward to it. Got any good tips? Sent fra min D6503 via Tapatalk
  10. In the first mission there's a Humwee parked on top of a hangar at Kobuleti.
  11. Just buy it from the Russian site. I did that and had it on my desk in less than week. Sent fra min D6503 via Tapatalk
  12. I struggled with the same thing. That software is not particularly user friendly, but it has a lot of options.
  13. Check your X and Y axis numbers there. You have set both buttons to the same axes. Compare your settings to the image in bearfoot's post. Sent fra min D6503 via Tapatalk
  14. So the promise of a 2.5 release was only to beta testers? If I read this correctly, those that run 1.5.8 stable and/or 2.2 still have to wait a few more weeks for the update. Sent fra min D6503 via Tapatalk
  15. I tried this one as well, but the translation doesn't make any sense to me at all. Google translate don't work very well with Russian. I wonder why VKB won't comment on this issue. Me and others have asked in the VKB forum too, but we're getting no response from them. Sent fra min D6503 via Tapatalk
  16. Sokol to the rescue, as usual! I had a look at your post last night, but didn't have the chance to try it out myself then. When I'm looking at it now what's behind the spoiler is gone, and when I try the link I can't access the pictures. Maybe you can post it again? As I remembered it there was some different options there than I have in my current version of VKBDevCfg (v0.83.96) Was that a beta version or something? I can't find the same options myself. I don't know much about programming, but from what I understand what you can do now is set an "on" point in a limited spot along the axis for two of the buttons. When the trigger passes that point the button is turned on and stays on until the trigger passes back over the same point. What I would like to have is the option to set "on" and "off" points for all the buttons wherever you want along the entire axis. This would make it possible to turn on and off safety or arm, or whatever you want as the trigger passes over that point.
  17. Thanks, but calibration is not the issue. Check my post under technical support in the VKB forums, and you'll see what I'm talking about.
  18. Thank you Sokol, you're always very helpful. I bought the Gunfighter Mk II Pro + MCG Pro from VKB China a couple of weeks ago. Got the VAT+tax bill today, which was about 160 USD. So the stick + Visa/Western Union fee, shipping to Norway and tax ended up at just over 700 USD total. It's not cheap, that's for sure. But it's no ordinary toy either. Except for the Pro trigger not working properly yet, and some pretty cryptic calibration software, I'm incredibly happy with it. Build quality and functionality is great. I would easily recommend it to anyone. I got it from China in less than a week, no hassle at all. So if you're in anywhere else than NA and itching to get your hands on it, I wouldn't hesitate to go ahead pull the trigger in the China shop. Just make sure you don't pull the mcg pro trigger. If you do it's gonna be anyone's guess whether you're actually buying it or not... ;-) Sent fra min D6503 via Tapatalk
  19. I asked pretty much the same question in the VKB forums the other day. Hasn't gotten any answer yet. I'm sure we'll get one as soon as anyone figure out how to do this.
  20. I've had an X56 for 1,5 years. No issues with quality of the X56 yet , but the stick ergonomics and gimbal are nothing to be impressed by. Just got the VKB MCG, which is a totally different beast. Still use the throttle, which I actually find pretty good. Ghost presses used to drive me crazy, though. Getting a powered usb hub didn't fix it. What eventually did the trick was connecting the throttle to a different usb bus on the mb than the stick. After I did that there hasn't been a single ghost press.
  21. Hello there! I live way up north in Finnmark, which is one of the reasons I was so impressed with the quick delivery from VKB. The 9% charge for the money transfer is kind of steep. There was also an option for bank transfer using BankID, which was only 10 USD. But I chose Visa, figuring it would be safer. Don't know about the VAT though. I'll probably get a bill in the mail. Sometimes I do, and sometimes I don't. Anyhow, the stick is definetively worth whatever it'll end up costing! Sent fra min D6503 via Tapatalk
  22. When you can get it from China within a week, there's really no need to wait for the eurpoean store to eventually stock up. Sent fra min D6503 via Tapatalk
  23. I didn't know about the Aliexpress store then. If they're in China too, and ship with DHL Express, you'll probably get the package within a few days. Unless some EU regulations kick in. As you know, Norway is not an EU member. I guess you could easily just order by email to VKB also if you wish to. Sent fra min D6503 via Tapatalk
  24. Europeans who consider buying VKB products might find this interesting: I pulled the trigger and ordered a Gunfighter Pro + MCG Pro from the Russian VKB site last week, with some help from Google translate. The day after I was contacted by email from VKB with payment details. That same evening i made the money transfer with Western Union, which was the only way to pay. The stick was 459 USD, shipping by DHL Express to Norway was 38 USD. Western Union / Visa charge was about 40 USD. They collected the payment the following day, and after the weekend the package left Hong Kong. Two days later it was delivered at my doorstep. So I got the package in less than a week from ordering it. I'm amazed how fast this was. Usually it takes longer when I buy from Nowegian webshops! So if you're concerned if buying from China is unsafe, customs a hazzle or if delivery is slow, you have absolutely no reason to be worried. I couldn't be happier with the service VKB provided me. And now it's down to trying out this beauty! Sent fra min D6503 via Tapatalk
