  1. well, if you can't wait, I see it's available from Direct2Drive now... http://www.direct2drive.com/7938/product/Buy-DCS:-Black-Shark-Download
  2. Okay, got it... For some reason my machine put a .zip extention on the files when I downloaded them... Renamed them to .miz and all is well now. Can't explain that... Maybe it's a windows 7 thing, as I'm running the beta build 7000 64 bit edition. Anyways, it's working now. Thanks all, Mack
  3. hmm, that is strange. When I unzip the files there are no files with the extension .miz. None of them have file extensions and all the missions files are simply called "mission". For example, in the compressed file "City Sweep.zip" I see the following files: cityswee[{61B533C3-8072-4e67-911D-18C9A22F249C}.jpg mission options My windows explorer is set to show extensions. When opening blackshark and pointing to the location I unzip the files to, it does not recognize them as a compatable format. Are the downloads messed up? Every single one of them looks quite similar. Thanks for your help... -Mack
  4. I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to hosting maps... how do I load these maps up? I see they are compressed files and when I unzip them, blackshark doesn't recognize them. Do I need to use servman to load them somehow? Thanks... -Mack
  5. Geeze, man... cut ED some slack! They're doing their best to get a great product to us. I'm a Canadian too and yes, I'm disappointed that the boxed version is not available to us yet, but be patient. ED has gone to great lengths to get the game to us and it's only a download away if you're really eager to try it. IMHO the amount of detail that's gone into this sim is extrordinary and even though I bought both the Russian download version and the English download versions on their release - I'll be getting a boxed version as soon as I see one. Why? Because this sim is just that great and it will get even better! ED deserves our support. If you're going to stop buying their products just because you can't get a boxed copy right now, this very second, then I'm affraid you're going to miss out on the best simulators that have ever been developed and will ever be developed for years to come. I truely feel sorry for you, for missing out on this great sim... :( -Mack
  6. I vote for colour and I'd pay up to $80.00 for it if required. I admit I was rather disappointed to hear it's only going to be available in b/w.
  7. I've landed doing 150-180 before, but my tires didn't survive... Other than that everything was in good shape.
  8. This profile looks amazing. Sadly my touch screen only supports 800X600 so for now I'm still using a very basic profile. Any chance this will be modified to 800x600 in the future? Regards, Mack
  9. Der Molch - Sent you a PM with contact details if you wish to discuss your dilemma...
  10. I bought an X52 Pro and it lasted all of 5 months before the X & Y Axis became very inaccurate and loose, just off centre. This made it almost impossible to line up my vikhrs in the Shark. I bought the pro version specifically believing it would be more durable and last longer than the plain X52, but I was sorely dissappointed. I was even more dissappointed by the poor customer support I received from Saitek. I cut my losses and invested in CH Products Fighter Stick, Pro Throttle and Pro Pedals and I can't say I've ever been happier with a HOTAS. I wish I had done this to start with. As they say, hindsight is 20 20. I hope other folks have better luck with their Saitek gear, but I personally cannot recommend them, based on my experiance. CH Products are of amazing quality and I'll never go back... Best Regards, Mack.
  11. TrackIR is definatly a must. I had a bad experiance with my Saitek X52 Pro. It wore out after only 5 months of use and became extremely in-accurate, off center. Saiteks support department treated me like crap and as a result I will never buy from Saitek again. I've since switched to a CH Products Fighterstick, Pro Throttle & Pro Pedals. I'm still amazed at how much more precise this kit is, than my old Saitek X52 Pro. I still kick myself for wasting money on Saitek.
