  1. Worked in Win7 64 bit for me.
  2. I had a Mimo 7 " screen non-touch for a brief time. It worked well for a month or two and then shorted out or something. I returned it and got a refund. Would have exchanged it but the place I bought it didn't have any more. I was using it for a shkval in blackshark and it worked really well. Little to no input lag. If it worked for that, I'm sure it'd work fine as a static touch-screen interface with Touch-Buddy or Helios. Quality was an issue for the mimo, given that it malfunctioned after only a month or so of use. Maybe I was just unlucky though. Be sure to check return policies, just to be safe. -Mack
  3. Has anybody out there with a TH2Go setup noticed that their idle GPU temps are higher than they were without TH2Go running? Just curious, as on my GTX570 my temps originally idled at 40-45C. After I got TH2Go up and running they now idle at 67-69C. Of course my fan speed is running noticeably louder to keep things cool as well, which can be slightly annoying in certain circumstances. I'm wondering if this is normal when running TH2Go or if I've screwed something up with my drivers... My vitals, if they help. Mobo: Gigabyte EX58-UD3R CPU: Intel i7 920 @ 3.2 Ghz RAM: 6 GB OCZ Gold @ 1600 Mhz Graphics: Zotac GTX570 (Stock speed) Driver 263.09 TH2Go Digital Edition, running 5040 X 1050 OS Drive: 2 X OCZ Agility 120 GB SSD's in RAID 0 Storage: 1 Seagate 1 TB 7200 RPM OS: Win 7 64Bit Professional Thanks, Mack
  4. I agree, Feed. Being able to specify the active touch screen area should be standard fare and built into the Windows config options. Madwolf: With TH2Go there is no option to let windows see all 3 screens as one separate entity. Windows sees the three screens as one giant screen, unless you deactivate the two other screens, then it just sees the one. The T230H works fine in this manner, but as soon as I enable the other 2 screens via the Matrox config software, the calibration is all wrong. I appreciate all the suggestions guys, and if I find a fix I'll be sure to post it. I might try Nvidia Surround and see what my FPS is like that way. If it's decent, I'll sell the TH2Go. -Mack
  5. Ah, okay. Thanks again. If you or anyone else ever finds a way - please do tell. :smartass: -Mack
  6. Yea, I thought of that and tried to no avail. Good suggestion though. Gadroc - thanks for the input. I checked Acer's website and you are correct, they do not provide any type of calibration tools so I guess I'm out of luck. I'm planning on getting helios when it comes out so perhaps I'll get another non-touch screen and use the Acer T30H with Helios, down the road. (I actually have 2 of these screens - one over top of my other 3) Windows 7 uses something called tabcal.exe to calibrate the touch-screens. I found some commands online for increasing the number of calibration points, but nothing that allows you to change the screen area. Documentation on tabcal.exe is slim to none. Edit - Too bad I can't install the 3m calibration software and use it for the Acer T230H. (Tried that too! Desperate times call for desperate measures...) -Mack
  7. It's an Acer T230H Thanks, Mack
  8. Running it in Windowed mode? Windows 7 doesn't support display spanning like XP did, so you have to run in Windowed mode... (Unless you're using TH2Go, Eyfinity or Nvidia surround) -Mack
  9. An update for me as well. I jumped into TH2Go and now have 3 screens for my view area. The 2 screens on the side are just regular 23" Acer screens and I currently have my touch display in the middle. The extra FOV is really amazing and I do love it... But I've had to sacrifice my touch screen as when using TH2Go Windows see's the 3 screens as one so the touch calibration is all screwed up. I really miss toggling switches with the touch screen in the clickable pit, now. I've searched google to no avail - there does not seem to be any way to tell windows to calibrate the touch screen so it only uses the middle 1680 X 1050 screen area. So that being said - a warning to anyone considering this kind of setup. Looks like Helios or something similar is the only way to go, if you're using TH2Go for your main view screen. -Mack
  10. Very impressive pit. Makes me wish I had some welding tools & knowledge...
  11. Thanks, Frazer - It sounds very promising. :)
  12. Curious to see if anyone will speak-up that has had theirs fail but has been leaving it unplugged when not in use... Anybody out there? I'll continue to leave mine unplugged when not in use just in case... better safe then sorry. :) -Mack
  13. I also tried an X52 Pro and after 3 or 4 months it got spikey as heck. RMA'd it but I never used it again. Bought CH gear and love the quality. But I also recently got the HOTAS Warthog, as I couldn't resist having accurate button placement and the dual-throttle. I'm keeping my CH on standby though, especially after reading all of the issues with the Warthog throttles being flakey. So far so good, though. Like others have said, I wouldn't touch Saitek again. I sincerely hope you have better luck then the rest of us did...
  14. I'm mainly interested in it for the CDU panel as I find it's very awkward to pause track-ir in just the right place to use the buttons on the CDU with the touch-screen, this way. I have a small 12" Touch-Screen collecting dust and Helios could breath new life into it, I think. :) I used touch-buddy years ago but it seems to be fading away and doesn't seem to work very well with Win 7. Don't get me wrong - all-in-all I love the way things are setup as I have now with just using the touch-screen for the clickable cockpit. I just think I could be more efficient with a dedicated CDU. And I don't want to give Apple $800.00 for one of those IPAD's as I'd never use it for anything else. LOL
  15. Aye, a good point. :) As said, it was just a thought and probably not a reasonable explanation. Here's hoping it's as "rare" an issue as TM thinks...
  16. I have an Acer 23" Touch Screen. They only make one model that has a touch overlay and they are competitively priced at around $350 CAD. I use mine in the 3D cockpit for flipping switches, etc. It works well, but I ended up assigned the track-ir pause button to my hotas, as I find at times it is easier to pause track-ir before hitting switches. Otherwise it can be a bit hard to accurately hit the right switch if you move your head at the same time... I would also like to try Helios, but lack of space is also a concern for me. -Mack
  17. I've a question for the folks that have had their throttles fail. And maybe this has been asked... Everyone who had them fail do you leave your Warthog plugged into your PC's USB ports all the time, or unplug when not in use? Do you use a powered hub or plug directly into your PC? I'm curious if maybe a power spike on the usb ports at power up is causing the failures. Just a shot in the dark though... I never leave my throttle or stick plugged in when not in use. -Mack
  18. I guess that's what I mean - the current stick design looks like something you'd see in an arcade... But maybe it's just for demo purposes at the moment.
  19. I like the idea but the design looks geared towards arcade games, not a high fidelity sim, like DCS.
  20. rofl, didn't notice the background till you said that, Slammin. Too funny. =D Nice setup - wish I was able to do that with mine.
  21. Kudos for all your hardwork in 2010, ED team. I hope you all enjoy a well deserved holiday. :) -Mack
  22. Upgraded my GTX280 to a new Zotac GTX 570. Windows Exp score is now 7.9 for both Windows Graphics and Gaming Graphics. Similar experiance to you guys now - I can max everything out but water and the game runs super-smooth. I'll post some FPS results later as I haven't actually looked at them yet, but my GTX 280 would choke as soon as I turned on HDR before. I don't even notice a drop in frames now when I turn it on. I agree with HDR on, everything looks kinda washed out/grayish. Not sure if this will be tweaked in the future or not...
  23. I've only had mine a short time and I think the only free button is the one on the stick that has the extension on it for your pinkie to hit. I'm using it for vent key-up.
  24. Agree on this - I couldn't do this with my CH Stick because the base just made it impossible. Works perfectly with the Warthog though, and it's much more comfortable. -Mack
