Very epic information sheet, thank you for putting it together! +1, would make for some fun training flights Then we prob won't see it anywhere near release, lets hope it gets added along the way of hornet 2.0

Thanks! This answer was everything I hoped it would be :) Edit: mods may close this thread.

Since the AI in DCS is near all-knowingregarding missile launches, an (imo) interesting question popped up for me. Will the Jester AI have authority over countermeasures? Say, when you let it take over the pilot seat? (not sure where countermeasure controls are for F-14) Follow-up question: AI planes call out spikes, launches etc for eachother, will Jester AI have this as well? I can think of a couple of pros and cons myself, but would really like to hear a dev on this.

Cheers, good read.

Just wildly guessing here, but it's likely during the Hornet project, be it pre-release or a year later, they'll take a look at the weapons it carries to make sure they're up to snuff. EDIT: Or maybe just after the unification process, since they have a lot of different builds of the game atm, putting effort in new weapon code and skins would just be a waste of time.

Many thanks for posting this, binged it in three days! -
No specifics on the variants, though I personally hope for the C-variant.
-
The 'Lima' all-aspect variant was in full production by 1977, the Hornet had a first flight in 1978 en was introduced in 1983, with the 'Mike' variant being introduced around the same time. I'd assume there would be no reason to match the Hornet with dated rear aspect missiles.

Epic picture, thanks for sharing! The source I listed for GBU-xx series is a bit vague and frankly against a lot of my moderation in this thread. That said, in the listed spoiler is a bit more speculation on my end:

Thanks for the input Texac, but like Probad said, there's likely some wiggle room. We know we're getting almost everything up to the AIM-9x, but as people here like to know each type's specific capabilities, unless I can get a quote the 'AIM-9P5 is getting moddelled', I'm reluctant to include these. I'd like for every single variant of every single weapon to get posted here, not mavericks or harpoons in general (like the fact the SLAM-ER(AGM-84H/K) is a subtype of the main designation AGM-84 Harpoon)

Awesome! Thanks for sharing thses updated models :)

I'd rather have removable pylons a year down the line of release, rather then turning DCS in a comparable Arma 3 where fun (but not essential) features like this are pushed on mods. That said, it really isn't a big feature anyone could even want on initial release.. Everyone here wants to just fly the bug and worry about these things later on
-
I've never given requests like this much thought, until I started 'free-flying' in the L-39. +1 for me on the removable pylons. I've seen this asked/requested so often in chit-chat that I really hope the devs put it on a to-do list for after the pre-release or post-release.

I don't mind if discussion takes place here, as long as people are aware things are only getting up on the list if there's a source provided. The reason I made this additional thread is because I set out to continuously update it as more info is getting available. Not sure if the other OP is that committed.
-
I knew it was out there somewhere  added sources now since i was provided with them!
-
Cheers, updated the list!

Yep, We're all pretty sure it will get both the AIM-120C and Aim-7, but until it can be backed up by a source I'm a bit reluctant to put it up here..

This post has been made to put a stop to all the inaccuracies and speculation on which armament will be featured with the F/A-18C Hornet. I've made a collection of every confirmed weapon, and included a source to the forum post or (official) video i found it in. The list featured here is incomplete and subject to change. That said, if in any of the other threads a dev confirms a weapon, please PM me the weapon and direct postlink/videoUrl (no pictures). Since everything we see in screenshots can be artwork, I only accept videos (like the one from E3). I will be updating this list as more is being revealed to the public. I've got a medium end PC (edit: med-low for brand new ones nowadays ), since it's a few years old. I used to get stutters when loading in and deploying the mirrors or looking around when i spawned in. Checked my old HDD; clocking 100% RPM. Ever since i got my (gaming)SSD no more of that :) And like the other guys said, it mostly helps on loading, which is worth it for me, I spend a lot of time messing about in the editor and testing missions/triggers, so an SSD helps me a ton.

Looking at his previous upload behavior, he'll more than likely start covering stuff again when something new comes out. Especially like you guys mentioned above how he's busy with a campaign. But hey I don't want to speak for the man, have you tried contacting him? :music_whistling:
